They have done a very good job so far. There couldn’t be anything they would have done differently. At times, they try to factor in all possibilities which can be handled in subsequent releases. Due to GTM pressures sometimes we had to ask them to make modifications to the current sprint although they were planned to ensure a robust system with future possibilities in mind.

The scope of work was divided up into various sprints based on the modules that we needed to develop in the WebApp. Initially, the team was focused on the Volunteer experience so a large amount of time was spent designing the volunteer experience and mobile apps. We were able to leverage new feature enhancements that allowed us to integrate push notifications so we could communicate with our volunteers easier.

As we transitioned into the development of other key modules the focus turned to define business processes so that we could work smarter and more efficiently using the apps being created.

The project was coordinated by Dr. Jordi Ochando, at the Spanish Society for Immunology, together with Dr. Manisha Brahmachary, bioinformatician at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and Lionel Jouffe, cofounder and CEO of Bayesia.

This app has been made available to help differentiate the symptoms between common cold, flu and COVID-19. The results are not a diagnostic test but only an orientation and do not replace professional medical advice

Bayesian networks are recognized as powerful tools for risk analysis and decision support and have become a popular model for clinical decision support systems (CDSS). Their importance in the care setting is due to their ability to:

The growing number of SASR-CoV-2 infections has led to an urgent need to expand monitoring and follow-up activities to control the epidemiology of the virus and characterize its potential impact. The infection capacity of SASR-CoV-2 poses an unprecedented challenge for early detection of symptoms associated with cold, influenza and COVID-19.

Thus, there is a need for an adaptive platform of real-time data analysis covering the spectrum of subclinical and acute presentations of cold, influenza and COVID-19 for early detection and differentiation of disease through symptoms.

Addressing this priority will enable more accurate estimates of the incidence of these diseases, inform risk mitigation strategies, more effectively allocate testing resources, and enable appropriate quarantine and treatment of those affected.

Work out the specification on your side as much as possible and be clear about what you want to have. Don’t expect them to know what you’re thinking in your head. You need to understand the culture of the vendor.
