I think relying only on freelancers has its limits long-term. Having a mix with strong in-house profiles is much more advantageous.

I asked Kanso to assist with hardening an open source nodejs library we were building, such improvements and deliverables entailed:

• Refactoring existing tests and disallow tracking calls internally
• Refactor code and split into smaller modules
• Perform an extensive code review on the NodeJS library
• Ensure that all API protocols are supported, and if not provided remediation
• Replace interceptor dependency with own internal library
• Package the library in order to be delivered
• Audit dependencies and replace or remove anything unnecessary

The open source library Kanso was tasked with building is now in production and is our most popular, and easiest to install library to date.

Kanso Code was built and led by an extremely talented engineer. This ensures that engineers he hires to also be extremely talented. It makes working on highly technical projects much easier.

They rae very good at executing on a provided SOW, but I would love to see Kanso bring their own engineering insight to the work and potentially push back on prescribed engineering decisions that seem counterintuitive.

We had a backlog of ~150 issues that needed to be completed before our MVP could launch. Additionally, several elements of our codebase needed to be refactored to work at scale. Key deliverables were to complete those issues, handle new ones that arose, fix bugs, accelerate our front-end development, and be a thought partner on critical code decisions.

We got outstanding engineering output from Day 1. Rapid burn-down of issues, whether trivial or complex. Noticeably accelerated our progress to an MVP. We re-wrote part of our roadmap based on Kanso's contributions because new functionality is now possible. We re-did our financial model to give more engineering cost to Kanso and less to domestic engineering hires.

Project management was very industry-standard. Short daily stand-ups, coordination in GitHub, well-documented pull requests, and easy communication in both virtual meetings and on chat.

3. Build front-end redesign of quiz builder, video embed feature, quiz templates library feature.

1. Features were built with all product requirements met. 
2. Refactors increased performance, security, and ease-of-use. 
3. Builder refactor should retain all functionality and replicate existing builder UI.

They were a very self-sufficient team that required no micromanagement from our team. They were able to manage and distribute the work amongst the team members to execute all projects on time. They even went a step further and provided their own creative ideas and suggestions when applicable and appropriate to the project.
