With our staff acting as product management/owner we collaborated to develop sprint plans. Their team provided development services from definition of a core technical architecture, wireframes/UI/UX, and back end. They also set up an maintained our application infrastructure on AWS.

I have worked with many offshore firms, and Oodles has been unique in their ability to add value through suggestions, ideas, demonstrations of alternative capabilities or features. This is in contrast to a conventional "order-taker" way of working. Their input and feedback was often informative and included in final delivery.

There were a handful of issues surrounding replacement of key contributors. Oodles adapted well, but at times it created an additional burden to adjust to different work styles, etc.

It greatly varied based on the resource assigned: some were very good, some less. Project managers can only do so much when the devil is in tiny code details. You need to keep a good technical eye on developer's progress and test the artifacts properly on your own if you want to make sure verify they have implemented things according to requirements and considered the edge cases in depth. 

You need to give clear requirements but, even so, some individuals will hear them and some won't. I have been a project manager myself: not all resources are the same and PM's can only do so much with a bad dev.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

All the individuals I interacted with were genuine, honest, and dedicated individuals who strive to give their best.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Oodles Technologies could have done differently?

Quality of developers varied greatly over almost threee years (with ups and downs and other ups) depending on the period. They were proactive in changing those that didn't work - but a bit of time was still wasted. 

I do understand hiring is hard and not all devs are rockstars either. Also they need to improve how they work on customers code: I want to see the code before it ships, not afterwards. This was not an issue in the past, but it became increasingly challenging due to changes in their internal processes.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I closely followed their work each day because I wanted to give immediate feedback regarding their design since we were working from different perspectives and I wanted to make sure that we were going in the right direction.

Each day, I would check and I would realize that they were never close to what my designs entailed. I would call this to their attention and instead of changing the design, they would get frustrated and angry. They were upset that I would critique their work. We persisted for 3 days, a total of 24 hours of work and I had to cease the work.

This had eaten into over 1/2 of the $670 that I paid upfront. They would not change nor edit their work. The only option that they would give me was to continue with their current design. I ceased the work and after 5 months I have still not been refunded the difference.

Gaurav is very slow to respond, not willing to change the design for the customer. It is either his way or there is no way.

We have a team that create social media postings, handle our google ads account so that we are advertising appropriately within the budget set daily, we discuss posts and very day and we have a calendar we follow, however that can change if I decide to post something different to what we have in the queue to post. The team also helps with the SEO of our website so that we have more organic customers visiting our sites and getting to know more about our store. We communicate daily and resolve issues around these deliverables

We have a content creator for the SEO, we have a creative designer who handles posts and other picture or design related issues, we have a team lead who is responsible for handling the team and I communicate with him daily. We have certainly had an improvement on how customers interact with us on social media especially Instagram because our page looks more professional with daily posts and I love how the team is dynamic as we have been able to handle problems we faced with our website and our google ads account. The team has been very helpful in resolving issues and we have seen an increase in customers visiting our new site. We are still at the early stages so there is a lot more work to be done but it has been fantastic so far

The workflow is very effective; the manager promptly informs me on our Skype group if there will be any changes to the calendar or when something happens. I get quick responses when I send messages and they are steady with sending me what I need whenever I ask

We were looking for a company that could create quality content in English, and that had experience in SEO positioning, and other online marketing activities, and thus be able to give a better product and results to our clients. Communication with the Oodles Technologies team has been frequent, using tools such as Skype, Google Docs, and email. Every day we received a report of the activities carried out, blog articles created, and external links (backlinks) created, as well as statistical analyzes.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The detailed analysis of our local activity, bearing in mind that our clients live on an island in Spain, more than 10,000 km from India, and they have been able to study in detail our geography, climate, and customs to be able to elaborate all the contents that had than publish on the web and social media channels.

We engaged Oodles Technologies to deliver a full Odoo 18 ERP implementation for our e-commerce Business. The project was scoped as a two-month engagement at a total cost of $20,000, paid across 10 milestones through Upwork.

The scope covered three core modules:

1. Accounting and Financial Management Oodles was responsible for configuring a custom Chart of Accounts aligned to our Software Requirements Specification (SRS), setting up multi-currency support, implementing bank integrations, configuring Amazon transaction mapping (including fees, refunds, and settlements), building financial reporting (Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss), and enabling manual journal entries with proper drill-down to source documents. The system needed to support our operational accounting workflows including vendor advances, prepayments, and write-offs.

2. Supply Chain and Procurement This included purchase order creation and management, a multi-step procurement workflow with sequential payment gates (30-50-20 payment terms that enforce validation before stock transfer), supplier and forwarder RFQ management, landed cost calculations (freight, duties, agent commissions, QC costs), task automation tied to purchase orders, email notifications to suppliers and forwarders, and a Multiple Shipment Activity Log for tracking documents.

3. Inventory and Warehouse Management This covered inventory valuation, stock transfers, warehouse receiving workflows, and integration with Odoo's native inventory triggers and stock valuation engine.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

There were none. After five months and $20,000 in milestone payments, we could not identify a single module that was production-ready.

Here are the measurable outcomes we actually tracked:

1. Balance Sheet accuracy: Failed. The Balance Sheet never balanced at any point during the engagement. By March, Profit and Loss line items were appearing inside the Balance Sheet. Our Finance Controller stated it was "not even meeting the basic standards expected from accounting software."
   Milestone timeline: Failed. The project was scoped for two months (October to December 2025). It extended to five months (terminated March 2026) with no functional output. Every deadline the PM set was missed.
2. Staffing commitment: Failed. We were promised two senior developers and one QA with 3+ years of Odoo experience. We received one junior developer with less than a year of experience who was asking basic discovery questions in month four.
3. Testing pass rate: Failed. Our team conducted 300+ hours of user acceptance testing. Every single build cycle followed the same pattern: PM claims "ready," our team tests, our team finds critical failures. This loop repeated from December through March without a single clean pass.
4. Supply chain module: Five critical failures on the final staging build, including tasks not being created, emails not being sent, QC bills not generating, and payment terms not enforcing.
5. Code quality: Failed. A code review revealed they had built a non-standard parallel inventory system that bypassed Odoo's core triggers. They scrapped it in February (month four) and started over. In March, their developer admitted that configuring the Chart of Accounts "breaks the core of Odoo."
6. Data integrity: Failed. Posted journal entries disappeared between testing sessions. Account categories that worked one day were inaccessible the next.

The only measurable outcome from this project was a $20,000 loss and the realization that our internal team could rebuild more in two weeks than Oodles delivered in five months.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Their project management was the single most frustrating aspect of this engagement. It was defined by a repeating cycle of false "ready" claims, deflection, and zero accountability.

Nothing was delivered on time. The entire project was scoped for two months (October to December 2025). It ran for five months and was terminated in March 2026 with no functional deliverables. Not a single milestone was delivered when promised.

The "It's Ready" loop. Their PM, Pranav, repeatedly claimed the system was complete or nearly complete, and every single claim was disproven by our team's testing within hours:

December 9: Developer claims Chart of Accounts is "completed." Our finance team immediately finds accounts missing from the SRS. We asked if their QA was "sleeping."
January 29: Agency pushes for UAT Readiness payment, claiming 95% functionality. Our Finance Controller pointed out that a Balance Sheet that doesn't balance is not 95% functional. Payment refused.
February 20: PM claims "Almost done. Just doing final round of testing." The system crashed during testing. Basic requirements were still unknown to their team.
March 2: PM claims "It's ready from our end." When asked if everything was tested: "Yes." I then had to personally explain sequential payment gate logic to the PM because he thought our workflow steps were "conflicting" when they were simply sequential.
March 9: PM claims "Just the Tasks" are left. Payment terms were still broken. Emails were still broken. Dozens of issues were outstanding.
March 18: PM claims "Most of them have been catered." Our COO asks "We thought it's been catered and updated already?" PM responds: "Catered but not updated." That is not a meaningful distinction. Issues are either fixed or they are not.
Deflection instead of ownership. When issues were raised, the PM's responses followed a pattern: blame our internet for server slowdowns (investigation revealed poor server configuration on their end), attempt to reclassify unfinished Sprint 1 requirements as "change requests" to avoid accountability for delays (our COO blocked this), question why we were using AI tools to review their code instead of addressing the issues found, and suggest "walkthroughs" instead of fixing bugs.

Lack of process. There was no proper discovery phase, no requirements validation before building, and no QA process that caught anything before our team did. Their developer was asking basic discovery questions ("How you're doing this as of now?") about core business processes in month four of a two-month project. When our team asked them for expert guidance ("What is your advice on allocating and calculating these costs in the system? You are the experts"), the response was another question back to us.

Suppression of evidence. After we terminated the project, they revoked our access to all meeting recordings, meeting notes, and shared Google Drive folders. These recordings contained evidence of failed demos and verbal commitments that contradicted their written claims. A confident project team does not suppress the project record.

Their project management did not manage the project. It managed our expectations downward while delivering nothing.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive thing about Oodles Technologies is their ability to claim a system is "ready" with absolute confidence while the system is fundamentally broken. This happened six documented times between December and March. Every single time, our team disproved the claim within hours of testing. And every single time, the PM came back days later with the same claim again as if the previous failure never happened. That level of persistence in misrepresentation is genuinely unique.

The second most impressive thing is their payment pressure strategy. In January, they pushed for a "UAT Readiness" milestone payment while claiming 95% functionality. Our Finance Controller had to point out that a Balance Sheet that doesn't balance cannot be called 95% functional. They were attempting to collect payment for a deliverable that did not meet the most basic standard of the module it was supposed to deliver. When we refused to pay, they continued pressuring across multiple messages instead of fixing the issues that caused us to refuse in the first place.

What stands out is that the energy they put into claiming readiness and pressuring for payment always exceeded the energy they put into actually fixing the problems. That is the defining characteristic of this engagement.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Oodles Technologies could have done differently?

They could have actually delivered what they were paid to deliver. That would have been a good start.

Beyond that, three things would have changed the outcome of this project entirely:

1. Staff the project honestly. They sold us two senior developers and one QA engineer with 3+ years of Odoo 18 experience. They gave us a junior developer with less than a year of experience. If they had staffed the project with the team they promised, the technical failures may never have happened. At minimum, they should have disclosed the actual experience level of the people writing our code instead of letting us discover it through months of failed deliverables.

2. Take ownership of failures instead of deflecting. Every time our team identified a problem, the response was never "we made a mistake, here is how we are fixing it." It was always something else. Server slowdowns were blamed on our internet (it was their server configuration). Unfinished Sprint 1 requirements were reclassified as "change requests" to avoid accountability. Basic architectural mistakes were framed as "iterative development." Questions about code quality were met with questions about why we were reviewing their code. A single instance of honest accountability at any point in this engagement would have built trust. Instead, every interaction eroded it further.

3. Stop claiming things are ready when they are not. If the PM had simply been honest about the state of the system at any point, we could have made informed decisions about the project's direction. Instead, we were told "ready" six times, tested six times, and found critical failures six times. That pattern wasted hundreds of hours of our team's time and delayed the decision to terminate by months.

The core issue is simple: they sold expertise they did not have, and when that became apparent, they chose deflection over accountability at every turn.

Bulk Email and Whatsapp sending tool. Customised templates are there. It has a procedure to send reminders also. We can track completed, opened or bounced dynamically. Different campaigns can be created very easily

• We are able to make such a bulk email and whatsapp tool and having all the required features.

They deliver mostly on time committed however there were many times quality issues and because of that again rework was required. If they do rework because of their own mistakes still they used to charge us and that was the main issue.

Project management was good.

Yes as i discussed earlier main thing is to work more on quality deliverables and as we all are human and can mistakes. So, if we are making mistakes so we should not charge our clients.
