Our website was created and moved to a different development team that wasn't necessarily saavy with Shopify and other 3rd party systems. It was slow, the previous development teams turnaround wasn't what we as a company wanted. We reached out to BrainX after hearing about their performance from another like company. I met with Umair, and he was quick to share some solutions that they could provide. Our goals were to completely change our PDP's as well as convert our Funnels to Carthook. Two massive undertakings. Not only do they develop, but they maintain and assist with our site and systematic operations.

Our COO goes to a conference called "CO" - He has vast connections to a lot of similar companies. A good collegue had mentioned the amazing success they've had with BrainX Tech. So we were very inclided to establish a meeting and work with them. Factors- Prompt timing on projects, amazing communication, suggestions and honest feedback, amazing work ethic.

The scope of work focuses around our frontend ane backend website development. The scope of work starts with our needs, wants or even BrainX suggestions of impowerment or betterment of our systems. We meet weekly with our development team to go over current projects that range from updating landing pages to aiding in fulfillment API set up. With landing pages, they are always honest in timeframes- we get the creatives, the copy, and then we assign to the team the development aspect, and the tangible being a fully tested landing page completion and review > then edits if necessary. We work in Asana as well as in slack- all communications are within Asana.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After the re-launch/redesign of our site, we've seen customer c-sats increase with the implementation of our customer portal (88% previous to 96.7% currently) We've also increased monthly revenue by 10% by perfecting transactionals, website speed, implementing changes promptly that are tested by our CRO team and approved/implemented and tested by BrainX Tech.

We work within Slack and Asana all through the week if necessary. We have weekly meetings to connect and talk about current project process and upcoming projects that are in Asana. Their project management style is SCRUM, which helps get large projects finished in a timely manner, while still hashing out some of the smaller tasks.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We're impressed by their communication, detail, honesty, and ability to hit deadlines. If they feel it isn't going to work, they will state it so, but also provide options. They do not miss deadlines- and each day they end with a "Daily Update". I feel like they aren't a 3rd party company- they truly are a part of our team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would love to see a more "visual" QA system. While they are very quick to get projects out and about, we have had to go a few rounds of edits to ensure functionality and clear some copy issues- which isn't all them, sometimes we have all the edits. (a typo) - However, they never press anything LIVE, until we've give an "all clear". And if there ever is a site issue, they are right on it to fix it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

BrainX is like a full-stack team that handles everything, including Facebook Pixels, development of the funnel itself, product mapping, and fulfillment house.

They’ve built our site, so they do development work. They customize code Pixels and different variants of the site. If we want to update a cart, a sales page, a landing page, or a funnel, they can handle all the custom coding. 

They also handle the integrations. If we want to add a third-party app, such as an SMS capture, they’ll integrate third-party apps into the site. They’re well-versed in everything about Shopify — from sales pages, themes, and online stores to products, payment gateways like ReCharge and Stripe, and subscription processing.

We’ve worked with four people from BrainX. 

How did you come to work with BrainX Technologies?

We found them online. We were looking for some tech solutions, and we originally brought them in for a single project. It was a great experience and their price was affordable, so we decided to give them more responsibility and keep adding to the workload. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $12,000–$18,000. Their hourly rate is extremely affordable — $20 an hour. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in January 2019, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

BrainX hasn’t done anything specifically to increase our average order value. That comes from our marketing team, and they just implement it. However, they have a great execution speed. 

They have extremely detailed processes in which very few things ever fall through the cracks in the two years that we’ve been working with them. We send them something, and we never have to follow up and ask them if they’ve looked into it. 

The team is honest and gives status updates. They’re extremely friendly people who work hard and are reliable, consistent, and timely. It’s really a pleasant experience. 

How did BrainX Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

BrainX does a great job, and it’s only getting better. Because they’re in Lahore, Pakistan, they’re consistently adding in US-based time zones to have a full-stack coverage. As a result, if we have an issue at 11:30 PST, they’ll have a resource who is available at that time. 

They’ve done a great job of rising to the challenges of a virtual and global workforce. You send them a message on what you want to be done and you’ll get consistent feedback until it’s done. There’s very little hand-holding or micromanagement happening. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Tech work is tech work. If you just see the finished product, you can look at two things and say they’re the same — unless you really understand how a website was designed and built.

However, one of them could be built with a strong foundation and clean code, and the other one could be built with duct tape and sticks and the output would be the same. That latter one might break over time. I like the quality of their work compared to someone else. They do the same work that other tech companies do, but what sets them apart is the fact that they do it quickly and affordably. 

I’ve never given them a task that they’re unable to complete. It might be a task that’s new to them, but they’ll take it, do their research, and come back to give us a solution. We have our tech team talk to theirs to know the best way to implement what we want to do. 

That level of personalization is really important. We’re not just a number in a long list of clients. They almost act like an internal resource and not an external hire. They don’t feel like a third-party hire, a consultant, or a contractor; they feel like our own internal tech team. They care about what we’re working on, which is really impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had a call with them about this exact topic, and that’s the exact question they asked me. One of the things we touched on is having more resources available in US-based hours in case of emergency. 

A lot of stuff can wait until the next day or that evening when they get online. However, in certain cases, the cart goes down, we want the tech person to be jumping on it within 20 minutes. They understand that, and that’s why they’re adding additional resources. That’s the one area that I think can be improved upon and they are excellent. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Selfishly, I want to say don’t work with them because I don’t want them to become so busy that we become a number. Growth and scale can do things to companies. We haven’t seen what BrainX will do with growth and scale, but we want them to succeed. 

I want them to grow and trust they’ll handle that growth with grace and ease. To someone thinking about working with BrainX — no pun intended — it’s a no-brainer. They do fantastic work for an amazing price and you won’t find a team better equipped for that price point.

We had an existing mobile app and the developers that created it were too slow and expensive to continue working with. BrainX took over the existing code and added support for some new solar controllers.

Our goals for the project were to add support for some new solar controllers.

SOLUTION

How did you select BrainX Technologies?

Another one of the companies owned by Valterra called Minder Research found BrainX and used them for their mobile app. Minder recommended BrainX due to their excellent work.

Describe the project in detail.

The project involved interfacing to our solar controllers via bluetooth and communicating with them using a custom modbus protocol. They needed to replicate existing screens for already supported solar controllers and update the screens with display parameters and settings using the new modbus protocol.

What was the team composition?

Junaid has directed all of the efforts and assigned developers to do the work.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

BrainX did an excellent job and completed the work in a very timely manor. There is a big time difference between Go Power!'s location and BrainX's location, but Junaid usually answers emails and slack messages within minutes.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Junaid is very easy to communicate with and extremely organized.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We're pretty sure the team does not sleep as they answer our concerns and emails with agility even with the time difference.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They are getting a little busy and so we have had to wait a bit to have recent tasks completed, but as long as I give them enough notice it is not usually a problem.

Junaid is the head of the company. He is in charge and I have built a personal relationship with him in the last few years. He is great to work with and has great communication skills.

Before he gives me a reply, he makes sure to ask me all the questions he may have, then discuss in detail with his development team and then he will respond to me. His team of 30 developers are great to work with and they have great flexibility. From what I can see, they truly have a family atmosphere at work.

Junaid and the BrainX team has built out A-Z solution for our business. Hey have taken care of all of our needs and demonstrated high level of integrity and competence.

BrainX team uses a workflow management software that is easy to use. I upload the work that I need to get done and move it to development status and they get working on it right away.

I’m a serial entrepreneur who’s worked with Brainx Technologies across multiple companies. Currently, I’m the CTO of a company called Kaffene.

In multiple projects, Brainx provided consulting work and development services. We recently collaborated to deliver a video game news app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I initially hired them for their expertise in Ruby on Rails, but they’ve since provided Android/iOS development, coding in Objective-C, Swift, and Java.

In this particular news-scraping project, they focused on implementing and connecting the app’s frontend to the Firebase backend.

After the app’s completion, we experienced difficulties uploading the app to the Apple store, which kept on denying it. Brainx sat down with me to discuss tweaks to the application that would enable it to go live.

Once I receive a project quote, we’ll discuss tech specs, and then dive into the development phase. Operating as the project manager, I’ll oversee their progress to ensure that their daily contributions are up to standards.

You can tell that Brainx really cares about their work, which is a rare quality to find in an outsourced team. They respond urgently whenever there’s an issue. They demonstrated an impressive level of commitment in their endeavor to get my app onto the Apple Store, which they didn’t necessarily have to do.

They were responsive and responsible in meeting deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really appreciate the personalities that make up their team. They’re passionate about their projects, and that level of commitment is pretty hard to find.

Although I’ve been pretty happy with their services, I can see the time difference being an issue for people not used to working with an offshore team.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They coded a lot of our backend business model and took a lot of pressure off of us. We're currently working on a shopping app, which they built from scratch. The online shopping process hasn't changed much since its origins, so our app disrupts that by taking information from big retailers and allowing people to interact more within their shopping experience. We provided the framework, and they did everything else. They're also responsible for a lot of our backend funnels, integrations, optimizations, and checkout pages. They interpret, load, and manage a huge amount of data. We plan to release iOS and Android versions of the app soon.

I was one of their first clients. When we started, I worked with a team of three or four. Now, I have a day to day relationship with two individuals.

The biggest improvements we see are in-house. We can launch campaigns, optimize, and manage data much faster. We save a lot of time and can focus on other aspects of the business.

To utilize their capabilities in ROR, and SQL Servers to deliver a robust web services. Android & iOS based apps for truck drivers to read & download magazines quick & easily. They put in a really impressive effort to make sure they meet our expectations.

The only thing might be a more in depth discussion of the project and thoughts on development. I sometimes had to see it working before I could voice a change in the original scope, but that was my fault.

I’m the manager of technology and operations with AdvanceNet Labs, an educational technology company. We work with educational institutions like community colleges or nonprofit job training organizations to help disadvantaged populations elevate their lives through education.

We needed more software development capacity for a project we had. Our internal staff wasn’t able to keep up with the work. Prior to our work with BrainX, we had been working with another development company, but they were poor communicators and not very effective.

We contracted one of BrainX’s employees to be a remote software developer for us on multiple projects. The first project was an online donation tool built in PHP. The tool required integration with a credit card processing company. For that project, we supplied requirements for enhancements or bug fixes. We managed the software development cycles in short sprints.

Since then, they’ve also developed a WordPress site from scratch. They provide maintenance and updates for those, as well as SEO enhancements. The current project is a web- and app-based communication program geared toward community college students.

They tend to resolve issues quickly. Their team is based in Pakistan, but they’ve shifted their day to make themselves available to our schedule. They’ve shown a strong agile methodology. Designing and developing quickly in sprints is not difficult for them. Their English and communication skills are also very good. We don’t have as many quantitative results.

How did BrainX Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They are good at project management and communicate effectively during the process. They use an agile software development tool to create the sprints and requirements. We send assignments over that. We try to have weekly touchpoints to update us on new enhancements or bug fixes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

BrainX thinks outside the box and has creative ideas. They’re comfortable with interacting and coming to the best solution; they offer more than just development. The ability to contribute to vision and design sets them apart from other development firms.

Are there any areas they could improve?

A few times, they could use more attention to detail. Occasionally they miss bugs that we feel shouldn’t be missed. There are some grammatical mistakes with the comments and messaging in the system they write.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Utilize their strengths and communicate clearly. You should put a certain amount of trust in their project managers to manage their own team. You wouldn’t need to micromanage the whole process when you work with them.
