As a religious organization, we needed a website that represented our beliefs.

Made in Earth initially created designs for the website. Their team was responsible for building it from scratch.

How did you come to work with Made in Earth?

We found Made in Earth through an advertisement.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent almost $45,000 on Made in Earth’s services.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project began around April 2020. Made in Earth said the project would be done around February 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

For 7–8 months, we had a good relationship. We’re now very disappointed. They nearly finished a great website design and then requested more money for the project. As we trusted them, we sent the money. Their team then disappeared. We haven’t heard from Made in Earth in three months, and they didn’t finish the website.

How did Made in Earth perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m not even sure Made in Earth still exists. They closed all of their accounts, and I haven't heard from them in months.

What did you find most impressive about them?

In the beginning, they tried to earn our trust. We paid them but then didn’t receive a website. They stole from us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Don’t ask for money and then not deliver results.

I’m the founder of The Center of Traditional Taoist Studies. We’re a church in the Boston area and have been around for the last 43 years. We do online web seminars, teachings, and life coaching.

What challenge were you trying to address with Made in Earth?

We were looking for someone to develop our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Made in Earth developed our website from scratch. They also handled advertising for the platform and our seminars. Their team had to put a lot of content on the site. It presents information about our teaching, masters, and about the books that I have written.

What is the team composition?

I had one main contact. He had a few designers and other people on the team.

How did you come to work with Made in Earth?

I saw their work after they were recommended to me by a friend, and I was very impressed. My secretary called and said the engagement sounded good, so we decided to try them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from December 2018—June 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything was excellent. It’s very rare to order something and get what we want. Our seminars, teaching, and life coaching are like a tree with a lot of branches, so the work was quite complex. However, Made in Earth did a fantastic job with it. It was good and reliable. The work on our website was not easy.

There were problems along the way, but they solved them very quickly. Made in Earth is very reliable, which was the most important factor. Even after the project was done, they took care of any issues we had. They stand behind their product. We can communicate with them, and they understand our needs.

How did Made in Earth perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything was on time. My main contact was very sharp when it came to understanding our problems. I didn’t have to explain what we needed to him, and he grasped the idea very quickly. They’re very responsive and when we’d call, they’d call us back immediately which is quite unusual nowadays. I was very happy with their work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

With other companies that we tried, communication was hard. They didn’t return phone calls and the work cost more money. They sent us samples that looked awful and primitive in comparison to what Made in Earth did.

Made in Earth was very quick to fix any issues that came up, which we found impressive. They were also on time. Whenever they said something would be done, it was done within that timeframe.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything. Like any other designer, they’re pretty busy with other projects. Wherever there were problems, they solved it.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be precise with questions and be clear about what you want. They will listen and help you.
