Project Scope of Work
This project involved a complete overhaul and build of our platform, focusing on both the user experience and the underlying technology. The work encompassed a full-stack development approach, from initial design to the final, functional application.

 Key Deliverables
 

• Frontend Design and Development: A completely new frontend design was created in Figma, providing a modern, intuitive, and engaging user interface. This design was then developed and built on the Remix React framework, ensuring a fast, performant, and scalable user experience.
• Backend Development: The application's backend was extensively developed and optimized to support the new frontend. A significant part of this work involved AI tuning and data preparation to ensure the AI models were accurate and efficient. This included data cleaning, normalization, and structuring to facilitate seamless integration and optimal performance of the AI-powered features.

What was most unique about this company was their collaborative approach. They felt less like a vendor and more like a true partner. Their team seamlessly integrated with ours, offering creative solutions during the design phase and communicating transparently throughout development. This level of partnership is rare and made the entire process highly effective and enjoyable.

No, there were no areas for improvement. We were fully satisfied with the outcome of the project and their overall process.

• SmashTaps was entursted with building a platform that allowed people to create thier personal accounts (with SSO or creating their own credentials), to log their volunteer hours.
• Users have the ability to create a page for their non-profit, school, company, etc., for users to tag the page to have their volunteer hours verified.
• Users receive a weekly impact report show the number of volunteer hours they've completed.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

SmashTaps delivered a reliable and scaleable product

There were some minor hiccups at the begining which affected the initial timelines, but the CEO of SmashTaps took my feedback very seriously and quickly attended to them. Which resulted in streamlined and on time deliveries. 
They were very responsive to all my requests.
I have worked with 3 other service providing companies, SmashTaps by far had best customer service.
CEO Praveena is very detail-oriented and takes a lot of notes, to ensure the customer's needs are met.

Goals of the project were fully met, MVP in use since go-live.

Following an agile scrum approach we had bi-weekly meetings and 1-2 quick consultations per week to clarify or discuss certain requests of mine with the respective developer. At the beginning of new epics we typically conducted special kickoff meetings to ensure the right information has been provided.
As a client I was asked to provide supervision, review progress and approve finalized stories via Jira.
This progress provided exceptional transparency. The team was disciplined and fast.

1. Their ability to understand the fairly complex, industry-based requirements I had was impressive.

Hard to say. They could've pushed me harder at times while agile software development is a group effort.

I had a previous experience with SmashTaps in the past. I found then and now that they are doing a great job, with high quality and on time

SmashTaps build out FE in react and also did some work on the BE with NodeJs. SmashTaps joined our scrum teams and worked on UserStories/Bugs from the backlog as all other engeneer did, we worked with them for over 2 years. SmashTaps QA also joined our QA team for writing and execute tests to keep the product safe and well tested

For what projects/services did your company hire SmashTaps Pvt Ltd, and what were your goals?

We hired SmashTaps to build an audio chat network for those working from anywhere. Our goal was to create a live forum and coaching environment that fosters job growth by giving everyone access to each other’s knowledge. We wanted to follow a modern look and feel with great user experience that attracts professionals.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Our investor selected SmashTaps because they have had worked together on multiple projects before.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We initially provided them with a Product Requirements Document and then we had several meetings to define the project scope, identify technologies, processes, standards and methodologies. Then they translated them into User Stories on Jira, their Project Management tool. Project scope included design and development of the iOS mobile application (including the backend) and the marketing website.

They started with creating User flows, Wireframes and then moving to designing the UI elements and prototypes on Figma. After incorporating our feedback, the designs were finalized. Then the development phase was started which included a research on real-time audio communication – a core feature of the app. Each build was shared with us via TestFlight for feedback.

Project Manager, UI/UX Designer, Full-Stack Developers and a QA Engineer were assigned to this project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

UX was finalized within the first 1.5 months and then the core features of the application were developed in the next 4 months.

We had status update meetings via Google Meet twice per week with the Project Manager. They maintained good communication and kept us informed about any challenges/blockers as well via online meetings and email. We were able to give design feedback directly to the designer via Figma. TestFlight was used to share incremental app builds to get our early feedback.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were a fast-moving, creative team; they were able to deliver prototypes and changes ahead of schedule. High attention to detail and great communication throughout the project.

We were happy with the overall results we got.
