What challenge were you trying to address with DD.NYC®?

We had a presentation that we wanted to use to get more exposure for Clutch. The goal was to start conveying thought leadership around the changes in B2B buying with the advent of AI. We had the basic concepts in a deck, but it wasn’t designed in a way that would be attractive for a conference presentation, so we needed help getting it there.

What was the scope of their involvement?

DD.NYC® took the existing deck and built a beautifully designed presentation that conveyed a sense of expertise and professionalism, making the audience want to pay attention. The deliverable was a redesigned slide deck purpose-built for webinars and on-stage presentations.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The presentation was created for a specific webinar that was already scheduled, but we’ve been able to leverage that webinar into two additional on-stage conference presentations. We’ve also received at least one partnership interest from the first webinar and, as mentioned previously, interest from two other conferences to give a version of the presentation.

How did DD.NYC® perform from a project management standpoint?

It was a short-term assignment, and DD.NYC® did a great job turning around the project. At one point, Anjelika, DD.NYC®'s creative director and owner got personally involved to ensure the deliverable was of the highest quality. Our primary form of communication was virtual meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

DD.NYC® knows how to deliver something that wows an audience in ways that are complementary to the actual content.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. I was extremely pleased with the outcome.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

DD.NYC® is responsible for developing our website. The team has already created our branding, so this is the second phase of the project. DD.NYC® is also responsible for maintenance and hosting. The team is supposed to design the site on Shopify, but they’ve switched to WooCommerce.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a project manager, Angelica, and 4–5 other teammates.

How did you come to work with DD.NYC®?

We found them through the Clutch website.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The second phase of the project started in January 2025, and it’s ongoing.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

We had a previous engagement with DD.NYC® for branding. I trusted them and paid the full amount upfront. The project's scope was outlined over 10 weeks, and we expected the website to go live around July 2025. However, we experienced a series of non-communication and vague responses about what was going on.

By August 2025, I was requesting firm deadlines because the deadline was being extended further and further. On September 9, 2025, I received a message stating that DD.NYC® had scrapped the website and switched to a different platform. I was new to this information.

By October 16, 2025, the website was still not complete, and I requested a refund. I met with Angelica, and she assured me that they would get back on track and expedite the launch. She stated that the issues were occurring with the Shopify platform.

Two days before the launch, DD.NYC® still hadn’t done any basic functionality for the website. On November 15, 2025, the team had still not taken any steps to go live. I had to ask them to do a series of small tasks, such as setting up the cart and arranging the pictures. The site went live on November 18, 2025, but it still had numerous issues.

Angelica offered a number of courtesy non-billable hours to compensate for the delay at the site. However, she sent me a message stating that they would retroactively bill me for all the additional work. DD.NYC® has refused to fix the cart, so customers can’t shop on the website. International customers are unable to place orders, and numerous issues persist.

So far, Angelica has been unresponsive, and I have to find a new web developer to fix everything. I’ve sent an email to the project manager asking them to complete the basic functions so the website can continue for US customers. The site remains buggy, and the project manager stated that she would address the issue, but no changes have been made.

How did DD.NYC® perform from a project management standpoint?

DD.NYC® did a poor job. The project manager made great efforts to learn and do well, but the support from Angelica was poor. There was a lack of communication, which ultimately affected the project manager. I don’t want to blame the project manager because she was taking orders from Angelica.

DD.NYC® took on the FIFA World Cup as a client at the same time they were building my website. It seems like we got pushed to the side because they were promoting the FIFA World Cup. My website was a 3-product e-commerce site, and the project management was poor.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There’s nothing I can point out at this point. They overpromised their capabilities and weren’t well-versed in building e-commerce sites.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would advise new clients to ask in-depth questions about their capabilities in e-commerce. They should get clear information about who is working on the project and what expertise they have. They should also get a clear understanding of the deadlines and timelines.

I paid upfront because I had worked with them before and had no issues. However, paying up front seemed to cost me later because they dragged out the project.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would advise other people to do their due diligence before settling on DD.NYC® is based on who they’ve worked with, as they’ve collaborated with high-level clients, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they have the capability.

The only evidentiary support of the partnership are the colors, and images that produced my brand guidelines which I have used to start manufacturing my product.

Qualitative data indicates that our new design and branding was "leap years better" than previous branding.   We get many compliments from users regarding the design.

Understanding our needs as a young business and refining suggestions based on our input.  We not only felt heard, but also shepherded.  They are a true partner - our success is their success. They really helped us realize our vision, guiding us along the way. They now feel not like a consultant but more like part of our family... because they care.

Are there any areas for improvement or something DD.NYC® could have done differently?

Not necessarily their fault but because my dev team was located across the globe, calendars weren't always aligned and therefore getting the design team and my software engineering team on the same page took longer working solely out of Figma and Slack.  In the future, I will try to schedule a few virtual meetings which may add efficiency.

What was the scope of their involvement?

DD.NYC® designed and developed our website from scratch using Figma and WordPress. The team created an introductory video that plays when users open the website. DD.NYC® also implemented dynamic designs that appear when users scroll through the website. The team created a scrolling page for each of the seven sections of the site, so users don’t have to go to multiple tabs to see all the information. DD.NYC® provided general support, maintenance, and hosting for the site.

We worked with five teammates from DD.NYC®: a project manager, a design director, and three web developers.

How did you come to work with DD.NYC®?

We found DD.NYC® on Google and chose them among 5 to 10 other companies because they had good testimonials. We felt good energy in our introductory meeting with the team, specifically with Brett. DD.NYC® showed us other sports projects they were working on that were soon to be released, which gave us great energy and confidence in hiring them.

We worked together from January to August 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We didn't have any metrics on our old website, but now we can see that our new website gets around 100 hits a day. The traffic comes from Google searches, word of mouth, and social media. We don't publicize or link our website to our social media often, so the traffic is organic. The team delivered an accessible website that met our expectations.

How did DD.NYC® perform from a project management standpoint?

DD.NYC® delivered the work on time and on budget. We communicated via Zoom, email, Google Docs, and Dropbox.

What did you find most impressive about them?

DD. NYC®'s adaptability was their biggest strength. We asked for many changes after getting the initial designs, and even when we presented difficult problems, they adapted well and found solutions for us. Moreover, their web development and design teams were very strong and able to make any vision we were looking for. We're a very niche organization compared to many of their partners, and the team was able to capture what we were looking for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although DD.NYC® was adaptable, they sometimes pushed back on our change requests. We were the client at the end of the day, and I understand they were the experts. However, there were times when we told them exactly what we wanted, and they continued to ask questions and took back more than I would have liked. Still, this made our relationship stronger.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give DD.NYC® as much information as possible because every business and organization is different. The team might not totally understand your business, so you need to tell them precisely what your goals are and why you're creating a new website. Also, stick to your calendar and ensure you have a good cadence with how often you meet and when you expect things to be done. DD.NYC® prioritizes the schedule, but they're still human, so if you're being lackadaisical about getting results, they might do the same.

DD.NYC®’s work has resulted in our website and packaging designs. Although the project is still in progress, we expect to see measurable results in sales from the packaging and website design by the end of the year.

Project management had been rocky due to inconsistent communication and project delays. However, Anjelika had rectified the issues in a timely fashion by setting up a timeline for the project that both parties agreed upon. As time went on, project management drastically improved.

Raising money for the fund is difficult. Venture capital fundraising is one of the most crowded markets in the world, with 1.2 million asset managers raising funds at any one time and only about 330,000 high-net-worth individuals in the world. As a result, there are four asset managers for every high-net-worth individual, making it highly competitive.

DD.NYC®'s primary role is to create our collateral. They're a digital design agency, creating print collateral, teasers, one-pagers, and a website. The team is redoing our website, which hasn't been launched yet.

The team has gone above and beyond to help us refine our messaging. They've also helped us with our social media, which is more about presenting thought leadership. We don’t advertise our product to remain compliant with SEC regulations, but DD.NYC® communicates our message and mission on social media.

One thing that could’ve helped is if they explained the back-end/front-end development process a bit more. DD.NYC was responsible for the full redesign and relaunch of the IWT website. The scope included initial art direction, homepage design, and a complete redesign of inner pages with multiple rounds of feedback and refinement. Once designs were approved, DD.NYC handled both front-end and back-end development, plugin evaluation and setup, and quality assurance across the site.

A major deliverable was the successful launch of the redesign, including migration of approximately 1,000 existing pages, which involved a mix of automated and manual processes. DD.NYC also provided training for our internal team to support the migration effort, managed implementation of key site features, and ensured a clean and functional handoff.

While we experienced some delays, as is common in projects of this scale, DD.NYC was solution-oriented throughout. They helped us work through challenges by pulling in extra resources when needed, staying flexible, and remaining readily available for calls to talk through options. They consistently pushed for decisions to keep the project moving forward and maintained strong communication between the teams. One area for potential improvement would be adding a bit more detail to documentation and handoffs. At times, the information shared was fairly high-level, which made internal alignment slightly more challenging. A bit more clarity in breakdowns could help streamline communication across teams.

We’re developing a wellness-focused, mixed-use community that required everything from branding, a logo, a name, and website to signage for the apartments that aligns with our brand. At the same time, we’re working on a health and wellness app that already had a name, but needed a logo and help with the UX/UI design.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Through numerous productive meetings, brainstorming sessions, and reviews, we’ve successfully established a complete brand for both our community and app. We’re currently advancing on the community website and the app's UX/UI design, and we’re extremely pleased with the results so far, making the collaboration enjoyable and impactful at every stage.
