I’m the founder of PicknGo Pvt Ltd. It’s a transportation application that offers a reliable cab booking service in Sri Lanka. We’re in competition with Uber and Grab, but our service is locally focused.

We wanted a cab booking app with a variety of features to offer optimum convenience and a seamless experience for riders. Ideally, our platform would eliminate long wait times and the need for pre-paid taxis.

Describe the project in detail.

Excellent WebWorld created a customer-facing version and a driver-facing version for iOS and Android devices, and both versions interact easily. All user information is stored in the cloud. The customer version offers real-time navigation, online payment options, and ridesharing capabilities. Riders can also book more than one cab at a time. The driver version allows users to accept or reject ride requests, manage their online wallet, and make special pickup charges for far-away riders.

What was the team composition?

Initially, we worked with a project manager, a designer, two frontend developers, and one backend developer. We soon transitioned to three developers on the frontend and two on the backend.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our app has replaced traditional taxi services in Sri Lanka, offering our community a much more affordable way to travel. Our users are impressed by the app’s functionality and level of security. They can book a taxi from anywhere without worrying about the safety of their data. Everything is digitized and stored in business reports for us to use to analyze our efficiency.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their team is excellent. They follow an efficient approach. They understood my requirements and checked in at every stage, sharing their progress to make sure they stayed on the right track.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They’re good listeners. They made sure they had a full understanding of my vision before they started building it.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They could improve their real-time testing capabilities. They can test the newest mobile devices, but we also need to be able to test on older models. Not everyone can afford the iPhone X.

I’m the CEO of Remote PoS, a point of sale system and mobile app for restaurants, cafes and small and large retail shops. Customers use the app on smartphones while vendors use a version for tablets (iPad).

Initially, I wanted to have two separate solutions for customers and vendors, but Excellent WebWorld suggested I use a single app instead. They developed it for both smartphones (customers) and tablets (vendors) and then built a website with an admin panel and a backend that supports the app.

Originally, they assigned us one designer, one project manager, two frontend developers, and one backend developer. Later we asked for another frontend developer and a second backend developer.

Our customers love the secure, feature-rich mobile app, which allows them to explore stores from the comfort of their own homes. The system also helps vendors reduce the ever-present costs of billing software. Additionally, all the data the app gathers is stored in the cloud, which makes generating reports fast and stress-free.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They have excellent and supportive project managers who understood and discussed our requirements at every phase. We were kept in the loop the entire time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I loved their passion for technology and market trends. They always suggested something much better than whatever I had in mind. They clearly wanted my app to succeed against the other PoS systems on the market.

They could work a bit on their timing, but I understand that quality work takes time. I have no major complaints.

My team searched online for vendors and considered proposals from three different companies. We chose Excellent WebWorld because their proposal was the most complete and professional. They were also the only vendor that included a PHP-based UI in their proposal. That ease of communication gave us confidence that this project would succeed.

We provided wireframe documents and an application flow. They prepared a database schema and screen layout mock-ups. We had several rounds of revisions before approving them.

They developed the Android app first, then the iOS app and the admin website. The team resolved defects as we approached our launch date and released both apps in a stable condition. They also offered defect resolution at no additional charge for 60 days after user acceptance testing and final signoff.

They initially assigned a project manager. Early in the project, they connected us directly with a technical manager to work through details more efficiently. We still work with our technical manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We met our deadline and had a successful launch. Within six weeks of our launch, we had over 500 users and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Many people commented that the user interface was intuitive and pleasant, so their UI designer did a fantastic job. We receive many many five-star reviews in both app stores.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Excellent WebWorld provided a customer communication portal, but it wasn't effective since we posted messages on a general project feed and not to specific individuals. Communicating over Skype was much more effective. They're currently enhancing this system.

Although the time change was challenging, they were extremely flexible. We met in the morning, which was sometimes late into their evening. Communicating with them was easy.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

This was a collaborative experience. I was impressed by their expertise in such a large number of technology platforms. It's difficult to communicate with some off-shore teams, but I was extremely impressed with the clear, professional communication I received from Excellent WebWorld.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They didn't initially have a concise solution for tracking the status of defects and changes, but we worked out a system using Google Sheets. I believe they are implementing new solutions now.

Management of the project was timely and I am very pleased with their level of professionalism and patience. Lots of iterations and builds were completed. I was very particular about want I wanted the outcome to be and my concerns and feedback were received and implemented if possible.

Milestones were completed as documented and if delays were forecasted they were communicated immediately.

I'm the CEO of a company that offers information about agricultural services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Excellent WebWorld?

We needed support to develop an events management website and a mobile application. My goal was to have an effective management tool for my agricultural events with good aesthetics since design is important in my line of business. I needed a simple site with good UX and making changes to the existing site's backend.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Excellent WebWorld has started the project by conducting research and creating a concept note that outlines my business goals. We then worked with a business analyst who analyzed the best practices in the IT world for similar systems. After the business analyst's review, we agreed on the system's entire concept. Excellent WebWorld has designed the site, developed it, and provided QA.

Excellent WebWorld initially used WordPress, but it didn't cover my needs, so we decided to rebuild the site from scratch using React and Figma for design. The site's content and strategy have been created by a Kenyan service provider. After building the events management site, the team has started to develop a partner portal for interaction between our events' participants and exhibitors.

Our events have exhibitors, sponsors, and visitors. I previously had a mobile app with the ability to scan QR codes to provide information, but I wanted to be innovative in Kenya by offering paperless events. I've requested that Excellent WebWorld build a mobile app where visitors and exhibitors can scan each other's QR codes to exchange information instead of using business cards. The team is responsible for the initial stage, consisting of structuring data.

Excellent WebWorld's communication is really good, and the team handles matters quickly. We communicate via WhatsApp, phone calls, and email as per my preferences. The team uses Asana, although I don't interact directly with the platform.

Excellent WebWorld has been hired to build/develop 2 websites and 3 mobile application. Each application has its own Apple and Android platform so we can say there are 6 mobile applications being built by Excellent WebWorld. Our website and applications are being built to help advance the healthcare system.

The goal of our websites and applications are to not only keep providers connected for better patient care. But to also keep the patients involved. Patients have the ability to be involved in the discussions when physicians are planning the best health care option for you. And not only is it for the patients but also for the loved ones who want to be informed on the physicians decision making as well. 

FerMD is being built for patients to start taking charge of their own health. We plan on having an advanced system that keeps everyone involved all while the patient stays at the comfort of their house or at their workplace when it is hard to be out of work. FerMD is designed to have either Telemedicine or In Person appointments with local physicians in the area. Depending on your visit, the doctor could order medication, imagings, and labs for the patient. For labs, a technician will be dispatched to your specified location. 
The patient will have the ability to track the technician when the technician is on the way to the specified location. For medications, if a script gets sent to the patient's preferred pharmacy but the pharmacy either can not dispense the medication that same day or just does not have the medication in stock, then the system will automatically recognize the patient's location and send the script to the next nearest pharmacy to the patient. It will continue to do that until a pharmacy can dispense the medication that same day. 
The patient will be notified when the medications will be ready for pickup and a text message will be sent to the patient for easy access to a map that shows you the way to the pharmacy. Now after that, the patient can decide if they would like to pick up the medication themselves or to have the medications delivered to them. Now for imagings, if it is a small test like X-Ray or Ultrasounds, then a technician can head to your location and perform the test there. But if it is a larger test like MRI or CT Scans, then the patient would receive an appointment date from the Imaging Center on when to go in and have the test done. 
After all of these have been completed, now all results need to be uploaded. All lab and imaging results will be uploaded into the system for the patient and the Primary Care Provider or ordering physician to see. The physician who was in charge or ordering all labs and imagings must be responsible for contacting the patient once all results have been uploaded and the physician must explain to the patient what the results were. With all of this, we plan on educating the patient and keeping healthcare easy for them instead of waiting hours to be seen in a physician lobby.

Measurable outcomes of progress are seeing all of our ideas come to life. We talk about what we want to see on the websites and applications and the team does hard work to provide us with amazing outcomes of our ideas and then from there we are able to continue to add or grow to our existing ideas.

We are constantly thinking of ideas and adding them to our website as we go. its such a great feeling to be able to see all of this finally falling into place since we are close to releasing our websites/applications live.

Another could be when we get feedback from our users on how we could improve the apps in some ways and when the changes have been made, you can see the appreciation for the changes and that's a great feeling as well.

Project managemnt is good. 

We provide the team with some new ideas and they take a day or two to discuss how many hours it would take to complete the tasks and they are usually spot on when delivering. 

If they are ever late(hardly ever), it could just be minor cause but it is not a big problem since they always deliver amazing pojects to us. And it would not be big delay, just like 2 days over max if needed because possibly an issue came up while working so we had to shift focus for a day or two then come back to the project which causes delay now.

I am impressed with how many people they have working with us. I am in contact with up to 4 different team members daily. And they all have different roles in the project so they are all informing me on the day's work. 

I am in constant communication with the team daily. We message everyday and we have video calls about 2-3 times a week. On Friday, the team send over detailed documents of work that has been done for the week. I look over all the work to be sure it is completed like they say it is. If there are any changes needed, then I will add them to my daily documents I send over to them and by the end of the week, then changes have been made.

They are usually very quick to make the changes as requested. And if there is any issue with a request, they will explain to me in detail as to why or why not we are able to add this functionality to our website/applications.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Excellent WebWorld could have done differently?

As of now, we are happy with the way our workflow is going. Thank you Excellent Web World for all the hard work and dedication you all have done for us. Thank you Mr Mayur Panchal, The CTO/Co-Founder, who is extremely hard working and dedicated to providing us with the best projects. He has gone above and beyond. He has put together a  phenomenal team for us. Our project Manager (Kv) is a very informal individual. He takes his time explaining in very fine detail about everything that is going on throughout our projects. 
Another 2 outstanding individuals that are in contact with me daily are Maulik(the PHP Tech Lead) and Vishal(the Flutter Tech Lead). These guys here are always available at any time of the day. Right now we are on an 11 1/2 hour time difference but that does not stop us from communicating and keeping our projects on track.
