I'm the Program Manager for Second Life, an ocean plastic recovery and recycling operation.

Our website was originally developed in house, and we felt it was time for a redesign and more functionality to be added to the website. SomTam Labs helped us create the redesigned website, as well as develop it and set up backend tools like Google Workspace as well.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had heard about SomTam labs through our network, and ultimately decided upon them for their past experience and sensible pricing.

We had a kick off meeting, discussing the brief we sent to them; we spent a few weeks going over and finalising the different pages and flows for the website; finally they implemented the final website and helped us set up our back end tools as well. In addition, they helped us make sure our core SEO for the website was in order.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

A project manager was our main point of contact, with occasional meetings with their designer; we had online meetings, as well as regular emails.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our website looked a lot cleaner and more professional, thanks to the team. and our back end services, including Google Workspace and the server are now much more reliable than before.

Our main communications were via email, and meetings several times per week online during the design phase; this was good to fit into our busy schedule as a company, and also provide the right amount of feedback for the team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were responsive when we notified them that there were issues with the function of the website/tools/email during the set up process, and worked with us to resolve these asap.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

During the design process, we felt there were some areas which could have been resolved in house, or reviewed in detail with their team prior to feedback. This was communicated, and the team was able to go away and make the required revisions in house.

We are a B2B training organization, specialized in soft skills and oral communication. As part of the team, I lead the project of our mobile application as well as the marketing and digital communication of our company.

We wanted an application that would be available quickly and at an interesting cost. We also really liked the complementary nature of the agency's business and developer profiles.

We knew the founder from previous projects we had worked on together. We wished to call upon SomTamLabs to have all the profiles that this project needed to be developed properly, respecting our budget and planning constraints.

We have been working together closely. Every week, we decide on the next feature to be developed. We exchange ideas, feasibility and technical limits. SomTamLabs accompanies us in our development versioning.

We are a pair that manages the product and its development, marketing and promotion.

We are constantly improving our application so that it always better meets the needs of users, it is a project with several perspectives.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We haven't encountered any particular problems. We have a weekly meeting to discuss the progress and the next functionalities or to clarify any issues encountered during the last few days.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

SomTamLabs is always available and a responsive agency. Developers' profiles are complementary and therefore meet a wide variety of technical constraints.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Being in the same time zone would have been ideal, but of course, nothing to block it.

Spie Oil & Gas Services (SOGS), providing Engineering and Manpower mamly to Oil & Gas Compaies. I am Digital Project Manager for Middle East and Pacific Asia, responsible of internally and externally develop tools to grow efficiency of operators/supervisors.

For their development skills. SOGS was creating Interactive Operating Manual (IM) which consists in hyperlink Manuals, Procedures and Drawings together for a better readability.

After a call for tender, we chosen SomTamLabs (STL) for their attractive costs and their proximity (based in BKK as per SOGS). Their team also made a good impression during the first meetings.

In a nutshell:

• Rebuild the existing HTML UI from the pilot
• Convert pdf and native doc into HTML format with same template
• hyperlink documents between themselves when they are referred
• Improve UX of the existing pilot

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I am very happy with the result. STL tried to understand the need to provide a deliverable as good as possible. The project was difficult to manage and STL followed the steps asked by SOGS.

They have done more than the double of work identified during the call for tender and found a way to automatize/optimize their work to make it into the budget.

Very agile. As the project was small, we used only a Google sheet database to track the documents converted and hyperlinks created. That was enough for this project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The fact that they directly tried to automatize tasks. They tried to understand the purpose of the product to make it easier to use for end users.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only area of improvement I see is communication between STL and SOGS (both sides are responsible of this). A bit of time has been lost because of misunderstanding.

We hired SomTamLabs to create a unique and modern looking website that would help our brand get a strong start into the industry. We wanted a design that fit with our values and aesthetics as a brand.

We searched online for a local web development agency and found a couple of choice. Based on their portfolios and website, SomTam labs seemed the most intriguing. We then called them and described our project and they accepted the task.

We started off with an introduction meeting to describe our needs and to allow SomTam labs to let us know whether or not the project suited them. Then once we agreed to begin the project, SomTamLabs worked on the wireframes and website flows that I had to confirm. Once confirmed, they proceeded to website development where we finalized UI/UX changes. Finally, they helped give instructions on how to operate the backend system of the website where they remained on standby for support.

Our main point of contact was a project manager, Marine, who helped organize everything with her designers and developers.

We have gotten great feedback for our website.

The project management style was excellent. Having Marine (project manager) as the main point of contact made everything incredibly streamlined and simple.

Although a small company, they were able to deliver a product that rivaled those from bigger companies. Their level of professionalism was also very impressive. They were always quick to respond and follow up with any questions I had.

Some design bugs kept reoccurring however they were quick to resolve those reoccurring issues.

First meeting via Skype to discuss the project. Then a quote was made by Som Tam Labs and we approved it. Wireframes were then provided. The development started on both mobile and our website. Once developments were finalized we reviewed the app and fixed the few bugs together with the project manager.

I was in contact with one project manager who centralized all information. This made it very easy to share our feedbacks and adapt the development. The project manager was very effective.

Our apps work perfectly and we are very satisfied with the work done. We have been able to use our apps as intended.
