OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire WCMS Solutions, and what were your goals?

We needed a custom asset management software with a few unique features that existing software didn't have.

Our goal was to make software that our employees will use. As most of our employees are over 40, we needed software that is easy to learn and use. Plus, we didn't need all the unnecessary features offered by existing free or premium software.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I and my employees are not that tech-savvy. So, we needed a vendor that can support us 24/7 and in person. So, we prepared a local company over any CA-based or NY-based firms. That's why we hired WCMS Solutions for this gig.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We knew what we needed, but it was difficult to describe, as some of the features of the software are unique. We met several times before they even started work. After describing everything they sent us an SRS and started working on the project. We met with their team several times during the development and gave feedbacks.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were probably 7 people on the team. However, we only spoke to two guys.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

They delivered exactly what we needed. Aside from developing the software, the WCMS Solutions team was really helpful and communicative in educating me and my team on how to best manage the project and grow.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

As I said, we are not tech-savvy, so we prefer to meet in person. They suggested that we monitor the development process in Trello, which is very easy to use, and we did. When we needed to contact us, we did it through skype or by phone. They delivered the software even before the final deadline.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The best thing about them was that their maintenance and support were great. We still can contact them at any time for any problem.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

One of the development team members speaks in technological terms, which is a bit difficult for a non-tech-savvy person to understand. We hope they only assign people who speak in an understandable language.
