I contracted Maplebrains to develop a mobile app and website to support users' mental health. Along the process, Maplebrains representative offered to manage digital marketing of the products at an additional cost.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project is never finished and as of now, I truly believe MapleBrains has no ability or interest to complete the project that was due in June of 2022. 

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

No. The contract was signed in March of 2022 with the target completion within 70 working days. The 70 working days would have fallen in June of 2022. The project was not finished even after full payments were made. I pushed and they rushed out a non-functional version that was nothing close to what we had discussed at the time the contract was signed. 
I rejected the non-functional version. MapleBrains claimed they would make it right. This was August of 2022. It's been over two years, and still no app. They had missed many deadlines and continued to provide lies and excuses to get more money from me. This company has been demonstrating repeated patterns of fraudulent practice.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The CEO will sweet talk you into putting more money into the project MapleBrains does not intend to complete. The excuses are outrageous and impressive. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Maplebrains Technologies Inc could have done differently?

Boy, how much space do we have here. I'll stick to the basics.

1. MapleBrains lacks good communication etiquette. They have been ghosting me for the past month when I asked for updates about the app. 
2. MapleBrains does not honor deadlines. MapleBrains came up with many deadlines. They promised certain things would happen in a certain timeframe.  They managed to miss all of the deadlines and broke every single promise. 
3. MapleBrains lacks transparency. The poor communication and missed deadlines make me feel certain MapleBrains is hiding something. I can never get a straight answer why the project takes so long to move forward. The last two excuses from the CEO were there were long holidays in India where the developers work. I get it, long holidays happen, but it should not last over a month. And this is not the first time lame excuses were made to explain why nothing is being done to move the project forward. Other excuses include flooding, power outages, etc. 
4. MapleBrains sold me digital marketing scheme while the app was being developed. I foolishly bought into it because the CEO promised the app would be published in the stores at the same time. The app never got completed and never made it to the app stores. He took my money for the marketing, however. I asked for full refund as there was no product to market. I have not seen a cent of the refund.

The decision was between doing it internally or hiring them. After they demonstrated their capabilities and the much shorter time frame, it was a no brainer to get them to build it for us.

We had a series of discovery meetings where the UI was shown to us for feedback, then once all approved it moved forward and we tested the apps before the deployments to app stores. The website and apps work together which is extremely helpful in terms of making immediate changes.

What was the team composition?

Initially it was only a few in the office, but now they are more than 7. It's great to see that they are expanding.

The Apps have been out for more than 6 months now and we have received many positive comments as well as some 5-star reviews.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow has been extremely effective. They are always on time and available if I need support.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to answer support requests so fast. Emails are responded to within the same hour, even at 5 am.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Everything could always be done faster, however that could risk quality. I believe they have a very good process now and should continue to do small improvements to continue getting better.

We were very pleased with our website that was created by Maplebrains Technologies. They created a site that really represented who we are as a firm and they were very helpful throughout the entire process.

We were treated in a professional manner at all times and they would reply to all of my requests within the same or next business day which is really hard to find. I would highly recommend this company.

The worked on our application. It contains two main modules: for the customer and for the service provider. The customer app offers daily user services like beauty, errands, health and wellness, interior design, and events planning, with several advanced options. The service provider app offers vendors a way to easily earn money, providing specified services to the customers.
