Despite paying over $55,000 and receiving reports of 900+ hours billed, many key features were either delayed, poorly implemented, or misrepresented. Several tasks were billed with inflated hours (for example, 25 hours charged for adjusting a 1% fee, when even they later admitted it was a one-line change).

Promises such as “instant payouts after $2,000 in Stripe deposits” were never backed by any evidence — I later confirmed directly with Stripe that such statements were false.

Requests for deliverables (source code, assets, documentation) were constantly delayed, postponed, or tied to additional payments, despite this being explicitly covered by our NDA agreement.

Both Irina and Andrey repeatedly gave assurances that urgent matters would be handled “the next day,” yet they consistently failed to deliver. On multiple occasions, they contradicted themselves — first confirming features or deadlines, and later denying or reframing them as misunderstandings.

Communication often shifted blame back to me as the client, while critical deadlines (June, July, and August launch targets) were consistently missed without accountability.

Features like instant payouts and commission adjustments were either delayed, misrepresented, or falsely promised.
Stripe confirmed no such $2,000 payout requirement existed, contradicting what Irina and Andrey repeatedly told me.
End result: after 8 months, I do not have a fully functional or reliable app to launch, and the delays created significant financial and reputational damage.

Project Management:

CodeBright’s project management was extremely poor. Irina and Andrey consistently promised deadlines (March, June, July, August 2025) and failed to deliver every time. Whenever I raised urgent needs, the response was always “tomorrow” or “next week,” but those commitments were never fulfilled.

Instead of addressing issues, they created confusion, shifted blame back to me, or used excuses like “miscommunication.” Even after I confirmed changes multiple times, they asked me again and again, wasting time and billing more hours.

Communication was also unreliable: they rarely provided interpreters as agreed, ignored urgent messages, and only responded when it was convenient for them. Their pattern was delay, excuse, and deflection — never accountability.

The result: nothing was ever delivered on time, and my needs as a client were dismissed repeatedly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Most Impressive or Unique:

Honestly, nothing positive stood out. What was unique about CodeBright was how they managed to waste time and inflate hours while delivering almost nothing usable.

Irina and Andrey were consistent in one thing: creating delays and confusion. Even the simplest tasks (like changing a percentage from 0.5% to 1%) were exaggerated into 25+ hours of work.

If there is something “unique” here, it’s how they turned every request into an excuse for more time and money, while still failing to deliver.

Are there any areas for improvement or something CodeBright could have done differently?

CodeBright should have been transparent and professional. They inflated hours, delayed deliverables, and constantly pushed priorities to “tomorrow,” creating unnecessary stress and blocking progress.

The service provider responded on September 26, 2025.

DepozitApp is now live in the AppStore (Sept 23 2025), confirming the full codebase we delivered is complete and functional.

Scope/Timeline

The original estimate was 640 hours (768 with buffer). At the client’s request we added major features, raising the approved total to 850 hours (1,020 with buffer), approved Mar 12 2025. On Mar 11 the client agreed to a new launch target of July 15. After third-party dependencies required another shift, the client set a final release date of Aug 28, when both iOS/Android apps launched.

Hours/Tasks

All 873.9 billable hours are documented in Jira and remain within the approved estimate plus buffer. The cited “25-hour 1 % fee change” required coordinated backend, mobile, testing, and redeployment work—not a one-line edit.

Instant Payouts

The instant-payout feature is implemented; Stripe requires a 60-day account history before activation. Standard payouts worked immediately.

Deliverables/Payment

On Aug 29 the client asked to put the project on hold and requested all deliverables. After assigning new tasks on Aug 30 and demanding a full transfer over Labor Day weekend, we delivered the entire codebase and assets on Sept 1, the next business day.

When the client later claimed files were missing, we re-sent the repository on Sept 5.

Despite receiving the codebase twice—and later using it to publish the live app—the client filed chargebacks on all cleared payments for seven months of work and still owes the final balance.

Communication

The client mentioned a need for Spanish-English interpretation only on our first call and not again until the dispute. Despite our efforts—visuals, flowcharts, detailed emails—language differences occasionally caused misunderstandings and delays.

All supporting records are securely stored and can be provided to anyone upon request. We stand by the quality and completeness of our work and our good-faith efforts to deliver.

We wanted to design and build the software infrastructure of our market service platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

CodeBright provides web UI/UX design for our web-based platform, including defining user personas. The team has been helping us create a system where users can identify their roles with their specific information and qualifications, including when they’re willing and able to perform those roles based on the demand for that position and how many hours. This allows users to passively sit back and wait for job offers from their existing employers or receive job offers from a broader marketplace.

Conversely, the platform allows employers to search for a dozen different roles simultaneously and specify the requirements for the positions. Overall, the platform effectively simulates a dynamic marketplace.

Currently, we’re testing the platform before launching it.

Everyone I’ve spoken to has said that CodeBright’s work looks professional. In addition, it has helped us acquire excellent investors.

CodeBright has exceeded our expectations in terms of meeting deadlines — we’re three months ahead of schedule, which is a very welcome change compared to our previous developers. Regarding communication and tools, we use Trello, and they’re always very responsive and get back to me within 24–48 hours.

What makes CodeBright stand out among other companies is their flexibility to negotiate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could enhance their communication because we’ve had periods where I’m not entirely aware of what they’ve been doing. I’m not talking about unnecessary meetings, but maybe a short email saying what they’ve done the last week could be good. Nonetheless, I’ve brought it up to them; they’ve taken the feedback well.

People operate based on incentives, so I recommend creating incentives and structures that could profit everyone.

We found CodeBright through a referral and also found them online. We read reviews about them, had an intro call. We liked the team, decided to give them a try in a form of a discovery phase, and stuck with them for the rest of the project.

At first, they designed and developed a CRM for our parent Exteriour Housing Maintenance Company. They first started with a discovery phase to see whether we wil be a great match. Then they created an MVP for our parent company, which allowed us to show it to potential clients, to the market, get some feedback from potential clients.

Then we started working with CodeBright in 2-week sprints, with a demo after each sprint. After that, once we had a market-ready product, we decided to sell it as a SaaS CRM to the companies that are outside of the service area of our parent company.

CodeBright created a SaaS CRM for Building Exterior Maintenance Businesses. They were very communicative and flexible. Our team always had direct access to their development and management team, so the workflow was very responsive.

Overall, CodeBright created a great software for us that has unique features that no one else has, and the whole process of creation was a pleasure.

The project management was great. They regularly met deadlines and had demos for us every 2 weeks. They were always willing to answer any questions that we had.

Their communication and openness to new ideas are one of a kind. This came as a good combination with CodeBright's strong development team. CodeBright provides access to full scope development, allowing us to build an entire product using the same company.

I’m the founder and CEO of a digital networking company that focuses on digital business cards through near-field communication. We’re located in Alabama.

I hired CodeBright to develop a web application. A previous software company had dropped the ball on my project — they were misrepresenting who they were and I didn’t trust the work they were doing.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They designed and developed our web application from scratch using Python, SQL, and JSON. The web app is hosted on an AWS server. CodeBright also handled the UI/UX design for the app, including layout, typography, and color scheme. I used their design for my company’s branding and updated our website to match the app. We’re now working with CodeBright on additional projects.

Given how short my web app development timeline was, I gave them a lot of creative liberty and let them make a lot of assumptions about what I wanted. They didn’t have time to slow down the process by asking every single little question they encountered.

I started working with CodeBright in October 2021. Our initial project was completed in January 2022, and we’re now working together on additional projects.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They knocked it out of the park. Their developers came up with some awesome ideas and proposed alternative approaches that were so much better than what I’d suggested. I ended up liking their design work on the app so much that I updated all of my company’s branding to match.

How did CodeBright perform from a project management standpoint?

I’d give their project management a 100% score. We communicated through Zoom and email. They’re extremely responsive, and they worked fast. I never waited on a response. Just yesterday, for example, I responded to a question late in the afternoon, and I had their email when I woke up this morning. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

CodeBright’s communication was impressive, and their price was extremely competitive. I definitely felt like I got what I paid for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

This was probably partly my fault, but when we had conversations, sometimes I’d talk about a lot of ideas. They’d quote me for those ideas, and at the end of the project, there were about eight different estimates for those ideas to take into account, which made it difficult to determine the project’s total price. Based on my feedback, CodeBright is now tracking all additional items in one document with descriptive notes of every meeting for reference.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Leverage CodeBright’s intelligence and creativity. As you work with them, ask CodeBright’s developers for their opinions and ideas for making your project better. Be humble, and don’t think that your ideas are the right ones.

CodeBright’s team are experts at this, they’re very intelligent people, and they have really good ideas. If I had tried to rein them in all the time instead of listening, I would’ve missed out on a lot of really cool features.

I’m the CEO and founder of a market telematics installation platform that enables end-users to book technicians.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They primarily develop software platforms to automate the processes from purchase orders to invoicing. Mobile apps are available on Android and iOS. On the mobile apps, the automation involves scheduling, automated invoicing, purchase orders, and more. The services are custom forms for our third-party clients. 

We’ve worked together to create the wireframe. The app also tracks navigation for track mileage to or from locations, so we can automatically update the trip mileage the technicians can get paid for. For the mileage, that gets automatically placed in the invoice. We do everything from scratch.

Together with Andrey (CEO), I work with four people from CodeBright. The people I collaborate with are responsible for managing the project and ensuring that everything aligns properly.

We track their work through what we share with each other. As we continue to move forward with the project, they continue to open up spaces for me to see and test things out.

CodeBright’s patience is impressive. Their attentiveness and ability to solve problems also stand out. I highly appreciate that they don't say no to things.

This is not necessarily a necessity, but it would be nice to know what’s the reason behind everything. They can be more open to that, but I appreciate that whenever I have questions and ask the “whys”, they always respond. The team walks us through what they do, but I just want to know too much and I want to know the most.

With any development company, just understand the process of what you’re trying to get completed and be able to explain in detail what it is you want. I trust CodeBright’s skills and as long as the process that I’m laying out works and the functionalities are there, then those are my only recommendations.

I found CodeBright by searching for app developers in my area (I happen to live in the same area). I wanted to hire a company with a local presence so I could be more connected to them.

I created a mock-up of what I wanted the app to look like, with the various buttons, menu structure, etc. Also we created a database with all the quiz questions. For each quiz question we designated one correct answer and three incorrect answers. The CodeBright team took our raw materials and brought the app to life.

I’ve worked with a development team from overseas, I’ve hired an individual developer who sat in my office for months and unfortunately we didn’t get where we needed to be. I decided to find an agency to work with instead and that’s how I found CodeBright. After a number of calls, a lunch with a co-founder- I was confident I found the right team to work with.

I wrote up requirements for the system’s logic and design. They gave feedback on those requirements based on their experience and knowledge. So, in addition to development, they provided expertise and a second opinion.

I mostly communicated with one person who was a project manager. 

How did you come to work with CodeBright?

I really wanted a company I could trust with the development as this was my first application, and I wanted someone with knowledge of the industry. 

I ended up going with CodeBright because I was able to meet with the CEO face-to-face. They gave a brief background of their services and other companies they’d worked with. 

I thought they were the entire package, including their knowledge of advertisements, marketing, and how to launch the app within the iOS and Google Play Store.

We’ve invested about $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We signed the contract in December of 2019, and they began work in January of 2020. We wrapped up the initial project in April of 2020, but we’re still communicating about future app enhancements and maintenance.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They flawlessly executed an app that’s free for download, subscription-based, and allows in-app purchases. The initial app has launched to the iOS and Android app stores, and it’s been functioning properly. 

It’s targeting a Hispanic demographic, and a lot of my users are in Latin America. They were able to create different price points based on the user location, which has been very helpful.

They were able to release a couple of weeks ahead of time, which has helped me substantially. That timing was beneficial as people are home without things to do during these times, and the app is a game for game nights.

How did CodeBright perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, they were great. They were easy to talk to. They have a business process in place that allows for collaboration and questions. They answer questions immediately and make themselves available to their clients. 

Since I had an outside designer, they needed to communicate a lot about updates and version controls with documents, designs, and content. They were able to manage that properly because their availability was so excellent. The project manager made himself accountable and did a great job of relaying my feedback or questions to the group.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re well-prepared. They had a proactive approach where they would let me know what was needed for the next phase of the project. That was helpful because it kept me accountable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At the beginning of the process, I submitted a draft of what I wanted. I was hoping it would be a placeholder for when I had the final versions of designs and content. There was one instance where they did a full release of an older version that I had submitted. I would have appreciated it if they would have said, “Hey, is this really what you want? We’re going to implement all of the designs, and this is what it will look like.”

This was just a minor miscommunication, and they were able to rectify it the next day. It didn’t halt the project or add to the labor costs or anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It depends on the person and the company. But, I would say to be sure about what you want. Make sure you have well thought out plans, but at the same time be able to adjust your requirements. 

Also, if you’re a beginner, don’t be afraid if you don’t have technical knowledge. CodeBright will be great at walking you through the process. They taught me how it was going to work, what would be expected of me, and what they would be able to provide.

We initially contacted Code Bright to help us produce a social media application for the iOS App Store.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our app is a social media photo-sharing platform, and the goal is to enable users to tag and interact with different clothing items in each photo. Any tagged item of clothing will provide details like size relative to the size of the person as well as purchasing options.

They built the application from the ground up based on project requirements that we provided, and we launched on the App Store but are currently working to extend it to the Google Play Store as well.

I spoke mainly with two people from their team, Alexander (Frontend Developer, CodeBright) and Andrey (CEO, CodeBright).

How did you come to work with CodeBright?

I found them online through a Google search for companies local to the Washington, D.C. area. They had great reviews, and after talking with them on the phone I was impressed with their knowledge and ability to explain various technical aspects, so we decided to engage with them.

I would say we’ve spent between $30,000–$40,000.

We started in December 2018 and launched the first version of our app in August 2019 but are continuing to work together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As far as numbers, we don’t have a lot of information so far, but the users we’ve talked to really like the interface and the usability. All of the functions seem to be working well so far, and feedback has been really positive, so we are very satisfied with the quality of CodeBright’s work.

How did CodeBright perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is definitely one of their team’s strong suits, especially in the developmental phase. Once you’ve finished scoping and are putting things together, making everything functional, they do a great job with keeping you in the loop on what they’re currently testing.

If there are any issues, they get back to you very quickly and will do phone or video conferences readily depending on what is most convenient for you. It really makes for a very easy, seamless, and frustration-free process.

I think at a certain price point, everyone can code and create your product, so standing out really comes down to your personal touch and your ability to work with someone. Don’t be too rigid. It’s safe to be open in the brainstorming stage with them because they have a lot that they can bring to the table. Starting your cooperation with them early on will help you get the most out of the project in the long run.
