Our website was janky and we went looking for a company that could help us fix the issues, clean it up and make it look good. Busy Human was just the company we were looking for. They are fantastic to work with. Very responsive and upfront with their pricing.

Timeline was great! I'm certain it was me that was holding it up. They would send an email with a question or clarification and if I didn't respond, they would follow up. They helped me understand the process since it is very different than what I do on a daily basis. I appreciated them allowing me to take the time to process and understand the project completely. I never felt rushed or under pressure to make a decision.

• WordPress Setup: Set up the WordPress site that will host the pre-login public content 
• Rebuild: Rebuild main pages
• Widget App Setup: The widget is a custom app that provides membership features, login, payment, subscription management, and access to members-only content. (aka "Web App")
• Resource Search / Finder: Ability to view a list of available resources, filter by type, search by correctly spelled name. 
• Authentication: Users will be able to sign in, sign up, and reset their passwords. 
• Subscription Management: Customers can setup a subscription, view their subscription, and manage their subscription
• Design Refresh: Busy Human will touch up up the designs for the main public-facing pages a bit, at its discretion. 
• Stripe Subscription Setup: The app will use stripe to capture payments and manage subscriptions.
• Airtable Setup: Use Airtable (or similar) to manage and publish members-only content (e.g. canva templates) and sync with the widget / web app.

Each week, I would recieve an email my project manager with many updates their team had been working on (photos, links, etc.).

The PM, along with the rest of the team, has delivered items much sooner than I anticipated, and they are always quick to respond to any messages, questions, etc. I have.

They genuinely care about their clients, and it goes far beyond their services. From our inital meeting, I could tell that they work well together. Each of the people working on my project listens, understands the visions I have, financial challenges, etc. They are always happy to answer any questions I have regarding the scope of work or completely unrelated to our project. 

Seriously, I am so thankful to have found them and I couldn't imagine working with any other team. Busy Human will be my go-to for any website, custom application, etc. I have.

Busy Human was hired to fix a crashing website, update the templates and tools used on our website, and provide a touchup of our website to make it look more professional. The deliverable was a stable, functional website with updated content and contact information.

A functional website

They kept me updated as they were stabilizing the website. When that was complete, they reached out to me to confirm the website was stable and then asked for changes. Their communication was timely, their work was accurate, and they were very professional to work with.

Very relatable as a business owner and easy to work with. Upfront and accurate pricing with timelines that made sense.

Not really - they were overly direct with what was in scope and what was out of scope, so perhaps a little bedside manner. However, that's a catch-22, and a minor issue at best.

It is too soon to see any measurable outcomes as of yet. But I feel proud to share this website/portfolio with prospective clients. Bekah Roberts, the Marketing Specialist has been wonderful in helping me, answering my many questions and forwarding change requests in a timely and cheerful manner

I’m the managing director of a digital marketing agency. We provide strategic content and design services for our clients in the B2B space and high tech.

What challenge were you trying to address with Busy Human?

We were trying to assure we could provide our clients with a full range of services when it came to web development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve built websites and apps for us. The initial phase is when we do the scoping. Our team explains what we need, and they ask us questions. There are back and forth emails and meetings to ensure the scope is clearly defined. Then, they give us a bid price and if it’s right, we move forward. If it isn’t, we go back and look into what we can change or adjust to make it fit within our budget.

From there, the next phase is implementation. We hold a kickoff meeting and our teams get together. Busy Human starts on the project and reports to us on a daily basis. From our side, they direct what we need to provide to them. They complete the project and then we’re all done.

We work with 3–4 of their team members.

How did you come to work with Busy Human?

They were recommended by someone I know. I communicated with them, and they put me in contact with the right person at Busy Human, and we got started.

We’ve invested about $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in April 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were looking to get about 200 responses and interactions from potential customers through the website and web app; we received 850. Our expectations were definitely exceeded.

How did Busy Human perform from a project management standpoint?

We mostly communicate through video calls and phone calls. We met in person for the first time a few weeks ago; it had been completely remote up until then. As for project management tools, we utilize Wrike and Microsoft Teams.

Communication is excellent. I’ve worked with many companies, and Busy Human is by far the best in the way they communicate. Their team overcommunicates everything they do and is very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It has to be their responsiveness and expertise. Busy Human is knowledgeable and smart about the services they provide. They’re sophisticated solution providers, and I’d trust and put them up against much larger companies and vendors who do the same kind of work.

Additionally, their team is very nimble. That’s because of their size and ability to turn projects around. When we have a request, they’re great about getting back to us quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything I’d have them do differently. Busy Human is proactive in checking in and touching base. They report progress and service challenges; they’re pretty perfect.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d encourage you to share as much information as you can with Busy Human. Be as transparent as possible from the very beginning. Share your concerns, hopes for the project, and pricing concerns with them right upfront. They’ll work with you to accommodate whatever you need.

I’m the director of content for SynergySuite, a restaurant technology company that provides backend software for various restaurant chains.

What challenge were you trying to address with Busy Human?

We had an outdated site that didn’t reflect the sophistication of the software we were selling. Our website needed to be modernized, easier to navigate, and have a better user flow for our prospective clients.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We were moving from a WYSIWYG platform onto WordPress. Busy Human built the entire backend. A member of our marketing team did the frontend design, then provided the files to Busy Human which showcased the look and feel we wanted. Then their team began the development.

What is the team composition?

Jonathan (Owner, Busy Human) was our primary contact, and we also worked with two other members of his team that would sit in on calls and work with us. They may have had additional people working on the backend, but I’m not sure.

How did you come to work with Busy Human?

I had worked with Jonathan in a previous position of mine. When he founded his own company, and I moved to another position, I knew that based on past experiences that Jonathan was the type of person who listens to his customer’s needs and is methodical about ensuring everything is taken care of. I knew they would be an excellent fit for what we were looking for. Since our company is growing, Jonathan was able to work with us on a variety of budget options and price points.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent roughly $11,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Busy Human on the platform between December 2018–March 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After an internal QA process, our site is set to go live this week. I’m anticipating working with Jonathan and his team in the future on new pages and other features. Throughout the engagement, we were focused on the look and feel and UX of the platform, so we plan on tracking metrics in terms of time spent on the site. There have also been SEO improvements, so we’re looking forward to seeing a rise in organic traffic. Busy Human listens to their customers’ wants and needs, providing expert services on the development side. Their team focuses on getting work done on time.

How did Busy Human perform from a project management standpoint?

Jonathan was proactive in reaching out to our team and organizing regular meetings. He was able to communicate updates throughout the project. At one point, we ended up creating two templates that weren’t in the original scope of work. He was excellent at detailing why that happened, explaining our options, and then working to find the best ones. It was a seamless process overall.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been involved in numerous web redesigns with companies with a larger budget, so there’s a slight difference. I’ve seen companies struggle with the communication aspect, which can put a damper on the project management. Easy communication is crucial when managing a client’s concerns and keeping them up to date. Busy Human is proactive in that regard, so it’s been nice.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I mentioned that there was a change in scope due to a mix-up. Jonathan didn’t realize initally that we sent over two more templates than expected in our initial scope of the project. As soon as he notices, their team let us know to make sure everything was running according to the original scope of work. But ultimately, the extra templates didn’t end up being significantly more expensive.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’ve had an excellent experience with Busy Human. Customers should feel free to ask questions and determined how involved they want to be in the process. Jonathan is an incredibly talented developer but has a level of communication that I haven’t seen with others I’ve worked with in the past. He explains all technical aspects effectively. Clients should also be open about their goals because Jonathan can communicate in return.
