BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner and co-founder of an online portal for models, photographers, makeup artists, and other professionals from the fashion industry. We provide a platform to host their portfolios and resumes and network with casting directors and any professional interested in hiring them.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd?

We were looking for a development firm to help us create our complete website, including the UI design and the site’s functionalities.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd has designed and developed our website from the ground up. They’ve designed the site’s UI and developed its functionalities using Laravel.

Our website is like a social media network tied into a modeling agency platform with job listings. The platform lets our customers edit their personal profiles and upload their information. Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd has helped us create a membership plan. They’ve designed different plans and prices. Depending on the membership, our customers can upload a specific amount of photos to their portfolios and respond to different casting calls and jobs.

Meanwhile, casting directors and users looking for personnel can search through different profiles and pages using specific search filters.

At the time we hired Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd, we had a different site domain that we sold to another company. We’ve just decided to use the system Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd has developed in a new domain that was launched at the end of December 2022. Additionally, they’re currently working on some additional features we asked them to incorporate.

How did Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd’s communication and pricing are excellent. They’re good at follow-up, and everything has been on time. We communicate through Freelancer.com since one of the platform’s policies is to avoid communication outside their site.

I can’t think of anything for Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd to improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We needed someone to help with building a software for a fintech company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd helped us integrate an API for one of our customer's websites. We liked their service and continued working with them. They then helped with frontend work using React and backend work using Node.js — for both web and mobile apps available for iOS and Android.

We've had a project scope and flow charts throughout the project to ensure we complete everything properly. They're also responsible for the UI/UX design of the platforms.

What is the team composition?

We work directly with two developers, but we're also in contact with their managers and the owner.

How did you come to work with Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd?

We found them online and compared different companies with them. We chose them because they gave a good price and timeline.

We've spent $25,000–$50,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

They always deliver on time. Regarding communication, we use Skype and Google Meet. We also use Lucid Charts, where we create the flow diagrams, and Trello for agile project management.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the technical director at Quantech. We’re a managed service provider that offers IT and infrastructure support for private entities.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd?

We lacked development capabilities in terms of websites and mobile apps. Our team hired Aqualeaf to help us provide those services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially used Aqualeaf on a small website development project. From there, our engagement started snowballing. So far, we’ve done 6–7 projects together. We engage them on a project-by-project basis, but we also use them if a certain project requires maintenance on a yearly basis.

To provide an example, one of the projects we’ve done is a digital archive system. The product stores the data and content of one of our clients. Aqualeaf has helped design this system. In terms of features, the system allows the end client to log in and upload documents to be stored within it. End users can access the archive based on their clearance level. The files can be confidential or public.

We’ve also done two mobile development projects. One project has been for the tourism sector; it’s an app that helps people set up restaurants and bars. It also helps them show information about shops and the events that are being held in certain provinces. Restaurant owners can update the app for the current events that they’re holding. The second mobile app is for an e-commerce site. It hasn’t gone live yet; we’re still working on it.

What is the team composition?

I mainly work with two people from Aqualeaf, though I communicate with only one person. A few other team members work with our main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd?

We had a website engineer before, but we weren’t happy with the results of their work. Our team searched for someone new, and that was when we looked into some of Aqualeaf’s work. We had a chat with the team and told them the scope of the work. Their answer and approach to the project were quite good — we decided to give them a try.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $20,000–$30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

For success metrics, our end clients normally set criteria, which we then relay to Aqualeaf. Normally, the feedback we get from them about the team’s work is positive. For the digital archive project, our end client has been happy with the system. Our timeline for that project is 90 days, but the Aqualeaf team has finished it in 70 days.

How did Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had no problems in terms of communication. Although our teams are in slightly different timezones, we manage to speak to each other at least once a week. When we’re not doing any project, we still communicate once a week; when we do have a problem, we talk almost every day. We use WhatsApp and Skype to talk.

In terms of timeliness, all of Aqualeaf’s deliverables are on time. We usually have a timeline in mind, and we present that timeline to them. Their resources then tell us whether they can make it or not. So far, they’ve agreed to the timelines we’ve given and managed to hit every deadline; we’ve never had any delays.

We don’t use any special project management tools on our side. Rather, we use Excel Spreadsheets to present the clients’ timelines. We then send the documents to Aqualeaf. Nonetheless, in some of our projects, they’ve invited me to use Trello, where I can see what they’re currently working on, what has been done, and what will be their next steps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I haven’t met their entire team yet, but I believe they have a substantial number of members. Each of them has a strong quality; they always have members who can deliver based on the requirements we provide. On top of that, they always meet timelines. In fact, that’s one of the biggest reasons we keep coming back to Aqualeaf; if we need something done in two months, I know that they can do it within that time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We communicate with our main point of contact, but we sometimes want to talk directly with the person who’s in charge of the project. It would be better if I can communicate with their technical specialists instead of only the account manager.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communicate well with Aqualeaf. Define the scope clearly early on, and discuss with them how you can achieve your targets. If you communicate clearly with them and define a clear scope, the engagement will be great.

Please describe your company and your position there.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd, and what were your goals?

Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt was able to take our vision and make it real, and more ways than we expected at the start. They’re very flexible and are quick to give results, keep up with updates, and accomplish just about every task I’ve thrown their way. There were many things we were sure how we would get it all to work together but they surprised us and got it all to work seamlessly.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had a ton of offers on the table but after talking with Aqualeaf they were the most reasonable for what we asked for, and we’re able to complete the project in a reasonable time frame as well while updating constantly on the progress.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had a lot of designs in mind, and I worked with the developer to get everything to look and work just the way I wanted it too. Slight language barrier given the different countries but even so with some explaining we were able to get things covered.

They produced designed color flow coding for the page flow, their developers scripted custom things for us as well as customized several plugins we found elsewhere to get them to worn the way we needed them too.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I believe 3-4, I personally spoke with 3 of them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Very pleased over all with the design and the way things work, and still have more work yet to be done with these guys in the future!

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Communication is mostly through Skype but phone service is optional, they respond quickly and work on issues promptly as well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were competitive in the market and can deliver quality when you work with them and give them enough detail for what it is you’re after.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Other then needing to clarify more on the start time work time etc because of the time difference in different countries I can’t think of anything.

There were 2 Designers ( 1 HTML Developer and 1 Graphics Designer ), 2 Back end Developers, and One QA Analyst. The entire team was lead by a Dedicated Project Manager Named Sappy

Yes, the portal is https://pickatradie.com.au/ We are still developing the portal to add more functionality to it.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their team was very active. I was able to get support from them during weekends as well in case of any emergencies and the delivery was completed on time. The main thing which I liked the most is they provided free technical support even after our contract was over. Not many organizations offer this.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Dedication to work and the director of the company deal with me directly and listen to my questions and implemented them in the work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the managing director of Xtrajob Limited. It’s a platform that allows anyone to sell their skills and for them to find tradespeople or skilled people to do jobs on their behalf. It’s where people can earn extra money through an extra job.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd?

I needed Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd to develop and design my website from scratch.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I initially had my website developed by another team, but they let me down. Since it was difficult to take on someone else’s work, Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd had to redo everything with my involvement and direction.

Their team did the website infrastructure, design, and coding. On top of that, they made sure to take charge of the site’s functionalities to complete the full UX. They utilized all standard platforms necessary in website building such as WordPress, MySQL, and HTML.

Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd currently provides web support and maintenance services to ensure that our platform runs smoothly without any issues with its functionality and design.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with three people from their team, mainly with Saptarsha (Director).

How did you come to work with Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd?

I found their profile on a freelancing website. Having been dropped by my previous developer, I explained my situation to prospective teams I came across on that site. Saptarsha gave me the best response and assured me that they could deliver the job I expected to be delivered.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent about £6,000 (approximately $8,000 USD) so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2020. They currently support us by taking charge of web maintenance.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve heard good things about the website from the people I’ve shown it to, and they are all excited to use it. Families, friends, and colleagues have tested it, and they approve of its UX and appearance.

I think the end product is crucial to people who lost their jobs because of the pandemic. I’m looking forward to helping them make extra money through their own set of skills. At the same time, it gives customers the opportunity to find people who can help them with specific services.

How did Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

Saptarsha has been especially helpful to me. We have regular Zoom meetings, and he stays up late to call and give updates to make sure that I am happy with their work. He is approachable, and his project management approach is much better than most people.

We haven’t always met deadlines, but we’re not too far away from them. This is partly because I’ve suggested that they alter the functionality of the site. We’ve changed it a couple of times to meet my standards.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Aqualeaf IT Solutions Pvt Ltd delivers results that meet my expectations. Their team takes my project seriously.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Some of their developers could improve their language skills. There are different terminologies with different meanings around the world, so they could work on that a little to cater to different clients. However, Saptarsha communicates well in English, so we’ve gotten past that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that you know what you want to get from your partnership with them. Leave the work to them, and they will deliver.
