Consolidated Data Storage (CDS North America) provides data storage and business continuity services. Data storage services include storage area network implementation and delivery, network-based storage, content accessible storage, and daily maintenance. Our business continuity consists of strategies to send production data backup copies to remote locations for ongoing business and then to recall those backup copies to restart business in the event of a disaster.

We hired Kaptcha Softwares to develop an in-house block-for-block data migration software application for our BCaaS (Business-Continuity-as-a-Service) project.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to be able to move data block for block and file for file within and across any data centers with suitable bandwidth.

The Kaptcha Software engineers and developers spent long hours with us ensuring all details were completed and tested before moving to the next phase, reducing the overall time allotted for the project. We knew their strategy was working because we were moving through phases without having to go back and address errors.

What was the team composition?

After detailed clarification of our project scope, software architects designed the data move sequence flow, procedure, and steps. This was handed off to the engineers, who made universal vendor-specific array codes by gathering target and source storage details, writing an API code, and following proper permissions from the original equipment manufacturers. Software developers built all the necessary codes and rigorously tested everything to ensure proper functioning.

Since launching this application, revenue from our BCaaS has increased by 62%. This easy to deploy, user-friendly product is needed in most IT departments.
