BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the CTO of a software company based in the UK. We deliver end to end software projects to corporates.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Tigillo, and what were your goals?

We had serious capacity problems for delivering a digital wealth and asset management platform. Tigillo provided critical talent for the developing backend software and managing our cloud environments.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found them through LinkedIn and chose Tigillo as immediately available talents introduced for a reasonable price. The team was consist of backend developers and DevOps engineers located in both the UK and Turkey where the timezone difference is acceptable. The other vendors were either too expensive or introduced a team not compatible with the work.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

They designed and developed a Java based solution that can be easily scaled for our expanding customer portfolio. They come with MongoDB solution for storing data dynamically which saved out time and money for customizing customer data. They also provided extended search capabilities for the app by using elastic search.

They started with a continuous delivery approach from day one. All services currently running on a managed Kubernetes currently. Test coverage was also satisfying with an average of around %70 per services.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were four people in the development team and one in the platform team, five in total.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to meet deadlines without sacrificing the quality, with no defects in production till this time. We started as a prototype but their design was quite flexible and saved our efforts to turn it into a real app.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project management was on our side actually but they helped very well to provide correct tools to us for managing the software development life cycle and team collaboration. A Gitlab based solution was applied for most of the technical tool requirements which I really fall in love and also it was free of charge.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their commitment to the work and quality of the software developed are absolutely impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They don't have any mobile developers, would be great to get end to end development experience from a single team.
