Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Tanta Innovative Limited. We offer software solutions to different industries, including healthcare and oil, and also provide phone maintenance protection.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Sinon Tech?

We receive contracts from state and federal institutions, as well as private companies, and we outsource these to Sinon Tech. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve worked with them on a hospital management platform with features that make it easier to run day-to-day activities. It also has a communication and appointment component for patients and doctors. We gave them our requirements at the beginning of the engagement, and they did the entire project.

There are lots of features in the system and it eliminates the need for the current filing system in Nigeria. As a usage example, if someone had an accident and was rushed to the hospital, the doctor could put the patient’s hand on a fingerprint device to retrieve their records from any hospital across the country. A hospital can also refer a patient to another hospital through the platform. 

What is the team composition? 

I had access to just two contacts at their company: a lead programmer and the CEO.

How did you come to work with Sinon Tech?

They reached out to me on LinkedIn to market their services and see if we had any projects. As a result, I got in touch with their CEO and discussed an outsourcing partnership. They helped us with our local project, and we realized that we could use them if we wanted to sell in India, so it was a mutually-beneficial model.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost of the project was $10,000–$25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them between May–November 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project has boosted my company’s reputation and they did a very good job helping us create the platform. There are three hospitals utilizing the software, and it’s a very good product.

We gave them documents outlining exactly what we wanted them to develop and how, and they brought a lot of ideas and technologies in. These improved the platform beyond what we initially planned, so they had a great impact.

How did Sinon Tech perform from a project management standpoint?

The only issue I had was a slight delay from their side, which stemmed from a lapse in communication—they sent a report email to the wrong address, but it was rectified. Generally, we used the phone, email, and Skype.

We’re working with them on an app development project, and the communication there has been great so far, with no lapses.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They deliver every project on time, at minimal cost. We tried working with another Indian company on the same project, but they were asking for $150,000 for the work. Sinon Tech’s bill was significantly lower than that. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should bring in more resources to increase their technology and design expertise. The graphics on our platform weren’t very attractive to end users.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Maintain daily communication and follow up with what they’re doing. Ask for weekly reports for whatever’s being worked on, at every stage, in order to reduce delays and ensure that the work is being done as discussed.
