I’m the project manager at Featherdown. We provide “glamping” campsites, which are luxury camping locations across the UK. We provide a tent, furniture, and the booking accommodations for the trip.

What challenge were you trying to address with JSK Technolab?

We needed help in developing our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

JSK Technolab developed the web platform on WordPress using Yii PHP framework and MySQL. They integrated a payment API and an availability management tool to tweak future prices. Their developers created a booking engine on the site for users. Their team also developed our Magento-based warehouse website. They launched the site but are continuously improving and redesigning the platform.

The owner of JSK Technolab serves as the main developer, and there are 2–3 additional developers working on the project.

How did you come to work with JSK Technolab?

The owner of JSK Technolab worked with us before starting his own company, so we knew he was knowledgeable about our architecture and programming needs.

We’ve spent $20,000, so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working on the project in February 2018 and the work is ongoing.

The quality of the work they’ve produced has helped our business—we’re pleased with the results so far.

How did JSK Technolab perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate through Skype and use Jira to track the project. During development, they use an agile methodology and we prioritize the work we need from them. We use a ticket system to assign them tasks, agree on a deadline, and create a solid estimate, accounting for 30% extra in the budget. They meet our deadlines—typically, only my side is in danger of falling behind because of added work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re experienced in working with European companies and have visited our office, which we appreciate. They understand what we want to achieve better than other companies I’ve worked with. They take the time needed to get us to our goals.
