The process for a boat owner to request a quote for a custom sail is inherently complex, involving precise measurements and specifications. • Custom Design & UX Strategy: They delivered a completely unique visual design that balances a classic, trustworthy, handcrafted brand aesthetic with modern, clean interfaces. The color palette, typography, and layout all feel premium and nautical without being clichéd.
• Advanced Content Management System (CMS): We received a tailor-made WordPress backend that is incredibly intuitive. We can now easily create new project galleries, update technical specifications for our materials, and manage a library of hundreds of high-resolution images without needing to touch a line of code.
• Sophisticated Custom Quote Form: This was a cornerstone of the project. Efelle built a multi-step, conditional form that intelligently guides users. For example, if a user selects "Racing Sail," the subsequent questions and field options change to gather specific racing-class measurements, unlike those for a "Cruising Sail." This drastically reduces incomplete and inaccurate quote requests.
• High-Performance Development: The site was built with a focus on performance from the ground up. We've moved from receiving vague emails asking "how much for a sail?" to receiving highly detailed, pre-qualified inquiries through the custom form. This has reduced the back-and-forth time for our sales team by at least a full business day per quote, allowing them to focus on closing deals rather than gathering basic information.

Furthermore, we consistently receive unsolicited compliments on the website from new and long-standing clients. A memorable instance was a yacht captain for a prominent sailing family who called specifically to praise the site's gallery. This combination of artistic eye and technical discipline is rare. They treated our brand with the same care we treat a customer's sail design.

This is a difficult question because the experience was so positive. If I were to offer one constructive thought, it would be to have introduced us to the ongoing support and maintenance team slightly earlier in the process. The project team was so seamless that the hand-off to the support team, while smooth, felt like a transition. Perhaps a brief introductory meeting two weeks before project completion could have made that feel even more continuous. However, this is a minor note on what was otherwise a flawless execution. We would not hesitate to recommend efelle to any manufacturing business looking to elevate its digital presence to a world-class level.

Efelle's primary liaison we worked with, Jasmine, was an absolute angel. She helped us navigate and troubleshoot and solve so many critical situation in the process of developing our new website. The process took longer than expected, but we think this was for the better since amazing work cannot and should not be rush and restricted to deadlines. In the end, Efelle followed through with all the nitty gritty details and helped us launch a remarkable new website.

The team sat with me to design the project and build out a fully customized website with a unique CMS system that's intuitive and easy to use. It pulls in a digital library and allows for independent page and blog building as well as manipulation of the pages/widgets individually. It makes for a custom-to-us foundation that we can evolve on without having to scrap systems in the future.

I’m the head of digital strategy at the National Nordic Museum of Ballard in Seattle.

What challenge were you trying to address with efelle creative?

We need efelle for a few things, including aligning our website more with our brand. As an institution, we need a major facelift for our website — we want to bring a more Scandinavian look, feel, and modern aesthetic to the website. 

On top of that, we need a CMS that allows us to be more nimble and flexible in terms of updating the website. That way, we can better react to events and push out new content. Finally, effelle needs to optimize the site because it’s slow and ranks poorly on Google. Beyond that, we want to ensure that we adhere to accessibility standards to make our site accessible to everyone. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The efelle team has rebuilt our site from scratch using their own CMS called FusionCMS. We’ve opted not to do a major rebrand in this project, but they’ve changed our color scheme a bit and introduced a new teal color to it. We’re using this new scheme across all of our marketing materials. Moreover, we work closely with efelle on keyword research. They’ve also developed content for us through their content developer. 

In terms of functionality, the site lets users buy and sell admission and event tickets. We can accept donations through the site, and it has a museum store where people can purchase various items. End users can contact us through the website, too.

What is the team composition?

We work with five key people from efelle, namely a project manager, a content developer, an SEO specialist, a designer, and a developer. More people are involved behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with efelle creative?

I found efelle through Clutch. I was looking for reviews of Seattle-based digital agencies, and they came up as a highly ranked vendor. Then, I talked to a few of their previous clients and received great feedback from them. After that, I interviewed the team in person and ultimately decided to hire them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $55,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We kicked off the partnership in October 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our website traffic is up by 28% since our relaunch. We’ve had events that influenced that, but everything seems to be trending in the right direction. Moreover, the time we need to update our site has significantly decreased — we can update the website twice as fast as before. 

How did efelle creative perform from a project management standpoint?

The efelle team’s project management skills are excellent. We use Basecamp as our main project management tool. To communicate, we use Google Meet, phone calls, and in-person meetings. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have integrity; the team has high standards and technical expertise. On top of that, they’re highly responsive. We receive quick solutions to any issues we have. 

Moreover, they’ve taken the time to learn about our brand and institution. In fact, they’ve come here and visited the museum to get a sense of our values. This means a lot to us, and their effort has been reflected in the final deliverable. 

Overall, efelle has become a trusted partner of our team; they’re more than just a vendor.

No, there aren’t any. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Invest time with efelle. Help them understand your goals, brand, and values. Beyond that, have an open mind about FusionCMS. Try some demos, and you’ll see that it’s a good CMS. It’s well-supported and fairly secure. Rather than using WordPress, Drupal, or other traditional CMS choices, try efelle’s FusionCMS. 

For context, using this CMS was one of the hard decisions we made. It was completely unknown to us and locked us into the relationship for the long term. We were also thinking about using WordPress. However, we still gave FusionCMS a go.
