BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the director of engineering at a company that manufactures devices that contain electronics, software, actuators, and connectivity which allows these things to connect, interact, and exchange data.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Skilum?

The amount of IoT devices we were producing was rapidly rising, and Excel wasn't good enough for coordinating all the processes. We realized that we needed a CRM for managing the organization’s relationships and interactions with actual and potential customers.

What were your goals for this project?

We believed that a CRM system specifically designed for our needs would help us stay connected to customers, streamline internal processes, and improve our overall profitability.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

They were recommended to us by another agency. It was an urgent project, so we needed a company that would be ready to start working immediately. We also had a limited budget and specific requirements that not every company was able to meet.

After a Skype call with Skilum, we knew that we were dealing with professionals that knew not only how to execute our project but also how to make it better and give us advice. It was the main deciding factor.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

We provided them with a brief checklist first and then defined the workflow. If we had any additional questions, we discussed them together so that we were all informed of all the details as well as possible difficulties. Moreover, their developers made several improvements based on their suggestions.

What was the team composition?

They assigned a project manager, who was our point of contact, as well as three developers to perform the work. One of them was on a full-time basis and two senior developers were available as needed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We now aren’t afraid of forgetting about clients and we have all our data in one place, which is very convenient. All processes became quicker and it has increased our profits.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

All communication, planning, and management were done through Slack and Trello. They replied to all our requests in a fast and professional manner.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We liked their open communication with each member of the team and their desire to help us as a customer.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The only suggestion I’d make is that they should talk about all possible issues so that we could’ve been ready for them.
