Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder, CEO, ad editor-in-chief of Fair Observer, a nonprofit media organization in the world news space. We have 2,700+ writers from 90 countries.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Netleon Technologies?

We needed a website developed that would be our window to the world.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Netleon Technologies developed our website and mobile app. We gave them specifications for the site. We wanted it to be readable and look like the top comparable news sites in the world.  We gave them a bunch of specs on color, font, etc. 

The app is a news app. We wanted the app to be like The Economist. You can read, save, and share articles. The app is in the process of being launched for iOS and Android. It’s ready and we’re in the testing phase.

What is the team composition?

We work with 5-10 people on their team. The key project manager for us was Lokendra (Project Manager) who was great.

How did you come to work with Netleon Technologies?

Someone who was working for Google recommended them to us. We talked to a number of people and shortlisted to 5-6 people before choosing them. We chose Netleon Technologies because they seemed to know their job and the cost was much cheaper than anyone else.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2013 and it's ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of their work is very high. They incorporated all the features we asked them to. The website and app are both aesthetically-pleasing. Our readers find sharing to be easier. People tell me it’s much easier to read on the mobile and that the design is very clean. On the whole, people are extremely complimentary.

They’re very hardworking and reliable. I’m very happy with them. There are further tweaks we’ll be working on them with Netleon Technologies. 

How did Netleon Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We have no complaints regarding project management. Netleon Technologies listens to instructions and sticks to timelines. They’re very receptive and responsive. We communicate via email and Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very sincere and hardworking.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’ve been improving their communication in the way they write emails and messages. Sometimes they’re very brief and that’s because English is a second language. They’ve taken feedback and have improved a lot since the early days.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a good introductory meeting and really lay out what you want. Be very specific in what you want. That way, both parties will have greater trust.
