here were several gaps in the solution that we needed a custom App for. I connected with TechInfini (along with several other vendors) to build an app that would allow us to accept down payments on orders and then process partial payments as they come in.

I’m the founder of a web development, digital marketing, and hosting company. We work with various outsourced partners.

What challenge were you trying to address with TechInfini Solutions?
We needed WordPress web design with custom themes and the development of custom plug-ins.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They did web design for several of our internal clients. They developed a vision statement and worked with us to get approval, then converted the designs into a technical specifications document on which we could iterate. After that was approved, we built a backlog in Jira and monitored the progress of the development. We did this using Agile Kanban methodology. They did all required frontend and backend work. They incorporated existing WordPress plugins while also developing custom solutions.
What is the team composition?
I’ve primarily interfaced with Sateesh (Senior Software Engineer, TechInfini Solutions), but there were times when we included the developers in our calls.
How did you come to work with TechInfini Solutions?
I believe we found them on Upwork. We interviewed lots of teams and considered their reviews. They worked on a small project first as a test, and they passed. We ended up working predominantly with them for 1–2 years.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in January 2015 and the engagement concluded in December 2016.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They produced good designs within our budget. They built a lot of backend extensions for us, which we’re still using, with a fairly small maintenance investment. They’ve delivered quality code. Quick response and turnaround were the most important factors for us. They gave us dedicated and consistent resources, and they made themselves available for any emergencies. This has been a good collaboration.
How did TechInfini Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
They provided us with specifications and got approval for them, instead of just diving into things. Many developers don’t take that step until it’s too late. They also did a great job of providing written documentation, and they were responsive and available. We used Slack and Skype as needed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have a breadth of capabilities, which makes it easy to work with them. We initially had trouble finding a one-stop-shop for high-quality design and development work, and I’ve always considered them to be great at both.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s a methodology for committing work to Git. It’s necessary to do it in an organized way, and we had an issue with TechInfini Solutions’ big code commits. Their method made it hard to see the code associated with particular Jira tickets. Instead, we’d see large commits for multiple tickets.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Establishing a process with them is important. Clients should clearly state their expectations and the process they want TechInfini Solutions to follow.
