I recently joined an Engineering Consultancy company and am acting in the capacity of HR and IT Manager.

For what projects/services did your company hire Original Intelligence Sdn Bhd?

We are hiring Original Intelligence (OI) to assist us in the following improvement activities of the company with regards to our Human Resource areas:

Implementation of an end to end HR solution not restricting to only personnel information and payroll, but also in the area of project tracking via the timesheeet and door access application provided and support by OI

What were your goals for this engagement?

Our goals from this engagement is to be able to have an end to end solution from HRMIS perspective, which to us is not only for payroll, but be able to understand our team / people needs in training, etc.

Also from this solution, we hope to be able to deploy and project our team with the relevant experience to gain relevant experience to achieve their goal as professional engineers and obtain the relevant certification and to track their relevant PD point for their recertification amongst some of the objective of this implementation

How did you select Original Intelligence Sdn Bhd?

We selected OI via recommendations from our Directors.

Describe the engagement in detail.

The current engagement is for OI to assist us in the following: 1. Provided us with an end to end solution for HRMIS that includes the following:

• Employee Data
• Employee payroll with the required statutory reporting and banking interface.
• Tracking of time spent on projects via timesheet application to better manage our projects
• Tracking of our employees training and experience in order for them to be able to sit for their professional engineers certification
• Monitoring their practice development requirements to be able to maintain their professional certification

What was the team composition?

The team is a small team with the assignment being carried out by OI and for our organisation to provide the data to operate the solution. to date we only have 2 person from our site as we are a Mid size organisation with about 90 staff.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

So far, we the project is still ongoing and we have now just completed the implementation of the door access and personnel master data. We will be progressing to the other components of payroll as the next area of implementation.

We are taking this in stages so that we can ensure that the solution provided is able to handle our organisation staff requirements

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Most of our communication and work discussion is done either face to face or via whatsapps other than using meeting of minutes to confirm all discussion and decisions on this project.

What did you find most impressive about this vendor?

The Director, Mr Ng has personally attended to all our discussions to understand our challenges and needs. He has also been able to customise and recommend to us adequate solutions to meet our needs.

Are there any areas for improvement?

For now, as i work through the software / application solution, like all other solutions there is always areas of improvements. As always OI has listen to my suggestions and made the necessary changes to meet the unique requirement for their solution to fit my organisations needs.

We needed someone to develop our attendance tracking system.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Original Intelligence Sdn Bhd developed our attendance tracking system to capture our agents, live planners, and training attendants when they attend our class.

It’s used to capture their sign-in and sign-out times in order to confirm that they actually completed the training. We then record the attendance and assign them points. The team also helps us with support and maintenance. We enhance the application yearly.

We work with three teammates.

I knew them in the past when we developed a similar application.

We started working together in August 2016, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Original Intelligence Sdn Bhd is reliable and their level of support is great. Whenever there are any change requests or enhancements, they give us the proposal and their price is reasonable.

Prior to this product, things were being tracked manually. They’d sign-in and sign-out using paper. With this application, by using their ID card, we can prove if they are the ones who signed up for the training.

How did Original Intelligence Sdn Bhd perform from a project management standpoint?

The team is quite organized. They manage their time well and deliver on time. They’re reliable, and their turnaround time is quite fast. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Original Intelligence Sdn Bhd is much better than other vendors we’ve worked with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’m happy with their service.
