The platform has already undergone live customizations, but the source code is not synchronized with the actual front-end. The work will involve updating the code to reflect the changes made directly on the live site. Main Challenges: Review and Fix Functionalities: Ensure that all website and admin panel functionalities are working correctly. Payment Adjustment: In Mercado Pago, already integrated with PIX, Recurring Payments, and Split, enable the ability to activate and deactivate any of these options individually from the admin panel. In Stripe, change to split with custody (the direct method already exists). Performance Improvements: Reduce loading times and improve the scalability of the site. Visual Improvement and UX/UI: Restore and enhance the design to ensure a professional final appearance, aligning the layout, colors, typography, and interactivity to provide smooth and pleasant navigation for the user. Adjustments in Private Session Flow and Notifications: Improve the management of private sessions and implement payment alerts. New Paid Feature: Allow streamers to pay to boost their profiles, with site highlighting and email campaigns for all users. Important: Real-time content moderation visualization

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Unfortunately, the project had no measurable progress or success. We hired Rainstreamweb for a development project and provided all necessary information before the contract, including a detailed scope, explanatory videos, and a technical inventory of the source code. The team confirmed full understanding of the project and accepted the terms, but after gaining access to the code, they attempted to renegotiate the price without justification, claiming surprise at information that was already documented.

Additionally, the timeline was compromised, as the team spent more time trying to alter the contract scope than actually working on the agreed-upon deliverables. In the end, the project did not progress, resulting in wasted time and frustration. There were no concrete results demonstrating progress or success.

Rainstreamweb's project management was disorganized and unprofessional. From the beginning, it was clear that there was no structured plan to meet the established deadlines. Instead of focusing on delivering the work, the team spent most of their time trying to renegotiate the contract terms after they had already accepted the conditions.

No deliverables were completed on time, as the team delayed the start of the work with unfounded excuses and attempts to manipulate the scope. Additionally, when asked about deadlines and project progress, their responses were evasive and did not provide concrete solutions.

Regarding our needs, they did not respond efficiently. Even though they received all technical information and confirmed their understanding before starting the work, they repeatedly claimed surprise at details that had already been discussed. In the end, the project did not progress, and our time was wasted.

Unfortunately, nothing about this company was impressive or unique in a positive way. Despite initial promises and confident communication, their actions contradicted their words. What stood out the most was the attempt to renegotiate the project terms after gaining access to our source code—something that reflects poor ethics and lack of professionalism rather than any impressive quality.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Rainstreamweb could have done differently?

Yes, there are several areas that need improvement. First and foremost, Rainstreamweb should honor the agreements they accept and avoid attempting to renegotiate after gaining access to sensitive materials like source code. Clear and consistent communication throughout the project is essential, and their approach lacked both transparency and accountability.

They should also improve their internal organization and project planning, as no deliverables were made within the expected timeline. Finally, professionalism and ethical conduct need to be reinforced within their team if they want to build long-term client trust

In this case, the client was impatient and pressured us to accept the project immediately. However, as part of our due diligence, we identified several hidden tasks that could extend the timeline. When we informed them, they became aggressive, revoked the project, and resorted to posting misleading reviews.

Rainstreamweb had first to inspect the API in detail to ensure it could do what we needed. They offered advice and started development immediately after we'd decided on the approach. The project was delivered exactly how we'd asked and without any further involvement from our side. Snagging was carried out and within 2 days we had those resolved and the final solution live.

Originally, we wanted to develop a full stack SaaS application.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve been working with Rainstreamweb for close to 10 years now. First, they developed the SaaS product we needed. For this project, we initially defined what we needed to get done. After we locked in the requirements, we started a very iterative process based on sprint cycles to get the development work done. 

Once everything worked the way we wanted it to, we released and retested the product. Rainstreamweb also developed our marketing site, which we requested to be responsive, and they handled various integrations to get the app up and running and make it profitable. Among the technology stack and integrations used for our platform are AWS and Twilio.

Since then, Rainstreamweb has made a lot of updates and integrations. For example, they’ve developed an API for us to deliver our product, as well as a multi-channel customer service backend where our agents can manage services for clients.

In addition to those development projects, Rainstreamweb acts as our primary product management partner. They help keep our services up to date and provide support on an ongoing basis.

Our product is a customer services platform that allows small and mid-sized businesses to have large-call-center levels of performance on a monthly basis at an affordable price.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with around 12 different resources from Rainstreamweb — including Mehul (CEO) — three of which I’ve worked with hand in hand. This has been one of the best things about working with them; once we get assigned a project lead, this person handles the daily interactions and keeps the project running.

How did you come to work with Rainstreamweb?

I had done some other work with another vendor in the past, and Mehul was on that team, so he and I developed a good working relationship. When I launched my company, we launched an RFP, looking for different vendors to develop our product. At the time, Mehul was also launching his own development company, so I included him in the RFP process. Out of the 12 vendors we vetted, we ended up choosing Rainstreamweb.

We’ve spent close to $90,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around September 2013, and our engagement is ongoing. The last project we did together was at the beginning of 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We had zero clients when we started this company, but thanks to the product developed by Rainstreamweb, we’ve been in business for ten years. Building a product from scratch that has become the core of our business is the biggest success metric we can share. When we started this project, we applied for a patent, and we were able to achieve that patent thanks to their great work.

In the last nine years, the volume of traffic on our site has either doubled or tripled every year. This demonstrates that Rainstreamweb built our product to scale from day one, and we’ve been successful in doing so. Furthermore, we’ve been able to achieve those results with very few changes along the way, only making small tweaks here and there.

We’ve worked with other providers over the years, but we keep coming back to Rainstreamweb because they do what they promise, and they’re very talented. When working with these other companies, products always had issues when launched. However, Rainstreamweb constantly tests and stresses the features we want to roll out before doing so. If they break the product, they fix it really quickly; that’s how they ensure to launch things that work.

How did Rainstreamweb perform from a project management standpoint?

Working with Rainstreamweb is a very simple process, so we enjoy our partnership. They’re very easy to communicate with, making it pleasurable to do business with them. I’m able to explain what I’m looking for in plain English, and they understand very clearly, which doesn’t often happen with other offshore companies.

They’re also very consistent with budget, and the value we get from them is significant thanks to their fair prices. After working with them for many years, it is very easy for me to know their cost structure in advance to be able to plan our budget.

Throughout our engagement, there have only been two occasions where we had misunderstandings about scope. On one occasion, it was completely on me, and on the other one, it was on them. On that occasion, they made it right and deducted the cost of it. 

Furthermore, a close working relationship was what I was looking for. Working with Rainstreamweb means working directly with a project manager who can take what I’m looking for and translate it into something meaningful from a technical perspective.

Our development work is based on an agile methodology. Initially, we used a waterfall framework but very quickly realized that we would perform better on an agile framework. We use Asana to manage projects, and they use Jira internally. Additionally, We’ve collaborated on Bugsnag for a couple of things.

Regarding communication, the channel depends on the time of the day due to the different time zones. We usually follow up over Skype after assigning tasks on Asana, but I can always text them if there’s an emergency. Another great thing about Rainstreamweb is that they’re always available. We’ve had issues at two in the morning in India on a Saturday night, and we’ve always reached out and found someone available.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Rainstreamweb is trustworthy and reliable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really, although it would be amazing if they moved their company to Los Angeles for us to be in the same time zone.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a clear idea in advance of what you want out of your project and understand the possibilities; it will make the entire process easier. They’re very knowledgeable, so based on your idea, they can recommend different ways to do what you want using best practices. I trust their opinion, which has resulted in cost savings and better products.
