We hired Tubik to design a custom mobile app interface and user experience for a new basketball player development mobile application. Tubik also designed a logo and color pallette for us.  Tubik designed a appealling and engaging UX/UI and a "clickable" prototype within Figma.  Each Tubik team member was patient, listened intently, clarified to gain additional understanding, and communicated consistently to ensure that we were thrilled with the process and the product.

Tubik went above and beyond in delivering a great process and product.  They communicated via email, Asana, and Figma.  Tubik consistently asked clarifying questions via Asana, Figma, and email. Taisy set up virutal calls along the delivery pathway, to ensure that they were capturing the vision that I had for the product.  Tubik consistently met their timelines, and most of the time attained them earlier than we expected.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I find most impressive was the quality of their work, the demonstration of professionalism and love of their craft, and their desire to exceed the vision that I tried to cast for them.  They wanted to deliver an outstanding product that exceeded our expectations, and their level of communication and timing was outstanding!  I also found that each team member was invested and engaged in the project, and that each team member was dedicated to do their job effectively and efficiently, and that each team member placed a high value on individual responsibility and teamwork.  It was the personal touch and professionalism of Tubik that will bring us back in the future!  And Taisy was amazing from start to finish!  She went above and beyond in her communication and patience with me.
From the initial call with Taisy, and throughout all calls and communication with team members, I was impressed with their processes, work, and their love of their craft.  They really wanted to exceed expectations and wanted our project to be successful for our target markets.

Are there any areas for improvement or something tubik could have done differently?

I cannot think of ways for Tubik to improve at this point- unless they want to have a payment process like to take a credit card payment from the USA? But that speaks nothing about the quality of their work or their processes.  It would maybe make it easier for an international client like myself- who lives 25 minutes from my bank

The project managers at Tubik do a great job of managing expectations around schedules, and communicate proactively in rare occasions that timelines slip. The team is great at responding quickly via Figma messages, on Slack and available to meet on short notice. 

They are able to iterate rapidly when provided with feedback, and follow up proactively when we are slow to provide feedback.

Based on the defined brand strategy, Tubik was asked to develop a new brand identity and design for our company. This included a new logo as well as the entire visual appearance of the brand in advertising and on our website. The aim was to create a fresher, more fun brand identity that would appeal to a wider audience.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

12 months after the launch of the new brand identity, we have doubled the number of new customers. This is not only due to the new branding, but it has certainly helped our growth.

The project was well coordinated by Tubik and our requirements were well taken care of. The only thing we would have liked was to have had more than 1 option for the logo, but after a bit of tweaking we ended up with the perfect design.

How did you select this vendor?

Tubik has won numerous awards and receives great feedback over the web for its design. When we looked at their portfolio online, we were impressed by the consistency of innovation and attractive design.

We started with a full branding exercise: Tubik walked us through a process to identify the qualities that our company, Superly, would like to exemplify, among other details. From there we worked through the UX process of each website page we envisioned, followed by the flushing out of the UI.

We worked directly with a PM in addition to multiple UX and UI designers. In all there were between 3 and 6 resources working on the project at one time.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We're optimistic that the UX is going to serve our customers well. One of our primary goals was to have a simple website that was easy for users to navigate. We believe that Tubik has achieved this goal. In addition, the aesthetics of the site are above and beyond our expectations - the WOW factor is there.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our project manager, Nick, has been a very effective communicator - which is exactly what we wanted. Every step of the way we have felt clued into what the team has been working on.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ingenuity, especially in the UI space, continues to blow us away. We are routinely surprised by the different ways - different color schemes and graphics, for example - they can present a concept.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Because the communication was so good, the project has gone so smoothly. No project goes in a straight line, so there were times when we had to pivot or change direction. But because the communication was so good we felt in complete control and felt comfortable throughout.

I’m the head of marketing and growth at an educational technology (EdTech) company. We have a digital math platform for the K–12 space that we currently sell to schools and school districts in Sweden and the US.

What challenge were you trying to address with tubik?

We wanted to create a new website with more compelling visuals and dynamic features for the visitors to interact with our product, mission, and us. Since we started our operations in the US, we also needed to create a new site for the US market.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

tubik provides us with web design and UI/UX design services for our website. Our site is built in Webflow, and the team uses Figma for the visual aspects. We’ve just finalized the main project, and we’ll continue to have a smaller collaboration with tubik for additional features and minor fixes. 

How did you come to work with tubik?

We’ve spent between $35,000–$40,000. 

How much have you invested with them?

Last year, we worked with a US consultant who had been working with tubik and recommended them. Additionally, we had done some work with them on a smaller project. Since our consultant also knew them and we were happy with tubik’s previous work for us, we decided to go ahead with this bigger project with them. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our website’s traffic and inbound leads have been increasing. Although we’re growing rapidly, and it’s difficult to say how much of our success comes from having a better site, I’m certain tubik’s work has positively impacted our company. 

How did tubik perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very responsive, accurate in providing timelines, and good at keeping their promises. When we need urgent fixes, they’ve been able to address them within the same day most of the time. 

As for communication, we have calls with them through Google Meet, where we discuss the bigger aspects of the project, like milestones and strategy. For day-to-day work, we’ve invited them to our Slack, where we have close contact with the team. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

In my experience, tubik offers very good value for money compared to some of the other firms I’ve worked with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could bring me along in the journey and tell me more about what needs to happen to achieve our goals. For example, sharing how much time will be spent on different parts of the project upfront would help me understand their detailed process better. Although they’ve been transparent about timelines, getting that understanding upfront would be even better. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When working with any agency, it’s important that you have someone on your side who’s responsible for driving the project forward. Additionally, being as clear as possible on your vision and goals will help tubik create something great. Although the team is super skilled, you should be the expert in who your customers are.

I am the co-founder of Tinloof, a Berlin-based web development agency that supports clients with different types of projects, such as the implementation of a headless CMS, improvements in performance, and creation of web application.

We decided which vendor to select based on their portfolio, expertise, and communication. Tubik aced them all.

One of the main projects we've worked is the rebranding and design of our website Tinloof. The process started with a brief we've sent them. They dissected it and then on a call we discussed the details. They proposed different ideas, and with ongoing communication, we ended up going for a certain style.

We kept iterating, until the website was ready. They were extremely flexible, as we've altered the scope mid-way, and they found time to allocate for it. Towards the end, they've also helped us by supporting our modular approach, and adapted the Figma accordingly.

Yes. Our new site is going to be attracting more leads thanks to the simplicity they have achieved.

Excellent. We communicated via Slack, and also had weekly phone calls. Nick has always been on point with updates and accurate answers.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their extremely fast responses, flexibility, and expertise in their craft show that they have tons of experience.

We had an prototype app that needed to be designed for the best UI/UX experience. We later involved Tubik for our website design as well.

How did you select this vendor?

We searched online for the best UX/UI developers and shortlisted few. After getting the app audited, and getting their initial approach and proposal, we were impressed and selected them. They also seemed to be a good fit for the kind of app design we were looking for.

The team asked the right questions, developed the user journeys along with us.. They later broken down the app into various sections, first presenting the UX pieces and later the UI for them. The app had a lot of features and they streamlined it well. We added several revisions along the way with new feature additions and deletions. All the while they were patient with us and presented with their views on why they had selected a certain way and open to suggestions. From time to time we continue to ask for changes based on the user inputs.

One UX/UI designer for the most part along with the Project manager who also helped out sometimes with the design.

We are very pleased with the outcome. The app UI/UX is well received by our customers. There was a consistent app UI/UX theme that was maintained throughout the development and having the same designer working with us helped us achieve this.

There was one initial call and most of the communication was via email (project scheduling etc) and via Figma for all the app work. It was mostly effective. Having more calls would have improved it further.

They had excellent UX/UI skills and experience, and always had a key eye on simplicity. They are well versed with industry trends and best practices. They were willing to listen and clarify the choices they made

Having more phone calls could have helped with clarifications.

We were creating a new product for a new audience and re-branding the company. We hired Tubik to help us build the new brand, visual identity & language and use those to design the UI of the mobile app and website

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for a design studio with diverse expertise. Aside from brand and UI design, we had significant photography and video assets to build and incorporate and need to build a new story-telling language. Tubik had a strong interdisciplinary team, great portfolio of brand and storytelling and experience with our industry. We also found their pre-project questions to be very professional and helpful.

The project started with the Tubik team thoroughly interviewing us about the company, product, customers and industry. They then did a lot of their own research and competitive analsysis. We did several iterations as they became more familiar with the audience on the brand messaging followed by a wonderful collaborative exercise on choose design languages. After this they delivered the first draft of brand in an exceptional video followed by Figma files. Once we finalized the brand, they delivered additional resources based on it for social media, web and business card.

Afterwards we set on to building the app UX and UI. We had done a concurrent review of our draft wireframes with them while the branding was still in process. When branding was ready, they had already managed to create initial mocks of UI based on the wireframes. From there we iterated over various concepts. It was fluid and we ended up with a fully fleshed out app with a design system our engineers picked up and began implemeting.

As we engineered the app, questions and new perspectives came up. We would just reach out to Tubik, brainstorm and would get feedbacks and solutions.

In total we worked with over 5 people from Tubik - brand researchers, brand designer, motion designers and UI/UX designers. Their project manager acted as our main coordinator which made this very easy.

We launch a new app, website and social presence with the work provided by Tubik. We've received exceptionally strong positive feedback across the board on all of them and some of our members grew exceptionally excited about being part of our product.

Very effective, having a main project manager makes communication easier, but at the same time we had a simple direct line with the designers, so we could iterate on the designs

We began working together in December 2019, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re designing and creating highly innovative things that haven’t been done before. The creative process takes time to be done right. I’m delighted with the designs they’ve shown me — I’m dazzled every time. My investors and stockholders have been impressed, giving excellent feedback, as well. We tested user experience with third-party users outside the company, and the initial reaction was positive. The team can achieve everything they showcase, and I’ll continue working with them.

How did Tubik Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re professional, communicate well, and are available and responsive. In terms of tools and communication, we use Trello, Confluence, Jira, Slack, email, and Google Meets.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They do solid research and are knowledgeable in their expertise. They deliver what they promise, and I haven’t been disappointed by anything they’ve done.

I don't think there's anything they can improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Do your research first and find examples. Be extremely clear about what you want. The clearer you are, the better the product will be.

Although we are the pioneer & the most widely known service provider in Korea, we needed a new brand dedicated for the global market. Tubik Studio helped us creating the Website from scratch to publishing even with the extremely tight schedule we had back then.

We were looking for world-class web & UX/UI design team that could tailor a new look for our global brand. After having reviewed the portfolio, we knew we would have no other choices other than going together with Tubik.

Imagine a collaboration between two different time zones with about 6 hrs of difference in time. It must have been a big challenge, but apparently it wasn't for our case. Tubik was both friendly and professional in every aspect - their timely communication and support lead this project to a success. We had less than a month to design and another to both develop and publish. Decisions and plans would change frequently here and there, but Tubik was there together with us all along with their full support.

We're still in the midst of planning our global approach; Tubik's contributions will be the foundation of our new business.

Due to time zone differences, we communicated mainly through e-mail and Trello; yet Trello was more than enough to communicate efficiently without any errors.

Whenever we'd face a new challenge on the way, Tubik was there to provide us with solutions - problem solved!

Honestly, I can't think of any.
