We needed help with frontend development for a web and mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed the frontend of our web and mobile app solution that allows vendors to promote their products, boost sales, and give discounts. Customers can also compare product prices and save items that they want to revisit. There's also a geolocation feature that pushes notifications based on user proximity to stores.

They used React Native and handled API integrations. Tapston created the full scope of the frontend work. We are launching next week, starting with the mobile part. In two weeks, we’re going to launch the web part. The mobile app is for iOS and Android.

We worked with five people but were mainly in contact with the project manager who distributed all the information to other team members.

The functionality of the apps has been good. When we needed to tweak some aspects to respond to the global pandemic, Tapstone was open-minded to make changes. They helped us without charging extra for those adjustments.

We were in contact with the project manager through Slack, which was always pleasant. We had transparent and clear project tasks already developed, so planning was no issue. However, we still used Jira to connect our backend team with their frontend people.

I was surprised by the speed of their reaction times. They conducted all the communication quite fast.

we received initial mockups and design directions on some key screens and these were used to convert existing screens and implement new ideas/ approach to usage of the planned application.

All in all we are now close to a 100 screens and it all fits perfectly without feeling lost. The screens are grouped correctly as processes which make reviews easy from an end to end perspective

Very lean team. The project manager pretty much handled everything so we didnt need to communicate with many people

Initial scope of work was completed with 3 weeks. Project has been extended for another month to allow additional designs.

Very effective. Using a combination of slack and Figma we were pretty much able to track comments, share samples and collaborate

The project manager is very detailed. She’s able to communicate our needs and desires to the designers. Even though we do talk to the designers as well, sometimes there’s a language barrier that she can help with. They meet deadlines.

The value for cost is impressive. It’s very affordable, high-quality work in comparison to other companies we’ve worked with in the past.

They don’t just take the wireframes and design; they are very involved in the process. They come up with ideas we hadn’t thought of.

The language barrier has had no impact on the quality of work that is delivered.

Write things down, have lots of sketches, and listen to their recommendations and advice.

My company wanted to create an app to increase brand awareness. We needed to enable push notifications and give our consumers access to their discount card at any time.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tapston developed iOS and Android apps using React and React Native. They integrated an SMS process of authorization where users receive a code, enter it in the app, and then get access to their profile. Tapston also created a location feature that enables shoppers to see themselves and nearby shops on a map, and then get information about those shops. Users can visit social networks within the app and send forms for app support.

There was one designer, three developers, and two QA testers. All communication was with a project manager.

The apps have launched, and they function well. We’ve only gotten good feedback; people love them. They’ve turned out as we imagined they would. Tapston met all of the requirements.

Project management was pretty good. They were available all the time. We communicated through Slack, which was very convenient for us. They used Jira, and we had access to it to see what was going on. They resolved all of our questions very quickly. Everything was quick. They delivered on time and on budget.

Their attitude was impressive; they really wanted to make a good product. We are thinking about working with them again in the future. We agreed on a budget, and everything was fair.

We originally contracted them to build an iOS and Android app for a smart home solution, but they just finished our webpage, so that’s what I’ll talk about.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I had an old web page already, but I wanted it to be modern for a professional team. They were to take the content on the existing site and copy it into a new design. This required some graphic elements and video implementation. Overall, it was focused on providing a modern structure and modern design. It also had to be connected to the app.

We worked with a project manager, a UX designer, and a developer. I’m not sure how many developers there were because the project manager handled all the communication.

Originally, we found them on Clutch. We’d had a good experience building the app with them and asked them to build the webpage as well. We couldn’t do it internally because we lacked a graphic expert. They were fast in responding and giving us a good price for the website.

We began the website project on July 1st of 2019 and finished a month and a half later. We have all their content and will launch after some fine-tuning.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I showed the website to a group of 20 people, and they all really liked what Tapston did. Specifically, they said it was lightyears ahead of where the other website had been. Tapston delivered exactly what I was looking for the first time, and they even made additional suggestions. They know how users behave and transferred lots of that knowledge to us.

How did Tapston perform from a project management standpoint?

We had daily communication with the project manager over Skype, whether that was document sharing or chatting. They were absolutely on time with everything.

What did you find most impressive about them?

From day one, they were the most responsive vendor. Even in the very beginning, they shared materials and presented their own ideas. Their depth of knowledge was obvious.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They took a risky tactic in negotiating the original app contract. Because they know what they’re doing, they know exactly how much a project will cost and they won’t go below that level. The other company I was considering wasn’t performing (I felt like I wouldn’t receive personal service), so I ended up going with Tapston anyway.

Have open communication about the project and feedback. Also, discussing potential technologies with them allows them to display their knowledge, which will build confidence and trust in the relationship.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tapston developed the app of us and the process was quite smooth. The main goal was to create an app that would help people learn basic grammar and improve their skills and knowledge in languages.

I provided Tapston with the requirements and designs. I wasn’t sure about which technology to use, and whether I wanted a native application or cross-platform application. Their project manager addressed all of my questions so that we could find the best solution for implementing the app. We ended up deciding to create it with React Native.

Tapston was easy going, always on time, and answered all my questions clearly. Everything has been really great. I really appreciate when the relationship is more of a friendship rather than just that of a client and vendor.

I had the experience of working with the developers as well as the project manager at Tapston. Many developers don’t have soft skills, but the Tapston team always addressed my concerns and were very polite and kind. I'm really satisfied with their work. I have new ideas to implement and am planning to go back to Tapston sometime in the future.

How did Tapston perform from a project management standpoint?

We used more of a Scrum methodology. Tapston provided updates every other sprint so that I could see what was completed and what was upcoming in the next sprint. We mostly used Skype for communication as well as Jira. I could see all the tasks that were in progress and were completed, as well as the next tasks in the development plan.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their attitude was perfect and it set them apart from other providers. I really appreciate how Tapston works. I’m quite sure that I could call the company’s director night and he would kindly answer all of my questions. Additionally, they have highly skilled developers.

No. I set the timelines and we used more of a waterfall methodology. All deadlines were met.
