I'm a website consultant and a project manager at a software company based in Hanoi, Vietnam.

What challenge were you trying to address with Windy Digital?

Windy Digital is an outsourcing company, and we hired them so their team can develop our clients' projects. One of our clients needed to redesign their website’s frontend and further develop its backend.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have hired Windy Digital’s smart team for two projects. For the first project, they redesigned and developed our client’s tour operator website. They developed the platform using the Laravel PHP framework.

The main function of the platform is to connect our clients to hotels, and then our hotels will share their tickets. In addition, this website will be managing and giving our clients the full status report of their hotels. The second project is in an early phase.

What is the team composition?

I work with four people from Windy. Their smart team has two developers, one designer, and one tester. On a working day, I receive a daily report from the team leader. I also get the list of small tasks from our clients, which I share with this leader, and he shares it with his team.

How did you come to work with Windy Digital?

We live in the same city, and I met their CEO. I contacted him, and we worked together from there. I also Googled them to check their details, and I found that they are a good team, so I decided to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We had a contract of $3,000 per month for the first project. Currently, we are making a new contract for the second project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August 2020. We finished the project in December 2020, and we hired them for a second project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They have exceeded my expectations. Our website’s SEO has improved. They also put an underlying combination tool on our website to ensure a seamless workflow with our clients.

How did Windy Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They use Jira for project management. Windy Digital’s smart team has an individual who provides daily reports and manages his team really well. Our communication is mostly done by chatting via Slack and Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Windy Digital’s team is very hardworking. They not only meet our clients' specifications — they actually exceed our expectations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should improve their budgeting skills. We’re currently building the contract for the second project, but from what I’ve seen, their proposed budget might be too small. Also, their communication needs to improve. I'm just communicating with the team leaders, but I hope that we have better communication with the developers in the future.
