What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I've really enjoyed working with the Capital Numbers team. Specifically, they have a couple of core strengths that set them apart in the marketplace of WordPress developers. These include:

1. Communication. The team is prompt and sticks to scheduled meetings. They are always on chat and easily accessible.
2. Intuitiveness. At times I only provided basic details in regards to daily tasks though sometimes complex. The CP team was able to understand what I was looking for and had the intuition to deliver the vision I was hoping for. They also have a good understanding of UX / UI and made great recommendations as well as highlighted potential issues with my logic flow.
3. Dedication. My core objectives, some of the much harder development tasks I had, were achieved even at high levels of difficultly. This included making site-wide sweeping changes to an existing theme while not breaking it. At times the CP team worked on the weekend to hit my deadlines.

Some other things I think are cool about the CP team is that they explain the tech stack they are building and why they are making certain development decisions. This was great for understanding and learning in general. If you are looking for a professional, punctual and dedicated development team, look no further. The women and men at Capital Numbers are truly top-level.

I’m the principal engineer and CEO of a software development company. We specialize in mobile apps and cloud technology.

What challenge were you trying to address with Capital Numbers?

We had a big project to develop an SMS platform, so we needed development resources.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Capital Numbers provides us with mobile development and frontend services. They’ve worked on several projects; the SMS messaging app was the first.

For that particular project, the first phase was gathering requirements and then building prototypes and basic functionality. They worked in Vue, React, and for DevOps, we used Azure. We did the infrastructure, and they helped with frontend and all of the UI, as well as the imported SET. From there, they did a dashboard. Capital Numbers made sure we could provide the client with a report of all messages sent and their captured responses. The final phase is maintenance and support.

They’ve built other mobile applications with us, for which they’ve done extensive research. They’ve also taken the role of R&D in other projects, presenting us with ideas of how we can accomplish our goals.

They were referred by a friend. We were looking for a Vue developer that had experience with React.

The developer does a good job and is a great fit to our company culture. They think creatively and come up with good solutions. We’ve closed on at least five projects since the engagement began. Moreover, revenue has increased to roughly $80,000 due to their involvement.

How did Capital Numbers perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re quite responsive, and they have excellent communication and follow-through skills. We work in scrum and have daily standups via Slack. We also use DevOps to plan sprints and have a monthly meeting to plan our sprints and reflect on them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their willingness to be creative with the tasks we give them is excellent. Sometimes, we present an overall goal rather than give exact requirements, and they come up with great ways to meet it. They go above and beyond, working to deliver even if it means working past the usual workday. They’re also open to new technologies, which we throw at them frequently.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They need to work on the application’s documentation from a user perspective. They could use more layman’s terms to explain their solution.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be prepared and plan your project well. Also, be open to communication and empower them to be part of the solution, not just the ones who implement it.

We build the project in python. The first step was for Capital Numbers to learn the codebase and then set up payment integration. Since then they have helped us launch the V1 product, complete a rebrand, and scale to thousands of users!

Our main point of contact is our developer Ranit. Ranit has been a great individual to work with and has done a fantastic job of helping us achieve our goals. He works hard and goes above and beyond to help us resolve issues and grow the application. In addition, we also have had the pleasure of working with Arghadip as project manager. He has helped us through some issues and has been able to find us great additional resources for design.

We did a trial with 3 different companies for 1 month giving each of them 3 retailers and found Capital Numbers were the best in terms of professionality, code efficiency and quick turnarounds.

Capital Numbers have helped us to achieve what we aimed for within the deadlines. Now we have the data from different retailers , an efficient code which is scheduled to run daily . It has helped us to do our product pricing analysis , stock availability and sentimental analysis which has been great insight for business.

We mostly spoke over Microsoft teams and project was tracked on Capital numbers team viewer. We had a good experience as there was attention to even small details. The issues were sorted out quickly and had an amazing work experience with the developer.

Project Manager Arghadip took continuous feedbacks every month which meant they wanted to improve . He was always ready to sort out issues and help. The requirements were precisely communicated and had an amazing experience.

We initially worked with our representative Abhijit (Head of Creative Services) who organised the project with Pushpal (Solutions Head) and Soumita (Tech Lead). After deliverables were set I corresponded Soumita until the project was completed. It was a very smooth process.

Customers and staff love the new design as it communicates information more clearly and prevents confusion amongst different merchandising campaigns.

Their communication was professional without wasting time. Communication begins in email and then expands to meetings, Teamwork(for project management), and Skype for instant messaging.

They are always professional, trustworthy, and deliver on their promises. We have worked with them for almost 10 years and that alone is impressive.

Sometimes international communication can cause delays, however, this is already known and we take it into consideration for all projects.

CN had great reviews from reputable companies, and is quite large. I would rather choose a web development agency that is larger because they are more established, making them more knowledgeable and less flaky.

We are making a whole web platform using React, Node, and AWS. It has 3 user types: admin, student, and teacher. The key deliverables are a basic learning management system with special valuable innovations for the student learning experience.

We started with a free consultation about the project scope and requirements. Then, we hired 5 people on the waterfall project: a project manager, 2 react developers, 1 node developer, and 1 ui/ux designer. We recently hired another react dev and node dev to run agile with.

The project was well defined by the consulting team and we were given a price estimate at the beginning of the project. The team has stuck to the requirements well and so the price is the exact same.

Capital Numbers has worked closely with us throughout the project despite the Waterfall nature of the project.

Constant and deliberate. Every point of contact was efficient. They were also open to answering any questions we had.

Maybe some more consultation on how to establish a scalable web platform, but I assume that their developers figured that out on their own.

We are very satisfied with the great outcome we had and it is considered a new era for our website and marketing strategy and we are keen to work with Capital Numbers on other multiple projects.

I am the president of Reformation Services LLC. We started as a general marketing consultancy and in 2017, we decided to build our own SaaS.

What challenge were you trying to address with Capital Numbers?

Capital Numbers performed two main tasks. One was managing ad campaigns for a direct to consumer SaaS product that I built. They also assisted with staffing the and day to day management of writing and curation services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I ended up hiring almost a dozen workers to curate news. They found writers and other people who were well-educated and able to understand the basics of the news industry. Then they hired them to work on the project and got them up to speed pretty quickly.

Capital Numbers eventually helped us build a cryptocurrency newsfeed. It's a very expensive news service that helps people find news on cryptocurrencies. The news service is powered by a mixture of computer algorithms that sorts news. Then our curators make sure that everything looks good and is newsworthy. The platform includes a news terminal with streaming headlines. Once people pay to have access to it, they can filter and search for news. 

Capital Numbers also set up some ad campaigns that were responsive to different keywords and different markets. 

What is the team composition?

I had one senior manager and about 11 workers at the peak of our engagement. I worked with the manager on billing and personnel issues. It was also a nice structure because I could ask a single person how much everyone is making, what they're working on, and how they were performing. 

I also had direct communication with the workers so that I could give them day-to-day tasks.

How did you come to work with Capital Numbers?

I met them at a conference in Chicago.

How much have you invested in them?

We've spent about $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2017, and I still have one person working for me right now.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I stuck with Capital Numbers for so long because they did a really nice job ensuring that I was satisfied with the results that I was paying for. Importantly, they managed the workers as well, which took an immense amount of responsibility off my plate. They did a really nice of handling that, and if I was ever dissatisfied, they gave me credit towards some other service to make me happy. They even offered a refund and that saved me a lot of time.

That was nice to see a lot of flexibility. They weren’t just a development and coding outsource shop. They really did whatever was needed to make this project successful, even if it wasn’t exactly what they originally had set up to do.

The platform was ultimately acquired by a suitor abroad. At the time, after the acquisition, the foreign suitor hired many of the writers from Capital Numbers to continue to operate the product. It was a very good outcome.

How did Capital Numbers perform from a project management standpoint?

They did a very nice job. When I noticed there was an issue with a worker, the manager handled it by fixing the problem or replacing them within a week or two. They would also find replacement workers very quickly which was great.

A big thing that they did was manage the schedule for this project. They actually extended their office hours for my project and had workers working overnight at their homes and coming in early to the office.

They did a really nice job of using screen monitoring software as well. I always was able to look at people’s progress and to make sure that they were making progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were flexible regarding scheduling and various tasks. They almost never said no, and they always figured out a way to do get things done. For example, they figured out a way to operate 24/7 and took on several tasks they've never done before. They had never managed journalists or created ad campaigns in the crypto industry before. I didn’t expect that they could do everything I needed, but ultimately, they did, which was a pleasant surprise.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would have appreciated more frequent reporting from their senior management. They would always respond and if there was an urgent issue, but I don’t think they did as much as they could have in terms of regular reporting. Maybe some advice for them would be to just offer regular weekly updates about the status of the team and the status of the project.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I have recommended them to other colleagues of mine who were looking for a good outsourcing agency. Capital Numbers is going to be a little more expensive, but you have to bear in mind the opportunity cost of your time in finding those workers yourself. Just do a cost analysis of how much more money you think you could save by trying to hire and manage the project yourself, versus the premium you are paying to Capital Numbers to handle that for you. You can start with a few workers so you can analyze the results and determine if the benefits outweigh the costs. In my case, it did.
