Overestimate hourly task estimates for newer development / R&D tasks such as AI implementation and API development, as we can encounter many unknowns. It would be better to allocate more hours for tasks rather than less.

I am Software Development Director at CSI Helsinki Oy, located in Helsinki, Finland. We specialize in Legal Practice Management software.

For what projects/services did your company hire Yojji, and what were your goals?

We wanted to develop mobile and web applications to extend our legal practice software, "CSI Lawyer." The application (mobile, web, backend, and admin) should be developed using technologies and architecture that are not bound to any specific cloud provider and/or database.

Mobile apps should work on multiple devices like iOS, Android, etc. Software development and architecture should take into account security, scalability, and best practices in various technologies used for developing such kinds of applications.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found the vendor through Clutch, and we did a thorough review for technology match before selecting the correct vendor for our project.

The mobile and web apps were developed using react-native and react. The backend was developed using NestJS. The cloud-based infrastructure uses Kubernetes. Multiple database support was also an essential part of the project, and currently, the backend supports two kinds of databases (MSSQL and Postgres). The testing of the front and back end was also covered using automated test cases and manual testing.

There were 2 architects, 3–5 developers, 1–2 UI/UX designers, and 1–2 testers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project is still ongoing. Yojji has delivered very well in all areas and has an excellent team for software development, UX/UI, and automated testing, UX/UI, and automated testing. Communication has also been excellent.

The project management was excellent. We used Agile project management methodology and were in contact with the team and project manager daily.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Communication, work quality, and their zeal to deliver on time despite multiple issues in their country due to the recent war.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Perhaps documenting the architecture alongside development would have been great, but we got help from them the whole time, so it wasn't a big issue.

I was one of the co-founders of Osu, a company providing a mobile application for freelancers and sole traders from the UK.

What challenge were you trying to address with Yojji?

We required Yojji for frontend development for our product.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Yojji provided us with a frontend development team for many years to support our product’s development needs. Our project was collaborative; from the start, their team collaborated with our backend developers to build our product from scratch. Although the project started slowly, we eventually ramped it up by adding more resources from Yojji according to our product’s requirements.

Our app was a mobile-first product available on the App Store and Google Play, but it also had a web component for people to process payments. Both the mobile and the web frontends were developed entirely by Yojji. Their involvement also included UI/UX design.

After they finished developing the app, Yojji provided us with QA. One of their resources tested the app on all the environments we had before going into production. As for the technology stack, they used React Native.

What is the team composition?

Yojji’s development team included mobile developers, web developers, a designer, and a QA person. Originally, we started with two developers, but the team increased to four. Throughout the project, we also worked with three different designers. Additionally, we communicated with Yevhen (CTO & Founder) and Ildar (CEO & Founder).

How did you come to work with Yojji?

We had already worked with them in the past. When we first communicated with Yevhen and Ildar, we felt like we had been working together for years. They clearly understood our requirements and assigned the relevant developers for the project.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $4 million on the entire project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together on this project in March 2019, although we had been working with them on other projects since around 2018. Our engagement ended in July 2022 when we traded out the company.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Yojji was instrumental in the success of our product. They worked as part of our team, and I even considered them our employees. From the first to the last day, all their resources stayed on the project, which was evidence of our engagement’s success. We were very happy working with them, and they seemed to enjoy working with us as well. On a personal level, their resources were amazing people. I’ve even recommended them to others, and I hope they find success on those other projects.

How did Yojji perform from a project management standpoint?

Yojji’s performance was amazing; they worked as expected and had no significant delays. Of course, they had to fix some bugs and issues along the way, but whenever they committed to a sprint delivery, 90% of the time it was delivered on time. They worked as part of our team, so we had no budget attached to their work; we simply paid them on a monthly basis.

We worked in two-week sprints and used Jira to track the tasks assigned to the front- and backend developers. We also used Figma for the designs. Moreover, we used ClickUp on a daily basis. As for communication, we had a daily team meeting at 11 a.m., which lasted around 30 minutes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Yojji had a great atmosphere in their team. Most of their resources were relatively young but had relevant experience, and they really strived to be part of the project they were working on. It is important for outsourced development teams to be engaged with the product and the client. Additionally, their entire work was very professional.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be very helpful if Yojji provided backend development services as well. I worked with them on frontend development only, but it would be helpful for startups if they had a complete service. Still, I would highly recommend them for frontend development.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

From the beginning, get them into your business so that they can understand your product, goals, and vision and align with those. If you give them time to understand what you’re trying to achieve, they will contribute to it.

Our product was a livestreaming commerce website which allowed users to go live and interactively sell their products. It contained reach feature set. We hired Yojji to lead web development of our website, which included development of both core features, integration with 3rd party solutions as well as complete UI/UX web development for the product.

Our goal was to build MVP in 6 months and go to market to acquire initial users for our pilot. Yojji was able to successfully deliver on our objectives, and deliver highly complex product, while managing to frequently changing requirements. Once the initial launch was completed, Yojji worked with us to streamline the product based on customer feedback, implement bug fixes and fast followers.

Our search for development partners included series of interviews of potential partners in ukraine, US and india. After thorough search and following evaluation criteria, we selected Yojii both based on their development capabilities as well as based on the similarity of the team dynamics with our internal team. We definitely made the right decision.

The scope of work included high pace development of the product in a very young start up, with ever changing requirements and significant number of core features, which included live streaming, commerce, shipping, interactive chat and much more.

The number of people working on a project ranged from 3-7 depending on a month and depending on scope of planned work.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our initial MVP was delivered on time and on budget. Our product scaled to 1000 users within first 3 months and had great reviews and robust functional and performance kpis. Yojji delivery was outstanding.

There was daily scrum meetings. We also used slack and teams for our communication. Variety of dev tools were used in the process, including Jira.

Yojii is impressive both in quality of development work as well as their commitment. Strong focus on delivery, highly technical personnel, flexible approach that allows for rapid development. Strong processes that allow for solid controls.

Nothing I can think of.

I'm the Marketing Manager for Foresight Mobile, a top mobile app development company in Manchester, UK, who specialise in cross platform development using Google Flutter and React Native.

We have been lucky to use Yojji before for assistance with development. Yojji have always supplied us with competent and knowledgeable developers at short notice and for very reasonable rates. We cannot recommend their services more highly.

The app was written using Google's Flutter development frameset and required writing from first principles. Communication with Yojji's developers was via Slack.

Yojji's developer completed the project for us from scratch really on his own. He did a very professional job, with very little bugs on what was quite a complicated real-time health technology project. He's also been helping us out on some other projects and has been really useful.

Our end client has been very happy with the completed app, as are we. Yojji supplied us with reliable, capable, and competent resources, the work was completed diligently and to a very high standard with a high degree of autonomy.

There is frankly no need for improvement, Yojji did an excellent job and we were highly impressed with their professionalism and expertise.

I am the Vice President of Experience and Tech for a small (but mighty) corporate training provider. We are based in Canada and serve medium to large scale organizations (telecom, banks) offering career development management training.

For what projects/services did your company hire Yojji, and what were your goals?

We wanted to offer a mobile and web application to our training attendees where they could complete self-assessments. Goals were to allow quick and user friendly assessment on any device, in multiple languages (that could be added to or modified as needed), with high security enabled and analytics for tracking behavior. Also required project management and full stack team.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had hired a branding firm in the US to brand our company, design our website, and design the user interface for our app. They recommended Yojji to provide project management and full stack development for our application. After meeting with them and receiving their proposal for the project we proceeded. They appeared to have all the skills and process we needed, came highly recommended, and the price was reasonable.

We had a series of discovery meetings to discuss our goals and objectives. Our US branding firm provided their team with wireframes and designs. Within the proposed timeline, they delivered the first round of the app. We had weekly team meetings with devs and PM and they incorporated our feedback and delivered the revised versions on schedule. Before launching, we ran it through beta testing. The app was built on React (as requested) and the Google Cloud Platform (we required a Canadian data center and GCP was only one available at the time).

There is a staging server for testing and QA, and live environment for clients. The app itself would have been a very simple one if not for our integration, security, multilingual and accessibility requirements. Integrations also include Mixpanel (for analytics), Lokalise (for multilingual function) and Sentry (for error tracking) Our clients require above average privacy and security to be enabled and Yojji was thorough and helpful in completing the required work and audits. Also required (by law) was careful accessibility testing and authoring. The team was excellent at considering our requirements and delivered a fully accessible product.

The app required easy access to make changes to all content by my staff, including the ability to quickly add new languages and content. The team made this a priority and gave us exactly what we needed inside a user friendly admin dashboard. They have been available for changes since launch and have been fast and professional with new deliverables as needed.

A project manager was assigned to be our main point of contact throughout the project. He was excellent. In addition, there were multiple full stack developers, a lead front-end developer, a lead backend developer, and a quality control specialist. We had regular and well run status meetings with the entire team to ensure successful deliverables.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

This app was not meant to drive traffic or boost sales in any way. It exists to support our learners and has done so without requiring any extra technical support on our end. It is so user friendly, people have commented on how useful it is, how well it works, how fast it performs, and how they want to share it with their teams outside of the training. Our expectations were met (even exceeded) 100% and our clients are thrilled.

The project manager was easy to communicate with and provided frequent updates. We had regular team zoom meetings and some feedback through email. Everything was delivered on time and on budget.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

First, any initial concerns with language barriers were squashed immediately on first meeting. Everyone I worked with at Yojji was able to meet using english. I was very impressed and appreciated that they were willing to do so even though I didn't know a word of their language - I did learn a few words over time, but I'm tragic. They did all the heavy lifting and it was very appreciated. Next, their development and design skills were second to none. They understood their roles (front-end and back-end) and worked together as a team to deliver a solid product.

They seem to know everything about UX and execution. We had some next level requirements due to very high standards for security, accessibility and language, but they took them in stride and delivered exactly what we needed. They were a pleasure to work with as well. I fully considered them an extension of my team and still do. I have even invited them to visit me and my family at our cottage when they're able! Just an amazing, well rounded team and a joy to meet with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had regular enough meetings and communications that any opportunity for improvement was caught quickly and when risk was low. The agile format of the project made this seamless. I never had any concerns about failing to meet deadlines or not delivering on promises. They kept me in the loop at all times, and delivered everything they said they would.

We needed some experienced support to work alongside our CTO as we built our initial product idea. Specifically, we were looking for a mobile developer who could help bring the front-end to llfe.

I found Yojji via LinkedIn. I had done a lot of work in Ukraine over the years and had heard they were strong in working with startups. I met Ildar and liked how he described their working practices and how they supported their clients.

We used React Native and a node.js backend delivered via REST. During the project we built an online survey platform for customer acquisition and the initial working prototype of a digital coach.

We have been able to launch into schools and in the public to get feedback on the initial idea. We have had over 15,000 people use the survey and a few hundred (so far) using the app with some great feedback. We've been very happy with the work.

We weren’t able to do some projects with them because they didn’t have certain skills needed.

I’m the CEO of Osu. We’re a startup in the fintech space that works with money transfer and payments.

What challenge were you trying to address with Yojji?

We did the backend development of our products ourselves. We outsourced the frontend development to Yojji.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Yojji designs, builds, and help test web and mobile apps for all platforms for us. We started by further optimizing an existing product, but we eventually threw it away and began again from scratch.

Yojji is a part of our product lifecycle, from designing the wireframes and UX to developing the product and running QA. Sometimes we have clear ideas and give them exactly what we want. Other times, we work with Yojji to get their input. We view them as a part of our team, even though we’re formally two separate companies.

What is the team composition?

At the partnership’s height, we worked with 10–12 people from Yojji. Currently, we have six resources — designers as well as frontend developers.

How did you come to work with Yojji?

When we decided to outsource our frontend development, we looked at the market for a few outsourcing companies. Other agencies that we tried to engage with referenced Yojji. So we had a call, talked a bit, decided to give them a test, and have been working with Yojji ever since.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re very happy with the way that Yojji works, which is why we’ve spent so much money and engaged them for such a long time. We treat them as employees in regard to responsibilities and expectations, and they haven’t disappointed us.

How did Yojji perform from a project management standpoint?

We always employ a senior person from Yojji. They’re very knowledgeable and can do the whole build pipeline, some DevOps, and management. We feel comfortable having them manage their junior developers.

We work in agile for so we have daily meetings and syncs. Our side manages and updates our boards of tasks. Yojji is very communicative, however, and can work without supervision.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’ve been very happy. It’s a competitive space for outsourcing companies, so if they were less than perfect, we would have switched already.

Any advice for potential customers?

Work to build a team that matches the needs of your project. Have a dedicated person to manage them as well. We use their senior developers to manage their side because we don’t have a dedicated person on our side.
