Design and develop a custom WordPress / Woo-Commerce store based on existing sitemap, with easy to manage content features and advanced product filtering & tagging. The store will feature wholesaler accounts, allowing those users to access the full store at wholesale prices. A ‘Build a Truckload’ web app will allow wholesalers to configure a 16-pallet truckload of mix-&-match product pallets.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Site Nine completed all aspects of the initial scope we hired them for. As a result we have decided to keep them on as our permanent, outside development team for all future projects and builds.

Site Nine was highly efficient in all aspects of their project management schedule. There were never any delays on the design or development sides of the project. Effective communication standards via email, phone, text, and virtual meetings really set them apart from our past experiences. They completed the project the way we wanted it, and outperformed all of our original expectations.

Their laid back but professional culture was definitely something that resonated with our team. We approach our business in a similar fashion and knew right away that they were the partners for us.

The only recommendation would be to potentially build in a post development/launch guideline within their standard package. Because there are so many new features and functions, it would be easier on the client if there was some kind of guide to help the internal team understand back-end operations.

We contacted Sitenine to support with work that went beyond our design and development agencies capabilities. They have been an exceptional partner in taking on complicated WordPress development tasks such as building a job board with full functionality (filters, alerts, search, and scraping). We have come to rely on them for not only building our complicated functions but also maintaining our site.

We use Site Nine for website development as we don't have developers in house. We take on a lot of website redesign projects for our clients and Site Nine has become a reliable and affordable partner for us to execute our designs.

What were your goals for this project?

In the time we've worked with Site Nine, they have executed a wide scope of website projects, from small non-profits to e-commerce retail and large scale international cyber defense.

Site Nine has been a very reliable partner in executing our creative vision and functionality needs, always within reasonable timelines. Our clients are continuously impressed with the website execution and backend ease of use.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are just so easy to work with and we find that the execution of our designs is always flawless. Even when our designs are complex and unique, they deliver quality results.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I've had a very positive work experience with Site Nine, the only downside is we have little face-to-face interaction/check-ins but we are on opposite coasts.

What was the scope of their involvement?

For this project we required a full custom Wordpress theme developed from our Adobe XD designs. The site required development of a custom multi-media resource library, events management system, news, and blog post types. The admin dashboard developed utilized Advanced Custom Fields, so we could easily manage content for the site. The site was also fully mobile responsive, with extensive video incorporated on the frontend. 

What is the team composition?

There is a project manager (David) and a team of developers. I dealt directly with David on this project.

How did you come to work with Site Nine Studios?

We have been working with Site Nine Studios for over 4 years now. I believe Scott (my boss) connected with them initially on a project, and we have been working with them ever since. 

How much have you invested with them?

Overall we would have spent $100k+ on projects with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

The initial project build begun in Jan 2020 and was completed mid Feb 2020. 

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

As stated above, we have been working with Site Nine for many years. We have now developed a really great working relationship over time. They understand our business and needs well. They are really friendly and easy to deal with, which makes my job easier and takes some of the stress away.

How did Site Nine Studios address the challenges that arose?

There were no real challenges with this particular project. As the project was planned and approved before development, all the main decisions were set out at project launch. We scoped these with David before the project kick-off, which then led to a smooth project.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

They provide really high-end work and are super reliable! We can confidently take on projects knowing that we have the Site Nine team backing us. They also understand our agency model, it’s seamless when working with them. Relying on flaky freelance developers in the past was stressful, so this has been a relief! 

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We were able to develop a really high quality Wordpress website for our client. They are a long-term client of ours and they were super happy with the results. We are continually working on the site, to help drive new business for our client. The Site Nine team has been a big help with continued support also.

How did Site Nine Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

They were really great! The project ran smoothly and the timeline we set at the start of the project was adhered to. They are always responsive if we ever need anything along the way. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The main thing we love is how beautifully they execute our designs in to development! Even when our designs are complex and unique, they deliver quality results. They are also up for solving a challenge! We develop some advanced websites these days and they are able to provide advice and guidance on the best technical route to take when needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We would certainly enjoy some more face-to-face time. But working remote has not been too big of an issue, and given the current crisis it has been essential! 

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Providing 100% finalized designs is the best way we have found to ensure a project runs smoothly. The process on these projects is then almost flawless and requires very little input from us.
