BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm a freelancer that works with a few select clients in the UK & US, managing seven figure paid/ppc budgets.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Webny Digital, and what were your goals?

One of my clients needed a new website and I had recommended Adam (Web Designer) for the project. After a few meetings and chats with other developers, Webny was selected to do the work. The goals was to build them an easy to use site (website builder, with limitations so that the client wouldn't accidentally break the theme) that was fast and compatible on mobile. Their site at the time began to break and cause issues with conversions and loss in organic rankings.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Adam and I had spoke in the past about the type of projects he's worked on and his platforms of choice. Using this knowledge, I took this to my client and he then decided to go ahead after reviewing a few other agencies who were unable to built it in the platform of choice (Oxygen).

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

After we had found a designer, gotten the correct file types, we then began scoping the development work in stages. We started off with building the mobile site, following tablet view, which then transcended to the desktop version. Once the base of the site on all devices had been covered, we then worked on what sort of CSS and interactivity we wanted to add based on the design and feedback from the client and their wider team of 15 people. RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The site improved on Google Page speeds by over 20 points on desktop and 40 points on mobile, bringing it up and past competing sites within the 3 local counties (service area of the wedding venue). Alongside this, mobile usability improved conversion by 36% and overall traffic was up 18% since going live. Given it's only been a month, these metrics will likely improve with time as the SERPs identify the site as being both mobile friendly and more useable (Time on site) than the previous version.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Adam is kind, communicative and will go the extra mile to ensure his clients are happy with his work, which in turn made my recommendation look great as well. His approach is to make partners and doesn't look at work on a project-by-project basis, which, in my experience, some developers do.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have the ability to adapt as the client's tastes and feedback change throughout the process.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The client had asked for something quite specific, a link-back to photographers crediting their work for each shot, there's a lot of them on a wedding site given that's what sells the venue, which took extra time and was difficult to implement but we got their in the end after a few meetings he had with the client and their wider team.
