BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a lead planner and the owner of a mortgage brokerage firm working with mainly residential and some commercial clients. We have offices in Kitchener and Waterloo, Ontario, and we service the region. Our firm includes 8 agents and 1 employee. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Local SEO Search?

I wanted to create a strong online presence following a changeover from print marketing. I have been in this business for a long time and was probably an early customer of Local SEO Search, although I did have a website prior to collaborating with them. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We wanted to increase the amount of traffic we received for certain keywords. Over the last 3 years, we’ve seen improvements for the top keywords we address. Local SEO Search has given me a strong presence in the local market.

We have a collaborative research process, but my office manager was involved more in what we picked and changed. We’ve pretty much stuck to the same words, mainly because I find that changing them isn’t helpful. I don’t know a lot about SEO, but we’re seeing traffic for the money we’re paying. Local SEO Search hasn’t worked on our blog.

How did you come to work with Local SEO Search?

I was using a different company at the time, but they weren’t really achieving what I needed. John, Local SEO Search’s founder, was my Yellow Pages rep for a time. I believe that he let me know he was starting the company, so I gave them a try. I wouldn’t have stayed with Local SEO Search if the engagement didn’t work from the first year.

How much have you invested with Local SEO Search?

The cost of their work has at least $13,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Local SEO Search around January 2014. The collaboration is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?

I don’t have stats, but I do receive reports that show our site within the top 3 positions for all of the keywords we target.

How did Local SEO Search perform from a project management standpoint?

We have discussions once a year about upcoming plans, but there’s no actual project collaboration in place. Local SEO Search is fast to respond if we have any questions. We communicate over email and phone most of the time, but John also has visited us in person.

What did you find most impressive about Local SEO Search?

I’m mainly interested in getting results. I don’t talk to the team or maintain any kind of connection on a daily basis.

Are there any areas Local SEO Search could improve?

I’d appreciate knowing in more detail what they’re doing a monthly basis. I don’t really understand what’s going on as far as the specifics, but Local SEO Search’s team does achieve good results.
