RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Octal IT Solution showed me several aspects of the platform's visual features, and I gave them my feedback. However, they haven't delivered on any of the promises and have only asked for additional costs.

How did Octal IT Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

They deceive you, they send you a srs and then subtly change it to ask you for more money.

What did you find most impressive or unique about them?

They seem like a serious company, but then when you ask for results, they're all deceptive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Octal IT Solution could have listened to my feedback instead of manipulating the SRS.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I don't recommend working with Octal IT Solution. We hired them to develop a digital editorial platform with a defined scope outlined in an SRS document. The final payment was conditional on delivering 100% of the platform, and we're still waiting for them to complete it. Our experience has been very negative, and we wouldn't hire them again.During the project, we noticed discrepancies between versions of the SRS. They omitted or downgraded requirements subtly without a clear change control process validated by us. This affected the actual scope of the delivery.When we requested functionalities we thought were included in the initial SRS, they were often treated as additional work. A clear example was a panel/module for advertising, which ended up being an extra that cost €3,000 (approximately $3,200 USD). This approach created a situation where they reduced the scope and then asked for more money to recover functionalities.As of the closing date, there were still basic aspects missing or malfunctioning, such as basic statistics (minimum metrics needed to manage an editorial platform) and duplicate content loading, which caused confusion and double work.We asked for a checklist to close the project objectively, but they refused to complete it or respond point by point. Additionally, we've been waiting for a formal presentation and validation of the platform for about four months. The team hasn't shown progress continuously, and when they present something that doesn't fit, they tell us we must pay to adjust it.

I'm the CEO of Finding Trusted Care and launching a new and exciting venture. We are seeking to serve families with special needs loved ones and connecting them to credentialed caregivers.

Finding Trusted Care sought Octal for their innovative team to create a platform and application to launch our company.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

After reading about several IT solution teams, Octal offered the most comprehensive package to support our needs.

From creation of the application to the website design and function Octal has supported all of the needs of each.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There are 8 people on project management tool, and I’m usually in communication with 7–8 people from Octal. The business analyst is my main contact, and I talk to the developers when needed and project manager when required.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I had no app launched in the App Store and play store as we are doing beta testing. It usually works bug-free, and when there is a bug, the user usually won’t notice it. Those are in the lines of a wrong icon or a wrong image size — things that I’ll catch. Octal works on bug fixing really fast, and they ensure that things are going well. If there’s an issue, they start working on it instantly. Octal is really supportive, fast, and helpful in this area.

We’ll always face issues during the development process. Working with a bigger company like Octal makes it more likely to find solutions for those issues. We’re still in the finalization process, so we’ve only run small advertisements for the app. I’ve received specific feedback on it, which means they’re really working with the app

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We’re using Trello and Skype. Their project manager and business analyst is doing an excellent job, and it’s easy to follow all the tasks and issues. I test new builds in TestFlight and write my feedback in Trello. Then, Octal starts working on that feedback. Once everything is finished, the issue ticket is closed. The system is professional and easy to understand, even for someone new in the business.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They’re very straightforward and honest. Rather than looking for payable hours, they strive to deliver a good product to the client. It’s very important for me that the people involved are really putting their hearts into the product, and this is the case with Octal team. I can see this in the feedback they give me. They’ve recommended things that saved me money and made the product better.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The team has been great and very responsive.
