We needed help with UI/UX design for our platform.

BluePixel designed the UI/UX of our healthcare platform. Initially, we had a meeting with the team, where we explained our platform needs and showed them the system our hospitals used. Then, we requested to redesign it to make it more professional and UX-focused. After that, they assessed the project, which included data and information gathering. They also came to the site to see our operations and conduct interviews.

The team took all the information they gathered and started to work on our platform's design, focusing on the user needs. Along the way, we had multiple sessions with BluePixel to show us the designs they were creating and the user journeys involved. As for the technology stack, the team used Figma to create the designs and architecture of our platform.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

BluePixel delivered high-quality work, meeting our expectations. We're currently implementing the designs they created, so we don't have results yet. However, the project concluded to our satisfaction.

How did BluePixel perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very communicative and offered excellent customer service; they were very organized. The process was excellent, and we had great guidance from the whole team. We had sessions once or twice a week. BluePixel kept everything on track very well; every session, they showed notable progress. Moreover, the team took our feedback into account. We communicated via email and WhatsApp. They also used SharePoint for project management.

Let them dive deep into your operations. The more information they gather, the easier they'll make their job, so they'll be more efficient.

What challenge were you trying to address with BluePixel?

We were looking for someone to help us modernize the UX/UI of the company's reporting dashboards.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

At the beginning, there was a lot of understanding of what we have today. That was the first stage, where they were a little jealous of all this. The second step was the design proposal of the new version of our design language. Third and second, as it was iterative, was the application of this design language. So, we applied it, made modifications. That's how it went for a while. And once we were happy, we published the final UI/UX model. And then, the application and audit of the application of this UI/UX model.

They used Figma for the design part and Power BI for development. They had to learn Power BI because they weren't familiar with it. They did a little HTML, but that was in a single project. But generally, it was all in Power BI.

BluePixel helped us with the UX design of our Power BI dashboards. They reworked the entire design language for our dashboards. The goal has always been for them to be able to deliver this knowledge or ensure that Power BI developers can get it right the first time. So, they created a handbook and a design system that people can reuse. To create this, they took dashboards and reworked them with the best UI and UX concepts.

Additionally, they helped us brand the department and the dashboards. We reworked the logo and used the same colors. They also helped us with a UI and UX course so developers and project managers can get started with UI and UX. We don't expect them to be experts, but they want them to be able to ask the right questions.

And most recently, a UI and UX course to increase my company's knowledge level.

What is the team composition?

We've had a five-person team: a PMO, two UI designers, and two UX designers. They haven't been fully assigned to the project, but we've had access to other resources. For example, when we had HTML, we had access to a web designer. But the project has primarily consisted of these five people. And then, depending on the needs, they might have shifted things around a bit.

So far, we have spent $400,000.

How did you come to work with BluePixel?

I don't remember if I went through Clutch or not, but I found the books on Google. But it was over a year and a half ago. I can't say, I don't remember exactly how.

I was looking for someone to help me modernize the UX/UI of the company's reporting dashboards. I liked their overall approach. What convinced me was how they understood what I wanted to do. They came to me directly with a good value proposition for how we could work as a team.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have been working since October 2023, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

BluePixel has exceeded our expectations. Today, the company has seven organizations. BluePixel is working with five of the seven organizations. That speaks volumes to the success they've had. Another success, which is more qualitative, is that we used a customer effort score on all the dashboards we've been redesigning. We've had results between 4 and 4.5. With some of those, people have also relied on the use of the dashboards, which ranged between 10 and 20% in some areas where we could measure it.

How did BluePixel from a project management standpoint?

Project management has been excellent. They've delivered on time and on budget and responded to our needs. This year, we've had two communication issues. The rest has been excellent. For communication, we give them access to our Microsoft Teams environment. Everything is handled through Teams or email.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would have liked a little more technical skills of Power BI.

Let yourself be guided. You have to let yourself be guided and trust the process.

What challenge were you trying to address with BluePixel?

We needed help we design and development, mobile app design, and logo design. Our goal was to have a brand presence in a portal. We had a website, but it was sparse. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

BluePixel provided web design and development services. First, we had various meetings to establish what we were imagining, what we liked, and website examples. After we aligned with what they could create, they provided us with test diagrams and pages. Once we determined which of those we liked, BluePixel started to work on creating a website with that design and look and feel.  

The team used Figma for the concept and idea iteration and Webflow for web development. The team also provided us with options for an app, and we evaluated but didn't advance with a logo design.

We worked with three designers, a person in charge of design and site functionality, and two teammates from BluePixel's commercial team; one of them interacted with us, and the other led the meetings. We also had a team coordinator who did follow-up. Additionally, we worked with one teammate who solely handled payments and administration.

I found them through a recommendation at a previous job. The company offered provider options for companies they had worked for. We checked out a couple of them and linked BluePixel. We chose them because we liked their portfolio.

We worked together from December 2024–March 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of their work was excellent. The team is currently transferring the site to us, and since it's not functional yet, we don't have any metrics. 

How did BluePixel perform from a project management standpoint?

The team delivered on time and within budget and communicated well with us. Since we started in December, complicated dates delayed the project. Since we had created another site for a different company division, we knew the process well and what we wanted to see from BluePixel. The team was very attentive, and our communication was great, using phone calls and hour-long or half-hour-long weekly video calls via Google Meet. On these calls, we discussed our needs and next steps. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by their customer management. Once we gave them our needs and wants, they were very receptive and didn't impose their expertise; they listened to us and were flexible and open to the back and forth.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve the ideas they provide, which are similar to each other. They could have more varied ideas at the start to have a wider array of options. We also felt sometimes that they made us do a lot of work. They asked us to fill out documents, interviewed us, and requested lists of websites we liked. While I understand it, we were working on tasks pertaining to our company, and it could feel like homework. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Tell them from day one whether you want to prioritize speed or quality. Being very transparent on day one will make working with BluePixel easier.

BluePixel has developed a custom software solution for our internal use. We’ve started with a discovery phase and agreed on a financial agreement. We then had a kick-off meeting where the team provided the project's timeline and deliverables. BluePixel held follow-up meetings to show the project's progress. Then, we had a validation phase and entered the implementation stage. Our users detected some design enhancements that BluePixel implemented. Finally, the team delivered the final project. The team used Figma and Adobe XD for UI/UX design.

I think an area for improvement could be enhancing the project delivery by providing short videos detailing each section for future use on the website, in addition to the Webflow training. In my experience, we had to seek guidance two or three times after project delivery because certain details were not covered during the training. We searched online for companies that had experience working with startups and who could be, beyond a creative agency, a strategic partner as we looked to grow our business. We interviewed over a dozen companies, and BluePixel's skill-set, previous experience with startups and willingness to iterate through the process became an invaluable asset.

The first deliverable was creating the logo, branding and general marketing assets for the brand, while we were in stealth-phase and looking to build a list of initial partners and early-adopters. In addition to delivering amazing creative work, Maria's team helped me think through an SEO-optimized landing page that would help our team drive the initial traction we needed. Today, BluePixel is still doing work with StackShare on the UI/UX of our mobile and web-apps.

At different points in the project, people who were clearly seasoned professional in specific project areas were assigned. For example, Andrea is a masterful logo and branding artist, while Jorge has an ability to link your value proposition to the way that the website needs to designed and built to validate key assumptions. As needed, other members of the team stepped in to provide design, feedback and support on components the branding and UI/UX design project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

While we still in the early stages of the startup, BluePixel's professionalism and passion for EXCELLENT design has been a definite asset. When pitching to venture capitalists or some of the world's largest internet service providers, a comment I often hear is that 'the pitch you put together looks very professional has been obviously really thought through and is very clear'. To a large extent, that is due to BluePixel's work, and their willingness to provide independent feedback as part of the ongoing partnership.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

BluePixel's team had a project manager that was assigned to work on StackShare and who consistently kept me up to speed and asked questions as needed. We also had a weekly check-in to provide feedback, but BluePixel's team was always willing to jump on a call to find the right solution.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

BluePixel has exceptional talent that has the ability to translate an innovation goal into a creative outcome. They are always open to listening to feedback and working with you to refine their deliverables so that they meet your business requirements.

It would have been useful to bring up areas where there was a lack of clarity or potential misunderstanding sooner, rather than waiting for a weekly huddle.

We wanted to offer more tools and functionality than any other platform, for users looking for a new experience of inspiration, organization, personalization, community and connectivity. Our value proposition was designed completely human-centered. Our goal is to empower users of different profiles:

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I interviewed several app developers and chose Bluepixel based on their knowledge of the latest technologies and trends, and their deep understanding of the market. They seemed to know how to understand the demands of my target users and transform that final functionality into a possible technological process and they helped translate my ideas into functions that current technology can offer.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had several meetings for planning and research. Their team was able to clarify the idea that I had imagined. They presented the first approach of wireframes and we had a series of rounds for UX design:

• changes
• new design

Then they delivered a navigable prototype and we performed more iterations with user feedback. With a final UX design they started the back end development. The next stage was the integration. We are currently on the deep testing stage.

The resources fluctuated between 8 and 12 collaborators. I mostly interacted with a project manager and a team of UX designers, back end developers, DBAs, testers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have a world-class app that exceeds expectations with more than 24 features and tools that make us unique. Unlike other applications and social networks, we also offer business intelligence that learns from users' preferences and activity and displays content by affinity.

A business intelligence dashboard, offering 36 key performance indicators (KPIs)'s statuses, business insights reporting, and data management. Brands will have access to metrics, statistics from all recipe creators, without having to pay for monitoring or research.

The platform as a whole was conceived and built for scalability using technology that allows big data, streaming:

1. Apache Kafka: capable of generating millions of transactions per second
2. Cassandra: enables store huge amounts of info in an orderly way
3. Elastic Search: indexes and optimizes search in milliseconds (more than 1 tera); Influx DB: deploys time series or time vector for data that will be changing.

The project control has been in accordance with the established roadmap. The communication has exceeded expectations for the team's availability and response both in daily contact and in the weekly sessions for review and progress tracking. I was able to reach out to the project manager and the developers to discuss questions, concerns, and special requests. The deliverables according to milestones have been achieved and accomplished on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their UX-UI design, engineering and development skills exceeded my expectations. Their contributions to improving the customer journey and the process flow within the app took the project to another level. Their attitude to take us through the agile methodology allowed clarity in the stages. Each member of the development team possesses programming expertise and industry-specific knowledge. Their ability to determine app requirements and specifications before generating a detailed project plan with the development process clearly laid out and a firm timeline established.

A single control document with the specifications and minutes of agreements in each session would have been helpful.

A road map was established that was followed weekly in which the progress for review was presented in each session. A group discussion was held on various design proposals and the rationale for each proposal and the group selection of the best alternatives.
