Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the co-founder of Mobile Touch Co., which develops iOS and Android applications.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Sevenstar?

We needed a technical team to provide us development services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We play the role of the middle layer between our customer and Sevenstar. We collect the requirement and do a little bit of work here in house. Then we outsource most of the work to Sevenstar. We did a native app with them from scratch for both iOS and Android. This app provides the client with an agent who can do home maintenance like plumbing, electricity and all kinds of home maintenance work.

In addition to having the requirements from us, they offer better solutions in doing the development. They introduced many tools that helped to monitor the applications after they go live.

What is the team dynamic?

They have two people for Android, two people for iOS, one person for web, and a project manager. There were five to seven people on the team.

How did you come to work with Sevenstar?

I found them on the internet.

How much have you invested with them?

$5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2016 and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app is launched in the App Store. So far, the feedback is good, with almost 5,000 users. The rating is very good in both the App stores and Google Play.

How did Sevenstar perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management was very good. They are very organized and I found them to be an experienced team. They know their work, understand the requirements and are supportive of us after we go live. They provide direct contact to the technical lead and team from the project manager. Most of the time, they are very quick in response to any issue. They do work on the weekend if there is a lot of work to do. They keep in touch with us, we communicated through Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The Apple Store approved the app the first time. This was a good achievement.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have a little bit of concern with time management. They maybe need to work more on it, but with this type of project, there is back and forth between the client and them. The delays aren’t always their fault. Some of the work perhaps could be done faster.

They need to work on the QA part. They may need to involve their QA team for testing and making sure that the issue is being resolved and not being discovered by the client.
