How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Working with overseas designers has its challenges. The key here was to describe what was needed in detail, then allow for them to provide alternative designs and I would pick the best one. Simply asking them to create it from scratch without good instruction will result in subpar designs, but if the instructions are clear, including, in many cases, drawn wireframes, then they do their best work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have beautiful UI

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Better checks before I saw the designs. Sometimes they wouldn't follow instructions correctly. The only other issue was sometimes the work for the day was very light, didn't seem like a full day's work. Thankfully this would be corrected when it started to happen.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

Things started out well, we were happy working with them in the beginning. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the project.

It was a negative impact. However, Rondesignlab put in effort to alleviate the situation, and we do appreciate them for this.

We are happy with the fact that they reached out to attempt to resolve the issue.

They had good communication throughout the project and resolution.

In what specific areas can they improve?

Provide longer timelines, it’s better to finish a project early than extend it.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Make sure to create a timeline and confirm that your needs can be met within your budget.

We hired Ron Design Lab to develop and design our website.

What were your goals for this project?

To develop a website for our rental company that included a landing page, customer login, product pages, and cart. We also hired them to design the website, we had a few meetings to discuss our expectations (although they were not met).

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We found them online and were inspired by their Instagram (although the final product was very poor compared to the services they advertise).

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

We hired Ron Design Lab to develop and design our website. Unfortunately, it was a costly mistake that we regret to this day. After months of work, lots of miscommunications, and poor results on their behalf, we never received a final product. In fact, two weeks post our goal launch date we were forced to create a website on our own as Ron Design Lab was unable to finish the site as discussed. It was a huge disappointment working with them because not only were they not able to provide us with a working site, they also were the sole cause of our delayed launch. And even after not providing the services they promised, they refused to refund us. The minimal work they did do was very poor considering the cost of their services. When they implemented the finalized design, there were a number of bugs, and rookie mistakes (like words bleeding into photos and inconsistent section sizes). After terminating the project we have decided to work with a law firm in Ukraine to help us retrieve some of the losses from this project.

We worked with only one individual, it's unclear how many people were on his team.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Working with Ron Design Lab was by far the most costly and time-wasting mistake we made during the launch of our company. They were not able to deliver a website by our original launch date (despite communicating they would be able to), and even after postponing our launch twice more, they still did complete the website. Plus the work they did finish was not up to par with their advertised services. We were constantly sending them emails to fix bugs and design errors that were rookie mistakes.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The worst project management we experienced from all the companies we worked with during the launch. They didn't provide any updates or a timeline of their work schedule. Throughout the project we worked with only one individual who was constantly making excuses about delaying our project and who only delivered results after numerous requests and emails. It was very poorly managed, and in the end, they weren't even able to finish our project on time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The work they showcase online is very impressive and what originally inspired us to work with them. Unfortunately, the work they provided was not even comparable. It was like we hired a completely different company.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Time management, communication, fair pricing to start. But I would also recommend they update their website to showcase projects they are able to offer, as our website looked like it was created by someone with no prior experience and the design was not only outdated but an embarrassment for the price.

After Ron was chosen, he was given preliminary designs and was asked to improve upon them and continue with additional apps.

The basic UX/UI design for the project was established and a style guide was created.

We had regular status and design meetings with Ron throughout the project.

Ron was very easy and flexible to work with.

At the beginning of the project, we felt that the speed of delivery was a bit slow because we had a very tight timeline but that improved as the project progressed.

While working on a major website redesign to align our brand and messaging we engaged Ron to help with the interactions and animation to bring the design to life.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of the project was to create a sense of movement and interest in a minimal design that felt sterile and static.

We engaged Ron after interviewing a few candidates through a talent agency.

Since Ron was working with an established design the project ran smoothly. The web designer and Ron discussed the established design language and we created a series of deliverables that would document the animations and transitions to be delivered to the development team for implementation.

In this instance, we worked directly with Ron .

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project is due to be launched in the next few months, but the user testing done since the interactions were put in place have been incredibly positive and served the original goal of the project.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was efficient with frequent video chats and regular contact on slack in the early days and then moving into more regular check-ins as the deliverables were established and work ramping up.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their eye for visual composition and motion in support of the established UX was very impressive. It is not easy to bring your point of view to an established design but he was able to do so effectively and on time
