Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

I needed an email system which would check in with my Shopify customers. The email system needed to be managed right from the Shopify account page and be a seamless experience for the user. The user could modify how often they would receive email reminders from our system. The system would then email the user based on their configuration to check for their activity. We provide a service which performs a specific action if the user does not respond after a certain amount of time. 

Additionally this system required a dashboard where the admin can view all of the customers activity. The dashboard had a number of features including resetting accounts, and changing the user statuses. The dashboard was hosted on a separate server and communicated with Shopify via requests. There were also a huge number of design changes made to the website along with features that Shopify did not have such as the configuration options for the email system. 

Summary of Deliverables

• Create a email check-in system which emails the user based on their configured settings. 
• Embed the settings into the Shopify User Page. 
• Create a admin dashboard which allows the admin to login to a dashboard and view all customers and their data. 
• Integrate the email system with MailGun and create a variety of different templates which will send based upon the customers status. 
• Make heavy modifications to the Shopify theme to match desired branding. 
• Create new pages within the customer account page to show a dashboard for customers to see their active products.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The measurable outcomes was that Synapse was able to complete the tasks exactly as described. The email system is working as expected and the modifications to the Shopify store are very professionally done.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Their project management is top tier. They send email updates everyday so you can see the progress of what was completed for that date. They also are available daily for a Skype video call if needed. They always responded to each of my emails within a few hours and I was kept in the loop of what they were working on. 

There were some things which I forgot to include in my initial job which they also included to me for no additional charge. Later, we found a few errors with our code because links were not handling special characters such as + in the url properly. The quickly found and addressed this issue within a single working day.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

When searching for work I found a lot of talented programmers who could help. I wanted a "team" of programmers as opposed to relying on a single person to do the whole job. I also like that there is a chain of command, a project manager, a developer, and a huge company at their disposal to get this job done. 

It also took me a while to research who I wanted to hire, and during this research term I met with them via Skype several times and was pleased at their professionalism and ability to clearly decipher my needs. They're very clear with the service they're providing and the deliverables. You can tell they have been doing this for a long time because everything was very smooth like a well oiled machine.

Are there any areas for improvement or something SynapseIndia could have done differently?

I am very pleased with SynapseIndia and still hold true that they are the best of the other developers I was searching for. I had a extensive list (I made a spreadsheet) of all the people I was looking for and SynapseIndia really outshined everyone else. 

English is not the first language of the developer that I am working with but this does not matter because their english is fluent. The price is also very competitive and I can't see any improvements. I really am truly happy to have found such a talented programming house!

SynapseIndia was going to provide Shopify development services for us. They sent a proposal, and we looked at it, but we then dropped the idea of getting the website, so we didn't get to the point of actually working on website design.

We were planning to go ahead with the project, but then we dropped the idea and asked SynapseIndia to give us a refund, which they did.

they were supposed to work on a new website - we had provided them with our current site and also competition site - they took the money and then they started asking us where is the logo :) dude the current website has logo phone number data content but they didnt want to use common sense

They did not need to schedule work far out in advance - they just get it done quickly.

High level strategy would be nice. So rather than being task masters, they could sit with me and understand the objectives of the project. But honestly, they would have been happy to do that if I requested it. They are very smart and totally capable of critical and strategic thinking.

We hired Synapse to help in developing APIs and custom features that we needed for our market. they showed excellent and professional way in handling communication and alignment in from the beginning of the project.

They were among few outsourcing companies who understand the problem that we are trying to solve and we started to build scope of work and defining the challenges before starting the project. Having someone who understand the problem is most important so we do not waste time in re-building something that does not function in needed way.
