I am the president of the Fundación Ciudad Inclusiva. It is a non-profit organization, made up of an interdisciplinary team, from the city of Mar del Plata. We believe that sustainable development, care for the environment, and a gender perspective are fundamental pillars to achieving a fair and equal society.

Interactive map to assist victims of gender violence. The objective was to strengthen the institutional capacities of local actors, providing tools to improve the intersectoral and coordinated response to situations of gender violence and femicide prevention.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Julasoft developed an interactive and geolocated map that allowed us to meet the objectives of strengthening local actors regarding the critical path of gender violence.

We had an initial meeting to reconcile expectations and communicate goals and needs. Then, the work of a specific team to develop the project was agreed upon. Before the last deliverable, they delivered several drafts that were adjusted based on the needs.

Presentation and training sessions were held with several provincial agencies committed to the problem to offer the resources and public services available to assist victims of gender violence in a coordinated manner.

I work at the Foreign Affairs Department of the Argentine Government. I was CEO for IT at the time of this project.

For what projects/services did your company hire Julasoft, and what were your goals?

We needed a complete rewrite of an in house development dating back to the 1980s. It handles internal communications. Julasoft was hired to conduct a complete technical-functional analysis in order to establish how a new system should be written.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had to follow Argentina's public sector procedures by calling out for open competition among companies. We filtered out the proposals and chose the most competitive one among those that met the technical requirements.

Six steps were completed, each of them with a deliverable at the end. Deadline were met in every case. Technologies used involved email, Google meets, user interviews, written forms, telephone calls, among others.

Seven people from Julasoft took part in our project. They had these roles:

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The main outcome of the project was a complete blueprint to be handed down to programmers in order to achieve a complete rewrite of this core tool of our Department. In the process, a thorough catalog of functionalities was established, and provisions for future development were tended.

Julasoft met our deadlines, and we always felt they were a stimulating partner. We kept in touch daily through the pandemic year of 2021 using every online tool you may imagine and meeting in the flesh when needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Julasoft was extremely flexible and extremeley apt to work side by side with our team of ~ 100 public sector IT professionals.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not at the moment. Total satisfaction is the state we achieved!

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work in Agencia I+D+I, the Argentinian national agency for the promotion of science, technology, and innovation. The agency is within the boundaries of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and I’m the coordinator of a technical unit, which performs projects with other ministries and agencies.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Julasoft?

We had a problem dealing with contests in different areas. The agency deals with thousands of science and technology projects, and we wanted to build a platform that could anonymize the people presenting proposals and ideas. This is so the jury wouldn’t know the scientific backgrounds of the people submitting the proposals.

The biggest challenge was that we needed to build it in less than 90 days. We had to publish the contest and make the platform at the same time, so we almost didn’t have time to think; we just started working.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Julasoft developed our platform and design its UI/UX components. I conveyed what we needed at a conceptual level, wrote some documentation, and put together spreadsheets with the fields and modules I wanted.

There are modules for publishing contests, questions and answers, registration (where data is encrypted even to us), and presenting proposals.  

The first contest -organized by other ministry, with our participation- was only managed over email;   everything was manual, and there were several big mistakes that we wanted to avoid in our field.

The most important thing we needed was a reliable system for validating entries. The platform checks names, emails, and other personal information.

Juries judge the presented works, which we then check whether or not the listed authors really accomplished what they claimed. Julasoft handled hosting for the first contest, and they deployed the software to our equipment a couple of months ago.

What is the team composition?

There were at least six people from Julasoft involved, including their president, who got involved when necessary.

How did you come to work with Julasoft?

I wasn’t the one who made the first contact; the people in our purchasing department made a contest and they have their own methods. We needed this platform done in a very short time, so we didn’t have a month to set up a contract. Julasoft had to start working ahead of that, which was a strong compromise to make. I described the situation to their president, and they accommodated us in order to make the scheduled time.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost of the project is $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Julasoft in October 2020, and the first release was in November of that year. They continued to work on different modules and presentations, after we held the first contest.

We made a second contract with them in February 2021 to make some improvements. The contract was initially meant to end in June 2021, but we delayed the delivery because we weren’t ready to receive the software — we’re within the six-month guarantee period now.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve organized seven contests already, and the platform is working well. Before, contests were only managed over email — the process would take months, everything was manual, and there were several big mistakes. With this platform, we can do a lot more contests, and the data reliability is much higher, which is the most important part.

We’ve improved the way we do things, specifically increasing reliability and security. Because of Julasoft, we can do more things in less time.

How did Julasoft perform from a project management standpoint?

They worked with us during late nights, weekends, and they were always available to answer our questions. It was a problematic scenario, but we did it with goodwill and enthusiasm. One time, a module stopped working during a contest, so I called Julasoft and the problem was resolved in a couple of hours. We got close and strong support in a situation where time was very scarce. They worked with us as a team, and we felt very comfortable with Julasoft.

Moreover, the platform had to be ready in a very short timeframe, but Julasoft still met all our deadlines. We had meetings at set intervals, to discuss the progress, schedule, and any problems. I used Microsoft Project to keep track of the project, and Julasoft used a different tool.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve worked as a consultant for development firms, but it was always on the conceptual side. Here, we needed to compromise in order to select a solution that would meet our minimal quality level in the shortest time possible. Julasoft selected the right technical tools and met our time, quality, and deployment needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would’ve done a couple of things differently, but I don’t think that Julasoft could’ve done a better job, given the amount of time we had.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I don’t have any particular advice. They adapted to our needs, and we had good communication from the first moment.

We are a company that markets digital management tools for the Latin American optical sector. I am the general coordinator of projects and I am responsible for the monitoring and control of the implementation of the different tools to ensure their full operation.

Julasoft was contracted with the purpose of developing a technological platform that would allow us to boost our sales and collections in a mobile application on tablets for the sales force and an e-commerce site was implemented for the development of the business on the internet.

By references from other colleagues who have used your services and who were very satisfied with the results obtained.

The project was developed in three Phases:

1. Installation of an app to boost sales and collections
2. Integration with the company's Management System.
3. Development of E-commerce. The deliverables were made through an acceptance certificate for each phase, where on-site checks were made for each of the processes.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our Sales increased by 20% two months after the system was implemented. We have fully controlled the operations of our sellers. We update in real time the collections made by sellers on their sales tours.

I consider that I am a proactive Project Manager and that I use all the digital tools necessary for the optimization of my Planning and control processes. I use Redbooth as a Task Management tool and Sigis as a Management System, Officce 365, HubSpot Sales as CRM and Active Campaing as a digital marketing tool.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their high degree of commitment and efficiency in delivery were the most impressive aspect of their team in addition to the quality of its professionals.

I think that what they offer is very good.

We’ve collaborated on two projects together. During the first project, Julasoft implemented a tool that allowed us to interact with our vendors and manage projects with them.

For the second project, their team developed a non-traditional marketplace. They built a B2B platform that enables us to send content and allows our audience to see service providers’ products.

They were referred, and by the time this project came up we received different proposals, Julasoft’s among them and we really liked theirs. It fit our budget and we decided to start collaborating with them.

We started working together in June 2020, and it’s ongoing.

The results of our collaboration have been positive. They’ve provided us with great advice and exceeded our expectations. 

How did Julasoft perform from a project management standpoint?

Julasoft meets every deadline. If we experience a delay, it likely results from our client’s side. Their team is always open to talk. Our communication’s very fluid.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their software is practical; it’s easy to install and use. They’re supportive and provide great feedback on our projects and technical needs.

So far, I can’t think of any areas for improvement.

I’m in charge of sales and business development in the Americas for H&T Presspart.

What challenge were you trying to address with Julasoft?

We were looking to develop a better solution to measure the amount of medicine in mechanical devices, mainly for asthma and COPD.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Julasoft developed our mobile app. Patients can use the app to accurately capture how much product is left in their devices. They can also get notified when they need to take medication. Pharmaceutical companies can keep track of the medicine and patients, and doctors can keep track of patient compliance with treatments.

What is the team composition?

I’ve interacted with 5–6 people, including the two people in charge of the company and the techs.

How did you come to work with Julasoft?

We had talked to several vendors, and Julasoft was referred by one of our customers. They had the best pricing and lacked the compliance issues we encountered with some of the other companies.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested about $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together around June 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.

They provide excellent technological solutions. We’re very happy with the service and development they’ve provided, as is our client. Currently, we’re negotiating on another project.

How did Julasoft perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Microsoft project development tools. They’re accommodating, ensuring we’re on the same page. They complied with our very strict timeline.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They listen well and are easy to communicate with. Their team is willing to tackle everything we challenge them with as well. They’ve outperformed their competition regarding technology and price.

There are some challenges because of the language barrier.

I believe they used open-source platforms for various development projects. One was our mobile pre-sales platform and our smart indicators system DataView.

We met up via a client we had in common. I was able to see their work and the way they communicate and understand the needs of their clients. When we had these projects, I decided to contact them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started collaborating about 3–4 years ago and continue working with them. Our most recent project began in July 2020.

The impact of their work was great. These developments allowed us to grow our business thanks to the improvement of our digital channels. 

How did  Julasoft perform from a project management standpoint?

They are very good at communicating with clients like myself that have very clear needs but not the technical knowledge to translate them into the right processes. They're great at translating the needs of their clients into concrete technical solutions.

As for deadlines, they have very clear processes and scheduling using agile methodologies. After an initial meeting, they made a very clear road map and started with timely deliveries right away. Whenever we had any delays, they came from our side.

Their communication and timely deliveries are most impressive.

We are very happy with their work so I couldn’t say anything.
