Killer Mobile Software

The client is a medium-sized telecom firm in Northern Virginia who specializes in QRC solutions. The client's main focus is in short-term projects with a quick turnaround. They were looking for a developer to create a mobile app that would allow the user to instantly log their location by pressing a predetermined button on the phone (without having to open the application). Killer Mobile Apps were referred from another project. Killer Mobile created the application for Symbian and Android devices.  

The client is a British consultant who was organizing a joint venture between a large British telecom company and a media organization. The goal of the project was to gain market share in an area that was dominated by an established competitor. Because of the competitor’s large marketing efforts, customers were able to remember the name of alternative service providers, but could remember only the competitor’s number. The client needed a way to allow customers to call the client’s service, even if they don't remember the client’s number.

As a result, the client enlisted Killer Mobile Software to create a smartphone application that checks outgoing traffic on a phone. If a call or text is made to a competitor’s service, the app redirects the call or text to the client’s service. This allows customers to use the client’s service without the client having to outspend the established competitor in marketing efforts. The application is available for Android and BlackBerry with a limited version on iPhone (due to Apple’s restrictions on apps’ ability to forward calls).
