The software platform that Accely provides lets us capture all of our exports, billing, documentation, compliance, files, and others. Their platform isn’t a part of our standard system applications and products (SAP) system, but we run it parallel to our system. Whenever we bill anything, invoices are tracked, and all related compliance documents are done through the software. For financial credits, we have a check-in option where our customers’ finance control is registered. 

When we receive a purchase order, we place it into our manufacturing unit through the SAP system. Once we do the billing, we can capture the invoice and transfer all data from the SAP system into Accely’s module. From there, we can create reports, indexes, and credit letters, among other things. This way, we can track all payments, compliances, and other bank-related documents.

We work with a project manager who answers our questions and manages the solution. 

How did you come to work with Accely INC.?

We first met our project manager with our previous service provider. When he presented their solutions, we felt that they adapted to our requirements well. After he moved to Accely, he suggested that we do the same. Knowing him and his expertise, we decided to adapt to that change. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’re currently paying around 12,500 Indian rupees per year (approximately $151.93 USD).

We started working with them in January 2017, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We haven’t seen any issues with the system. There have been some glitches at the very beginning of the transition, but that’s something that can happen to any business during such a transition. 

How did Accely INC. perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project manager’s working style is great. We haven’t had any issues with him; his response time is great, and he has a great understanding of our queries. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Accely understands our needs. Before our contact person approached us, we had already met with 3–4 vendors. Nobody could understand our problem and what we wanted from the solution. By contrast, our project manager understands us and explains our options well. That’s highly impressive for us. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could assign more people to work with our project manager since he often is overworked.

For context, we have two active units: one is a normal seasoning directed to our domestic requirements, while the other is an export-oriented unit. Our business challenge relates to the documentation required for exports. Our systems applications and products (SAP) system doesn’t provide any solutions for handling exports into the system. 

When we initially implemented our SAP system, we were using standard functionalities to create invoices. All information like handling commissions and life cycle management (LCM) had to be handled outside the system. We engaged Accely to help us with these issues.

Accely has a ready-made solution that they offer to other customers. To fit our requirements, they’ve customized the software to respond to our internal processes. They’ve integrated their platform directly with our SAP system. It now runs as a module implemented into our SAP system.

We interact with two people directly: one on the technology side and one in the sales area.

How did you come to work with Accely INC.?

We reached out to Accely and found out that they had a solution that could help us address our problems. They provided us with a demo of their product, and we started the engagement.

We’ve spent around $13,000 for the implementation of the platform and around $2,500 for their ongoing support. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started around November 2020, and we’ve implemented the system in two phases. The first phase took about 6–8 weeks, while the second one was around 12 weeks. They continue to provide support services.

Because Accely’s solution has been implemented in our SAP system, our end users no longer have to go through a separate page to do a single process. 

How did Accely INC. perform from a project management standpoint?

Since the project has mainly taken place during the COVID-19 pandemic, all our meetings and communications are done through Teams. 

We have meetings twice per week, where all team members participate and discuss our requirements. Training sessions have also been held via Teams; similarly, the deployment has been done remotely. This has been hard because it’s one of the first projects we have to do online, but it works. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Accely has provided us with a solution that meets our expectations. Moreover, their technical specialist understands our processes even more than our users, and that’s great.

No, there aren’t any.

Now, we just have to submit our budgets into the system instead of having to input data into a spreadsheet, effectively making our processes system-driven and streamlined.

The project went live on time, so we were able to migrate our processes into the system in a timely manner.

Accely INC. performed well in terms of project management. We had a weekly meeting, where they shared the state of the project and reportedany issue that came up. We didn’t use any project management tools, but we had an Excel document that we used to share data. 

We typically communicated through Microsoft Teams. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The project lead was an extremely knowledgeable person. He had extensive industry experience, which definitely helped drive the project forward.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their project management skills could still improve. The project lead also acted as the technical lead, which was not the best way to work on a project. There should be another separate individual to take care of the technical aspects of the project.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to clearly communicate the scope of the project. This system was new to us, so we were not able to scope the engagement as best as we could.

Accely INC. has performed well in terms of project management. The project has gone seamlessly. They’ve met all of the deadlines, and they lead regular meetings to ensure transparency.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Accely INC. has delivered on all of their promises, and they’re always willing to go above and beyond to meet our goals. They are also highly committed and transparent throughout. Their retention rate is also great — we’ve had no changes in the team since we started.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would have been great if we had a more detailed scheduling and planning process. We wanted to see how long it would take and how many people were needed for each stage of the project before we started.

It would be a good idea for you to assign someone internally to oversee the project.

To address our challenge, we used Accely INC.’s SAP solution. Managing the entire import affairs within SAP wasn’t compatible with our organization, so we had to use Accely INC.’s software. Their solution allowed us to link the purchase orders to the shipment.

The solution was user-friendly; it was easy to maintain all charges in one place and compare the invoices with the actual freight contract. Overall, the product met our expectations.

Since our entire business depends on imports, there haven’t been failures. Everything went smoothly, so the project was 100% successful. None of the shipments stopped, and we went live with all the brands in one go.

Project management was excellent. They were fast and flexible. We had scheduled interviews, and everything from the requirements, domain, discussions, and testing went smoothly.

Describe the scope of work in detail.

Accely INC. is our ERP support and consulting partner; we use their services for program support and development ticket resolution. They have a lot of experience in ERP development — they write programs that help us run our business properly. We submit new request tickets because of business changes or accounting, governmental, or strategic requirements. 

Each ERP that Accely INC. developed is fully integrated into our organization and CRM. When a lead converts into a customer through the CRM, the ERP generates a sales order and runs the processes for procurement, production, quality management, finance, maintenance, and sales and distribution.

Whenever we have new requirements to improve our systems, our internal team creates the new function designs and hands them over to Accely INC. For each project, we give Accely INC. a one-page document that outlines what we need, which includes project specifications, videos, and functional designs. Then, their team will run development and testing. We go back and forth with them until we decide to release the final product. 

One project we did with Accely INC. was related to material packaging. We had particular label printing, which required manual intervention. So, we had Accely INC. generate an ERP to automate the entire process.

For most projects, we work with two teammates from Accely INC. who liaison with our team. 

How did you come to work with Accely INC.?

We worked with another company and relied heavily on one of their employees. So, when the employee moved to Accely INC., we followed. We quickly realized that Accely INC. was the better company and could provide more support. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership started in April 2017. We renew our contract with Accely INC. yearly.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Accely INC.'s team is very good, but we sometimes identify quality issues through our rigorous testing strategies. We don't accept low-quality deliverables, so Accely INC. is always ready to rectify the quality issues we identify. Since there is so much employee fluctuation in the IT industry, our experiences with Accely INC. can change from one project to the next. Good-quality deliverables take time to develop, so Accely INC. takes the time to ensure they deliver what we want. They're very eager to deliver for us. 

My company is dependent on the ERPs we utilize — we only take the systems down to take physical inventory. Without the ERPs Accely INC. helps us create, we cannot operate our business.

How did Accely INC. perform from a project management standpoint?

We've stayed with them because of their availability and flexibility — I can contact their manager anytime. Accely INC. meets our deadlines 50%–70% of the time. I believe they miss deadlines because of the inexperienced employees they're bringing to our projects; the senior-level employees are good, but it takes a long time to get new employees up-to-speed on our ERP development. 

I've also found that Accely INC. isn't fantastic at documentation. Even when I request documentation for designs or technical specifications, I don't believe their team is properly utilizing them. We also don't use any specific project management tools, but we do use a ticketing system that tracks development and measures performance. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Although we face some issues working with Accely INC., their accessibility and flexibility are amazing. I can call them at any time on any day and have someone look at the project I need to be completed. This availability is critical to my organization because we work remotely, and it's nice to know I can rely on Accely INC. to provide good support at any time. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Accely INC. is very good at development, but they don't have a teammate well-versed in the partnership's business side. For example, I needed help with budget management, but Accely INC. couldn't provide a good teammate to consult with me. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I'd advise customers to have some internal functional support to guide Accely INC.'s developers by providing designs and specific requirements.

Immediately upon onboarding, Accely was able to help us counter all the issues we were facing with our previous vendors. We now have five modules ready, and it’s all thanks to Accely taking their time and making sure to deliver the required services.

If I were to rate them for project management, I would give them a 4/5. We expect to be prioritized at any given point in time, and they’ve done well to do just that. 

We typically communicate with the IT team through emails and through their portal, but we reach out to the functional team over emails only. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Accely’s technical people, especially the more senior-level ones, are very talented and knowledgeable about SAP. They always know what solutions should be used for any given problem. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

While their senior technical specialists are very knowledgeable, they should also make sure to push that knowledge down the line and throughout their entire organization as well. They could also work on the speed of their service.

Accely provides us with an add-on product to be integrated into our Systems Applications and Products (SAP) system ERP. The product is based on ABAP language, and we’ve run Greenfield implementation. The solution helps us manage our imports, exports, and data trail, digitalizing our business process and recording data. Accely has also integrated compliance with Indian law. Currently, they provide maintenance for the product.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Accely’s system is really well-built, and the functional requirements we needed to carry out our export and import function were 90%—95% there when we purchased it. The person who built the product from scratch has also developed our customizations, evident from his knowledge. They have expertise in supply chain management, logistics, and the functional technicalities involved. 

Even though we’ve just started using it, the product is already helping us, and I’m hopeful that it’ll solve many of our problems in the future. Based on the high quality of Accely's product and service, the solution will last us a long time. 

How did Accely INC. perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re good at project management and communication. We communicate via phone calls, text messages, emails, and calls through Google Meet and MS Teams. Overall, Accely is very professional; we haven’t had any problems with our requirements. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We appreciate that Accely’s point person has been in front of the implementation. He’s the brains behind the unit, and even though he has a senior position, he’s very humble. Having no delegation of our project is great. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should have a person working parallel to their key developer in terms of knowledge. They're managing well at this point, but as their company grows, having only one person with essential knowledge could haunt them. They must plan for their growth in advance. Additionally, they should impart some delegation and expertise to customers who can handle the product independently. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You should go for it! If Accely’s solution suits your needs, don't think twice about hiring them. They’re very cooperative and professional.
