Glue Up is the leading provider of cloud solutions that provide associations, event organizers, Chambers of Commerce, agencies, marketers, businesses, and NGOs with a full suite of tools designed to streamline operations, modernize processes, and eliminate engagement challenges.

For what projects/services did your company hire Lean Discovery Group, and what were your goals?

Outside perspective of a feature we were building. It's always good to stir things with someone from the outside, which offers a fresh perspective. The goal was to do market research about the topic and write a document that will help designers and developers along the way.

LinkedIn Outreach, vendor reached out to us.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We collaborated with the GlueUp team to conceptualize, design and develop key components of the speed networking product within the Glue Up ecosystem. We did wireframes, clickable prototypes in Figma, and product requirement documents to ensure the product was ready for development.

Ethan was the product consultant and Agustina was the UX designer

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Deliverables were always on time and everything was communicated on a day-to-day basis. Ethan made sure to inform all the stakeholders about any challenges along the way.

All information and communication was shared via Teams and on a weekly meeting where we went over the conducted work and set goals for the next week.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Anytime we came to a challenge, Ethan literally bought a book about the topic and read the highlights to ensure we overcome it. They were solution-oriented and supportive.

None.

I’m the CEO of CoFoundersLab, which is one of the world’s largest platforms for early-stage founders and entrepreneurs.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lean Discovery Group?

We hired Lean Discovery to work on customer and user research. We wanted to make improvements to our platform based on our users’ needs and expectations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lean Discovery conducts in-person customer reviews to discuss the pain points they’ve had on the platform. We want to know where our platform is underperforming and where it's good. Then, their team brings the users’ feedback to us so our development engineers can iterate and improve our platform’s UI/UX design. 

What is the team composition?

We mainly work with Ethan (Founder), and he’s introduced us to a number of his teammates, including Mohan (Product Manager) and Abena (Former Lead UX Researcher).

Lean Discovery reached out to me through LinkedIn. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $25,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in March 2021, and the engagement is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Lean Discovery has provided great quality and a good value to our business. They’re responsive and have been an integral part of our team. We’re a customer-centric platform, so we need to stay in touch with our customers and understand their needs. That’s the best way we can serve them. Given this, Lean Discovery and their services have become an extended part of our business and future. 

Meanwhile, it’s too early to measure quantitative success metrics because it will take a while for us to iterate and implement features based on users’ feedback. We’re still in that process, and we’re going to give Lean Discovery a good nine months for us to see any measurable feedback. 

How did Lean Discovery Group perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been great, and we have no complaints at all. The research feedback they deliver is important, which is what creates deadlines for our engineers. In other words, they’ve done everything on time, and we’re happy about their performance. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their founder is great at articulating how to implement strategies for UI/UX research. They’ve fulfilled their promise, which is always an important part of any contract, especially since other agency-based companies don’t always deliver such proposals. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. They meet my expectations, and I’m not exploring any gaps in their services. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be a high performer; be quick and agile because Lean Discovery is a startup that continually makes changes to fulfill the reason why they’re hired.

We partnered with LDG to build a MVP for our geenerative AI platform. They were able to deliveer a workinng product within a Chat GPT agent as well as two individual generator tools.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

A product that allows us to move forward to the next step in our build process.

They were timely and moved with pace. We never felt like they were extending timelines and always met their deadlines.

They were able to share in our vision and desired outcomes for the project. It felt like they were personally invested in the financial product and wanted to ensure our satisfaction. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Lean Discovery Group could have done differently?

The only comment I'd say is gettinng line of sight to the person doing the development of the tool earlier. We met with the project manager and BDR for the first few steps annd then met the developer later in the process.
