They basically designed our website from the ground up and made sure all of the products we sell were listed properly. They set up a Facebook account for the business and periodically write articles to improve the SEO. These articles provide information on our company and help people maintain their vehicles. The keyword research process was fairly collaborative. They explained to me generally how SEO works and then I came up with 30 keywords to best accomplish that. They brought back results and we eliminated or changed keywords that received no hits until we had 15 that were effective.

So much so, we don’t plan on renewing our contract with the Yellow Pages in the near future.

We wanted to advertise. I had been using Bell and the Yellow Pages for a long time and I wasn’t happy with them. John [Founder, Local SEO Search] came to our rescue. I wanted him to expand our web presence.

What was the scope of their involvement?
John does SEO, blog content, social media management, website consulting, and video creation for us.
He showed us some statistics and helped us think through our SEO strategy. He used to work for Bell, so he had some background knowledge of the business and we could understand each other. He explained how people perceive the terms we use. For instance, plumbing is usually above ground and drainage is below ground. But customers who need drain work think of calling a plumber, not a drain service. He guided us through different keyword combinations to address what people would actually be searching for.
He makes suggestions and implements changes to our website, social media, and blog to keep them running well. He’s made lots of changes to our website especially. He added pictures, helped us fill out our service offerings with more detail, and added pages. He suggested we add content to help customers troubleshoot their own plumbing issues before they call, like jiggling the handle with the lid off for a running toilet. I know our customers appreciate it, but I hadn’t thought of adding that before.
He’s given us many perks like free advertising to include with our invoices for existing clients. I consult with him on any online marketing questions that come up, and he lets me know whether I need certain technologies or strategies.
How did you come to work with Local SEO?
John stopped by our office one day, and I told him how much we paid at Bell and how unhappy my sister and I were with their service. He said he worked for Bell, and after taking a look, he said he could do better. His price was also about 1/5 of Bell’s.
We used both Local SEO and Bell for awhile because my sister thought we should go back to Bell. John offered to keep providing service at half the price to keep our account going, and we ended up cutting back on Bell big time. The next year, we went with him exclusively and permanently.

It’s very hands-on with John. He calls me every 2–3 weeks and asks me how things are going. I never have a problem getting a hold of him, and his response time is almost immediate. If I call him, I know he’ll call me back within the hour. With Bell, it’d be weeks sometimes before someone called me back.
If there’s something I don’t understand, he comes in and takes care of it for me. I’m not good at computers, so he sits down and puts things in layman’s terms. Bell overwhelmed me. We initially thought, “Well, they’re Bell, they’ve got to be good.” That isn’t the case. Their people don’t actually help once they’ve signed you up for a year.

The first thing they focused on was page optimization. They experimented with my website layout by repositioning components and sampling different stock photos. They also recommended CTAs to include within the site’s content.

When I first partnered with them, I had been seeing competitors start to get better traction online. We’re one of the larger companies in the market, and I wanted to make sure we’d be at the top of the list, in comparison to smaller-scale competitors. The goal was to attract new business and make sure we were at the top of local searches. At the time, we only had Google AdWords in place and hadn’t worked with any other providers before Local SEO, in regards to organic results.

What was the scope of their involvement?
The strategy was to target a group of keywords local to our geographic area. Our business is localized, given the shipping cost of our products, so we wanted to target a tighter area. We chose 6-10 keywords to start, and a part of the process was increasing the activity of our company through various social media accounts which we added and setup. I would work specifically on creating an ongoing list of blogs for Local SEO to update and post, in order to keep our content active. We also worked on getting additional customer reviews and ratings published. We went through a major site retrofit in the beginning, making it SEO-friendly for them to edit on an ongoing basis. I know that Local SEO has been constantly monitoring it and making changes as Google make updates. What challenge were you trying to address with Local SEO Search?
I needed to get my business out there on Google so I'd be easier to find. I worked on SEO myself to save money, but that wasn’t too successful. I hired a couple of other companies, but they would promise things and never deliver.

What was the scope of their involvement?
They created a whole new website including design and development. I’m not completely familiar with the keyword process, but they did SEO for the entire site. We sat down for an initial interview, and John [Owner, Local SEO Search] asked me what cities and pests I wanted to target. He inserted keywords based on the lists I provided.
They’ve written some content for our blog, and I’ve also given them information on seasonal bugs to start thinking about for future blogs. I’m looking forward to reading those when they come out. They also did a promotional video for me a couple years ago, which was really nice. There’s a link on the website that sends people to YouTube.

How did you come to work with Local SEO Search?
I received a mass email from John. I didn’t respond, because I was working with another company at the time, and I wanted to give them a chance. When they didn’t work out, I remembered John’s email and I called him.
He told me he had experience from working with Yellow Pages. I already had some SEO knowledge because I researched and tried it myself. When I questioned him on a few things, his answers were correct, so I decided to give them a shot.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve taken my company from a really low ranking to the first or second page of Google. That’s what they promised, and they delivered. I started to see improvement as soon as they redid the keywords for my site, and I was really impressed with that.
They send us ranking results on a monthly basis, and our leads have jumped substantially over the last couple of years. When people call, I ask how they found me, and it’s usually via the internet.
The video they created was also a big hit.
How did Local SEO Search perform from a project management standpoint?
I would give them a 10 out of 10. If I have a concern or change I want to make on the website, I contact John and he responds to me within the day or the hour. Communication is the key for customers, and Local SEO does a great job. It’s a great relationship.
What did you find most impressive about them?
John keeps his promises. His company is growing, but he still takes time to call or email me on a monthly basis to see how things are going. I know if I contact him, I won’t wait a week for an answer.

We wanted to reach out to more customers. We've worked with other marketing providers, but we were not happy with them.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We were looking to be local and not worldwide. John [Owner of Local SEO Search] sat down and talked to us. We had conversations on what we wanted and nothing was done until they received our approval. They created a whole new website for us. As for specific features, we wanted the link of how to contact us directly through the web instead of people having to pick up the phone, if they're going to Google search us. Customers should be able to e-mail us right then and there. Local SEO Search implemented that feature, and we were happy with that result. We also appreciate that John is easily available. We can call with any changes, and he and his team addresses all of our concerns.
We never asked for them to do a blog for us, but they decided to include it in the package. They come up with the topics and write the blogs from start to finish. We compiled the keyword list ourselves. There were certain things that we wanted to focus on. Our target market is local.
How did you come to work with Local SEO Search?
They cold called us looking for clients and we needed someone right away to do our website. We had previously just gotten rid of yellow pages, which was a nightmare to deal with. We talked to a couple of other companies, but I was pretty specific that I wanted somebody that could meet in person and was not a mass corporation, and couldn’t give us personal attention. Aside from getting our site on the first page of Google, they increased the visibility of our firewood service. Clarity Medspa is a full-service medical spa located in Toronto. I’m one of the owners and we’re a small team–fewer than 10 employees.

What challenge were you trying to address with Local SEO Search?
We wanted to grow our business and find new customers. We have a strong referral circle, but we wanted to grow beyond that. We had worked with another SEO company before for three years. We thought we were doing okay with our old provider but switched because they were in a different time zone and it was no longer an easy relationship. Neither one of us had the bandwidth to stay up late or get up early.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our website needed to be rebuilt completely. It had been rebuilt four years ago, but that had become outdated. Local SEO Search rebuilt it from the ground up. They rebuilt all the backend so that it would be listed on search engines. We added a lot of functionalities that changed the whole mobile experience. Four or five years ago mobile was still not the be-all and end-all–it was growing, but not completely necessary. After that, they redesigned it to improve the aesthetic and built new pages for me.
One of the things that they took off my plate was writing my blog, which was huge for me. I was lucky if I wrote three a year, but Local SEO write two blogs a month for me and the quality is excellent—I just request the topics.
The keyword research is collaborative. They’ll tell me if the keywords are effective. They found ways to help me optimize without buying AdWords, which has been hugely cost effective.They also cleaned up my three Facebook accounts because I couldn’t find a way to consolidate them, as well as all the Google accounts I had.
How did you come to work with Local SEO Search?
I was contacted by Local SEO to visit their services. I circled them for seven months because I had to justify the change from our old provider to my business partner. I was very cautious and I did my due diligence by calling their clients.
How much have you invested with them?
$1,100–1,200 a month, which is about $15,000 a year. It’s a fraction of what I used to spend.

We started working together in November 2016 and the work is ongoing.

Within three months we were almost doubling our business. I’ve done business with them for 12 to 13 months and that growth has been sustained because my software for booking analyzes everything. The growth now inches up and I see it as a sustainable model.

They were amazing and made everything simple. They were amazing at herding me and taking me through the steps. They were really good about breaking my role down into small bites, which was really nice. They really guided me through the process. It’s like doing a renovation in your house. When you have a good contractor, they make it easy. As far as general contractors go, they were awesome.
When I ask clients how they heard about us, they say they went on Google and saw my website and that it’s really good. Our clients and our new clients really respond to our website. From a project management standpoint, they really kept everything on task and they did a lot of things that other people wouldn’t have done.

They’re local and in my time zone. I can put a face on a name. They show up if I ask them to.
My website changes a lot because I’m always adding new services or removing services or adding a new product or removing a product or updating something, which means they have to touch those pages again and do stuff to the pages. I never get any pushback on my changes. It’s a very respectable process and it’s very quick.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could take on managing social media but it’s not really what they do. They do my social media from a marketing perspective, but I need a PR person. I would like if they had a PR component. I know if I hired a PR person, that person would report to them and I know they would love working with Local SEO Search.

Right away, John [Owner, Local SEO Search] went over our website and gave us his thoughts on it; what was right, what wasn’t right. He didn’t completely change it, but he revamped the website. He told us what we needed to do in order to help with our Google ranking, how to be more user-friendly, and how to attract more people to our website. He guided us with our search engine optimization, including what the best key words were that we should use to attract people in the area. He’s also given us advice as to how to tweak our website, whether it’s adding blogs or getting our patients to do testimonials, any little changes that would help us with our Google ranking.
They have also changed our photos and the way the photos present themselves on our websites. They added blogs, which we didn’t have before. They also oversee our Facebook page and Twitter. John totally took all of that off my plate for me and is managing it for me. He constantly calls me to give me ideas and reminders of how to upkeep our website's content. Our target market is mostly local. I've found that a lot of people move in and out of the area. When people move into the area, they will Google dentists in a location near them. Since working with Local SEO Search, they've helped us to appear in the results for those search attempts.
Our new patient tracking is all done manually. When a new patient visits our office, we will verbally ask them how they heard about our practice. Based on what our new patients have told us, we have more than doubled our reception of new patients through searches on the internet. We are definitely seeing results from the search engine optimization work.
How did Local SEO Search perform from a project management standpoint?
John has been great to deal with. He’s always available. He either picks up the phone or calls back within a day. He responds to emails right away. He’s very open to constructive feedback and is generally more proactive than I am. He’s the one who will come back and tell me what I should or should not be doing.
