I’m the founder and CEO of Paybis, a cryptocurrency exchange platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Scada?

We hired Scada to design the UI/UX of our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re using Scada as our design studio. They make UI/UX designs for various products that we offer to our customers, and the typical deliverable is a design sketch delivered in Figma or other platforms. It can also be HTML-ready code. Their team mostly works on responsive web-based applications, but they’ve done some mobile app designs as well. For any project, we create technical specifications that they can design against.

They’re not involved in the development part, although providing HTML code goes a bit into that. When we design, we first do the pictures and then the HTML coding. Our development team will then be the one to implement that code. Essentially, we do design-driven development.

What is the team composition?

There are usually around four designers and a project manager working with us. Their art director gets involved when they’re about to submit the final designs.

How did you come to work with Scada?

I’d known their owner for quite some time, so we came to know of Scada through that personal connection. I also remember coming across really good designs, some of which had Scada’s name in the footer. They’re really popular in Eastern Europe, and we liked their designs, so we decided to partner with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend €10,000–€15,000 (approximately $11,000–$16,000 USD) a month for their services. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Scada 18–20 years ago, around January 2004. Our partnership has been on and off, but we’ve been more actively engaged lately. The project is growing, so we’re using their services more and more.  

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

One of the websites Scada has designed achieved increased traffic upon its release. According to Google Analytics, the site’s performance in terms of visitor and conversion rate are a lot better now. I would rate Scada perfectly on this aspect.

How did Scada perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team mostly meets deadlines. Any delays we experience are usually due to issues on our side or because some of their other projects required an additional workload. 

We use Slack to communicate, but we use different project management tools. They have Basecamp, and we use Monday.com.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The designs they create are outstanding. That has been the most impressive thing about them and the most key thing when working with a design studio. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The price could be better, and they could use a better project management tool — one that can be integrated into Slack, Monday.com, or Jira.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be sure to assign your own dedicated project manager to ensure that everything is done on time.

What challenge were you trying to address with Scada?

We needed graphic and UX/UI design assistance. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Scada has helped us develop our branding, establishing a corporate color palette. Their team has delivered site graphics that fit our branding. They've also designed our website in Figma and have completed the first round of development using HTML. Their team has also developed our backend CMS. Scada's team has also designed and developed the UX/UI for our site and client portal — we required a design that enables site visitors to understand user flows within 20 seconds. 

The website's mission is to communicate our company's services and background to users — we focus on businesses doing cross-border trading. 

What is the team composition?

I've worked with the project manager and occasionally have calls with Scada's head designer. 

How did you come to work with Scada?

I'd worked with Scada previously and knew about their successful track record. We didn't have a lot of resources to invest in web design and development, so we hired Scada because they were competitively priced. 

How much have you invested with them?

I don't have an exact number because Scada charges for work and materials, so the pricing often changes. However, I'd say we've invested £50,000–£100,000 (approximately $65,000–$130,000 USD) with Scada overall. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement with Scada began in February 2019, and it's ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our internal marketing team measures the success of our projects with Scada, and we've noticed an increase in customer inquiries and new account openings. Scada is excellent at delivering large projects over a long time — projects with them are a marathon, not a sprint. 

How did Scada perform from a project management standpoint?

Scada follows agile methodologies, but sometimes their work takes more time than we've scheduled. Although they do sometimes miss deadlines, it's because they're over-delivering — they think through each step and do whatever it takes to excel. Typically, we communicate with Scada through email and phone calls and use Jira to manage projects. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Scada can handle complex, long-term projects — they reiterate project steps until they deliver what we need. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Scada could be faster with their deliverables.

I'd advise customers to have specific ideas about their project before starting a partnership with Scada.
