What challenge were you trying to address with Syntech Software?

I’m a professional investor myself — I invest a lot of my funds into equity markets and different investments, and keeping track of everything has been notoriously difficult. I wanted to build a platform that could help people understand the overall view of their portfolio in relation to the wider markets and help them take control of their financial clout.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired Syntech to develop an investment management platform. We started the engagement with a discovery phase, wherein we worked together to understand the scope of what we wanted to build. We also looked at our competitors to see how they were doing in the market as well as the kind of features and designs that their products have.

After that, we worked with Syntech Software to design the platform’s color scheme and build its algorithm. They also built a landing page for us. They then created a dashboard, which allowed users to plug-in to the current brokers in the UK market.

We’ve spent around $58,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The platform is not yet live, but it is functioning as we expected. Additionally, because I run my own investor group, I can get our members to test the product. Syntech Software has been actively participating in this phase as well — they have been joining our calls and talking to our members to get feedback on the solution.

Moreover, Syntech Software actually mitigated the cost by understanding what we wanted. They provided us with different options to ensure that we got what we wanted in the most cost-effective way.

How did Syntech Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Syntech Software has been highly engaged throughout the project. They always make sure to check in with me and provide me with updates every step of the way. They’re always enthusiastic and on top of everything.

However, the best thing about Syntech Software’s project management is their project manager’s ability to understand the technical side of the project. He understands exactly what I want, and he knows exactly how to relay that information to their developers.

We typically communicate via Skype. We have weekly meetings to make sure that we’re on the same page.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with Syntech Software’s exceptional communication and strong project ownership. I really appreciate how they treat our business like it’s theirs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think Syntech Software could improve on their ability to scale. They need to make sure that they have enough developers to cover all of their projects.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you want to achieve something, you've got to understand what you want to achieve as well as your boundaries.
