The team maintained excellent communication throughout the project, providing regular updates and responding quickly to our questions. While they didn't meet the original timeline, they handled the delays professionally by proactively communicating issues, explaining the reasons clearly, and providing realistic revised schedules.

What stood out was their transparency about challenges and commitment to quality work. They kept us informed at every step and responded promptly when we had urgent needs. Although punctuality could be improved, their strong communication skills and professional approach to managing delays made for a positive overall experience.

Their commitment to transparency stood out most. Instead of making excuses or going silent when delays occurred, they became more communicative and solution-focused. This level of honesty and client-first approach is rare in web development - they clearly valued our partnership over simply meeting deadlines.

Are there any areas for improvement or something SolCoders could have done differently?

The main area for improvement would be project timeline management. While SolCoders handled delays professionally, better initial planning or more conservative deadline estimates could prevent these situations altogether. Implementing buffer time for unforeseen challenges or being more realistic about scope complexity upfront would enhance the overall client experience.

Their communication and problem-solving skills are excellent, so focusing on more accurate project scoping and timeline estimation would make them even stronger.

staged environments were required to build away from live sources.

Great technical knowledge of Laravel required for this project as well as JS and also deep understanding of MySQL.

Milestones were set for each stage of the build which were very rarely missed and if they were, it was generally down to missed information or additions discovered along the way.

All milestones were met with the exception of times where we made additional demands on the project causing milestones to moved slightly, but always informed of delays etc which was always appreciated.

Nothing is ever to much trouble.  SolCoders often offered expert advice on how things may work better or more smoothly.

Knowledge of the tech we needed and responsiveness to any issues or requests we may have had or needed.  Anything urgent was very promptly dealt with.

Not at this stage but we plan on working with them again so there might be areas in the future, but nothing we've found now.

I’m Lex Maru, founder of a website and online store development company called Doberman.

What challenge were you trying to address with SolCoders?

We needed help with the development of an intricate and creatively dense Shopify app. We are also Shopify and website developers, but creating an app is much more complicated and we needed to work with an expert to accomplish our goal.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SolCoders has built an app that involves lots of user customization options, particular code knowledge, and a simple but powerful UI for using the app. The team has handled everything, using my vision and other references we built on Webflow to convert the vision into a fully functioning Shopify app.

We’ve worked with 3 teammates from SolCoders. They communicated efficiently and always kept me updated. They are also very courteous and understanding, which is a big plus when dealing in complicated fields like Shopify app and code development.

We found them through an online search for specialized Shopify tasks. We chose them over other options because they had high ratings, great value for the cost, and were specialized in Shopify app development.

So far, we’ve spent a couple thousand dollars.

We started working with them in May 2025 and the engagement is ongoing. We hope to work together for the foreseeable future.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

SolCoders answers all my questions and solves app bugs usually within 24 hours. We’ve spent almost four months getting everything dialed in and polished, and the team has also helped me with the app submission approval process. Moreover, their ability to implement new features into the app is fast and powerful. 
For example, they’ve been able to develop requests for scrolling the page to the top when a certain part of the app is engaged, creating section sticky buttons, and optimizing draggability in mobile since it is click and drag on desktop. Basically, they’ve make look simple what is surprisingly difficult to execute if you're not an expert.

How did SolCoders perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very attentive and respond to inquiries quickly. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps. They also sometimes send me screen-recorded videos to discuss certain features, which is great.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their attention to detail and understanding of what I’m looking for are incredible. They never say no, they just try to figure out a solution. And they always solve it.

They’ve been amazing; I’m actually continuing more work with them.

I'm the director of Online VAT Services LTD, a financial services company. We assist online sellers with IOSS registration and filing services, and we develop technology to help us do that.

What challenge were you trying to address with SolCoders?

We needed help creating a Shopify app that would collect sales and refund data from Shopify websites and apply VAT calculations to that data.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of work performed?

SolCoders developed a user-friendly app that fetches all transactional data, including currency, destination country of shipment, discounts, and gross amount collected per order from the customer. The app allows date range selection of data and enables users to download it as JSON or CSV through an easy-to-use admin portal. The team also implemented an API to collect Shopify client data.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two teammates from SolCoders.

How did you come to work with SolCoders?

We found SolCoders through an online search. We chose them over other options because they had past experience developing Shopify apps.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with SolCoders from June 2023–February 2024 for version one of the app. We are currently working with them on version two, which started in September 2024, and this engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have a live Shopify app and have received customer feedback about using the app. Customers now save time because they don’t need to manually collect data and share it with us. This has made our company more efficient.

There are few developers who understand the Shopify ecosystem and environment.
