They’re great at project management and communication. ItSilesia is very proactive in proposing solutions for issues both on their and our sides. As for deadlines, when they commit to a timeline, they almost always meet it. Although development can be unexpected and difficult to estimate (Specially in VR), they’ve met every requirement.

I’m impressed with ItSilesia proactive approach. We appreciate that they don’t do finger- pointing or stay idle when an issue isn’t on their side. The team is on top of things and they don't hide behind excuses. Once we request something they will put all their focus on those tasks, even if timelines are tight. Last but not least, the quality of their work is also very good; they have strong developers and PM.

I don’t think they have any weak points. They’re a very strong-performing team, and hopefully, we can continue working with them.

The scope of work involved the development of a cross-platform mobile app using Unity. Features to be developed included a music and lesson catalog, a complex onboarding process using a guitar, and multiple complex music trainers. Technical features included an in-app message bus and in-app event handling.

The app required the integration of complex tracking and analytics. The deliverables of the project were the ongoing development of new features to the app, such as additional music trainers or technical requirements. Additionally, the app had to be integrated into existing APIs to enable communication with other systems.

We manage the team ourselves. The communication is excellent — on point, forthcoming, open, and friendly. The team delivers great quality at a reasonable to fast pace; the emphasis is not on speed or specific deadlines, however, but on quality. When necessary because of deadlines or severe bugs, the pace is extremely fast.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I love the guys. They were trustworthy, reliable, open, friendly, and highly-skilled. The boss stays in the background, but will make things happen if needed. Prices are good, not discount, but absolutely fair. They are the perfect partner to us.

Of course. Hire more of those people we already work with! ;)

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project ended with the development of the first version of the PostMyTravel platform dedicated to serving travelers and travel agencies. In the final phase, the solution was validated as part of research conducted with future end users. Customer survey confirmed the usefulness of the solution. Project milestones have been reached.

We used the Jira tool to coordinate work within the team. We worked in two-week sprints, with daily morning meetings to discuss progress and plans. The entire project was also divided into several stages - each of them ended with a summary and a report.

The ItSilesoia team that worked with us consisted of experienced specialists who efficiently carried out tasks. They were a great support for us both in terms of design and programming. They completed their tasks on time. We could also count on their help and consultation in solving complex technical problems and support in designing the user interface.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Apart from the seniors, part of the team was less experienced and is still learning new things, but they learn quickly and this is not a problem.

The client was very pleased with the results, especially the faithful reproduction of procedures.

Whole project was led in Agile methodology. Every week there was a new sprint. Each one described the functionality which should be finished till the end of the sprint. We used readmine to communication and there were a lot of consultations and meetings with client

The goal of the app was to learn medical procedures. The itsilesia team had videos and descriptions at their disposal and they managed to understand and faithfully reproduce them very quickly. Additionally, they were able to deliver everything in a very short timeframe.

No, we were very pleased with the results and the way they worked.

We hired itSilesia in the Virtual Hospital project. The goal was to prepare a system for the academic community, so that lecturers and professors could prepare tests and exams for students, and quizzes that would support learning. All this was to be supported by anonymous data from hospitals on the basis of which you could create questions containing real cases of diseases, their course, treatment procedures, etc. Itsilesia was responsible for the development.

The company was recommended. The choice was determined by a conversation with the managers and a technical interview, which showed that they have all the skills we needed plus a very interesting portfolio of projects.

Team was responsible for contributing in design of frontend architecture for development as well as choosing frontend technologies. Their task was to create a quiz application for students and quiz generator for teachers. 

From a backend side they were responsible for the migration process of data from hospital to central storage. The task of the team from the backend layer was to support programmers from the client. They were responsible for projects of services data, communication and selection of technologies and libraries in the tasks assigned to them.

Team used Vue.js on the frontend layer and Java and Kotlin with SpringBoot on the backend layer.

During the project the team size was changing and ranged from 4 to 6. Positions: 

Java developers, mobile developers, frontend developers.

The team delivered:

• a mobile application which included quizzes and tests for medical university students and a tool for teachers to create them with usage of actual medical cases.
• reusable components which can be easily embedded in new applications, like quizzes and educational games.
• prepared a migration process of medical data from hospitals. Process consists of anonymization, mapping to the global FHIR standard and storing standardized data in a central datastore.

Whole project was led in Agile methodology. 

Every two weeks there was a new sprint. Each one described the functionality which should be finished till the end of the sprint. The sprint ended with the presentation of finished tasks. They used a Jira tool for communication. This tool gave the opportunity to create tickets where all new feature tasks were stored and bugs were reported. The ticket went through the full cycle from implementation through testing to completion.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

itSilesia team had a hugeimpact on the technical solutions and knowledge about the newest technologies in terms of the frontend, visualization layer. They found many solutions to emerging problems that appear on the project and development stage. The team also contributed a lot of technical knowledge in the field of implementing the business layer in java technology.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I have no objection to the work they done. All tasks assigned to the team were completed correctly and on time. The team also showed great knowledge and brought a lot of new solutions to the project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

itSilesia developed an Android/iOS mobile app for a fun gaming experience. It uses complex technologies like AR, facial recognition, and gyroscope integration. The app is based on our design, and it is still in the development phase.

What is the team composition?

We work with three people from their team. Two of them are company heads, and the other one is a programmer who works with me directly.

itSilesia was recommended to me by my investors.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from  October 2019–May 2020. We are still waiting to do more work with them on the same application.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We measure the success of itSilesia’s work on different metrics, such as how fast the app runs, how quickly it responds, whether it’s based on spec, what improvements they’re making on their own to compensate for anything I couldn’t predict, and the number of bugs.

They have done extremely well. The work they’ve done is extremely solid and well-implemented.

How did itSilesia perform from a project management standpoint?

itSilesia may be using an internal project management tool, but as far as I can tell, the project is well managed. We have a point person to deal with, and things just keep going beautifully. They’re capable of predicting when they will have an iteration done, and they meet that estimate.

itSilesia has solid engineering skills.

I can’t think of anything they could improve — they’ve been really solid partners.

We presented an idea for applications, the company verified it in terms of technological possibilities and proposed solutions. During the work, due to business conditions, we changed the AR engine. We provided itsilesia with work materials - technical drawings of tools and devices that we wanted to present in AR and data sheets of all devices that we wanted to include in the catalog. Itsilesia graphic designers developed all models and made animations.

Then we delivered devices on which AR was to be presented (AR image is superimposed on real devices), graphic designers developed markers matching the design of our showroom, and programmers verified their stability. Everything has been tested many times in various conditions to reflect AR on devices as accurately as possible. In our company, attention to detail is very important, so we wanted a really good result, which we managed to achieve.

We have worked with itsilesia on several projects. As the company is experienced in the use of new technologies, we entrusted them with the development of a tool to streamline the training process for our production staff. After preparing a prototype of the platform, the company handled the complex development of service and maintenance training for the machines we manufacture in virtual reality.

The platform allows us to train groups of employees in a safe environment, to make optimal use of the time of our engineers - the specialists who train the employees - and to streamline the entire process by transferring hard-to-reach and costly machines to VR (so employees can be trained at any time, without having to take the machine out of production).

These were our goals: to create a safe and comfortable training environment, to present procedures as close to real life as possible, to make optimal use of our specialists' time and knowledge, to make optimal use of machines and to reduce training costs.

We have worked with itsilesia for several years and have always been able to count on its support and interesting ideas involving the use of new technologies. The platform was their idea, which fit perfectly with our plans and needs and which we developed together. The deciding factor was the high level of trust we have in itsilesia and our satisfaction with previous projects completed together.

We started with the idea of creating training in a new format. The idea of using VR was suggested by itsilesia. After deciding that this was the right direction, we prepared together a range of material to be transferred. The company started working on the platform. They consulted some of the ideas with us to find out if they would be useful and work well in practice. They also suggested solutions that turned out to be very useful and were eventually implemented.

The first step was to prepare a test scenario for one of the machines. Itsilesia developed a 3d model of the machine and made animations reflecting the maintenance activities based on the video footage shot. We took part in the testing of the prototype. It turned out to be very useful so we decided to develop a whole package of training courses on several different service activities on different machines.

Currently, the company has already provided us with more than a dozen scenarios, with more in the pipeline. The company is also developing a module for interactive testing. We are using the platform with clients and employees.

The team working with us consisted of several people. 2-3 3D graphic designers, a team of unity programmers, a project manager and a technology and art director.

The platform is running smoothly and the service team is using it in its work, with more scenarios being added all the time and additional functionality being developed. As a measure of success, we have ordered a dozen more simulations.

We are very satisfied with the communication and timeliness. The team was always available to help us, everything was thoroughly explained and shown. All solutions were delivered on time. The scope of work is clear from the beginning, all project deliverables and ongoing changes were consulted. The process of exchanging and verifying materials was automated, we use gitlab and an ftp server.

Communication. They are professional but always ready to explain and clarify everything thoroughly. We knew exactly what to expect even if we didn't know the technology. They consulted with us every step of the way. They are always available and helpful.
