We engaged Hueman Studio to complete a full redesign of our website. We had just completed a rebranding project and our existing website was off brand, outdated, and the user experience had become confusing as our company grew over time.

The project included new information architecture, new site creative which applies our updated branding, updated copy for voice and tone, and a completely new front-end to the site.

We hired Hueman Studio to create a new website to round out our company, JDEA Studio, rebrand. After providing simple website basic desires, necessities, and inspiration, they seamlessly brought our vision to the screen. Through various calls and back-and-forth emails, we were able to easily communicate any and all changes/ideas we shared through each iteration. At our request, Hueman Studio was able to provide us with custom animations, clean layouts, accesible browsing, and domain transferral.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to update our 10 year old website within a project span of 3 months with Hueman Studio. Adding in functions such as email subscriptions and project form submission has increased our outreach ability to clients, and since opening the website less than a month ago, have received new client work and overall company visibility.

Hueman Studio's response time and communication was professional, comprehesive, and timely. In particular, working with Ilmaa and CP was always a worry-free experience as I knew they could deliver every change and request with an earnest effort.

We found how efficient with their time to create projects quite impressive as they were able to promise and deliver quicker turnarounds than most website-design companies we met with. The quality of work and effort they could provide within the budget we worked under was also stellar.

The design team has a good understanding of how to deliver information about a brand in a clean, simple, and uncluttered manner.  They are on top of industry trends but also know how to make a brand stand out.  

Are there any areas for improvement or something Hueman Studio could have done differently?

Email can be efficient and is a great way to have a running record of a project's progression.  However, during the process, It might be nice to include a few zoom check-ins for a freer exchange of ideas and to establish a stronger connection between the designer and the client.

We needed support to create a video.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hueman Studio has produced a short filmed video for our organization with the goal of playing it at events to incentivize donations. The video will be under five minutes long and filmed at different locations in Denver. Hueman Studio provides their own filming equipment.

We work with two teammates from Hueman Studio.

We've spent around $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Hueman Studio filmed the video in May 2024, although we had been discussing and organizing the video for a couple of months prior to filming. The team is still working on our video.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Hueman Studio hasn't completed the video yet, and I don't have feedback at the moment.

How did Hueman Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

Hueman Studio does a great job at meeting deadlines and staying on budget. We communicate via email and Zoom meetings.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to highlight CP's (Director) work, who is the main person we work with. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Hueman Studio has worked with a number of our affiliates and understands our organization's mission. The team is very easy to work with and listens closely to our needs.

I don't have any constructive feedback for Hueman Studio.

We hired Hueman to translate our complex website needs into a workable website and corresponding white label app. They advized us on which software and site organization best suited our use case and took into account our budget. They built us a website using Squarespace and added some further customization with SquareKicker and custom code injections. 

They were able to translate our branding into the language and feel of the site. They also set up the google analytics for our website and assisted in connecting our domain and an external form submission service.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Hueman met weekly deliverables to progressively build a website which included a scheduling app, e-commerce site, membership subscription digital products, form submission and portfolio. 

They were flexible in accomodating our change orders and making sure that our website looked and functioned as we needed, even as our understanding of our needs changed as we learned about what was possible and how our choices in one area of the website organization affected another area of function. They did a great job of communicating our options and advising on what would work best for our team.

Hueman delievered weekly and on time. when there were delay they were communicated quicky and were reasonable. They are very responsive to our emails and continue the support past the project's final payment. it shows that they are commited to the success of the site and in contining a good relationship with our team.

They are design focused, ensuring the site looked on brand and felt unique. They have the experience to advise on the best tools to use without investing beyond the scope of the project. They were able to tackle complex requests/functionalities and come up with creative and smart solutions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Hueman Studio could have done differently?

it would be great to have assistance in setting up the communication of our physical POS kiosks with the e-commerce website or get advice on how to set that up. They built the page but were not able to provide support on how to set up physical kiosk systems that communicated.

Yes. Hueman Studio is super responsive, reasonably priced, and upfront during the entire project. If economies of scale could be achieved, those savings were passed onto me.

Perhaps the only thing I would like to see would be a little bit more diversity in creative output. I do feel at times the brands share a somewhat similar look. Fortunately, it's a look that I like and will be timeless.

We wanted to update our current Hispanic ERG logo to something more modern with cleaner lines without loosing the vibrancy of the flags. We sent them a photo of our current logo and explained that we didn't feel it had a story to tell about Hispanic and Latino cultures. We discussed using artisanal work of different indigenous nations as inspiration. We needed a quick turn around because we wanted to re-launch the ERG to the business. This needed to be a quick turnaround and requested the work to be completed in more than 2 weeks.

The project although small seemed to be a top priority to the team. Our designer Elvis was very excited to get started and really listened to our needs. The project manager CP was very personable, professional and had solutions. He knew exactly what he needed to do to make sure the new ERG logo would stay on brand with the whole company.

Everyone was very responsive. My email questions were answered within a business day. Of all the many different things that needed to get accomplished for the re-launch the new logo design was something that I felt I didn't need to worry about.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was drawn to Hueman because their logo and branding projects are somehow both modern and timeless. I really appreciated the Case Studies and branding section in their website. It really helped me understand what to expect from the team and I was able to see their diversity in projects.

I also really appreciated their level of customer service. From their website it was clear that they were working on a lot of projects, but my project always felt like their main priority.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Hueman Studio could have done differently?

No areas for improvement. I had fairly small project. Even though I did not request it, the team gave me variations of the logo so that we could use it on different backgrounds.

FoundrSpace is a coworking flexspace workspace, we have private offices, conference rooms, event space, and a open work area available for 24/7 access. I am the Community Manager, I help maintain the premises and assist with members and staff.

Coming into 2022, FoundrSpace Launched its second location here in Pasadena. Hueman Studio was an integral part of getting us Launched in May 2022, getting off to a great start really helped get the local community behind FoundrSpace. Our goals of being an established part of the area and industry were met with Hueman, we are only at the beginning of our relationship and are excited for what's to come from this partnership!

Initially we had a base template for the workspace, with Hueman we were able to make it our own and unique in a sense of having something to offer that our competitors didn't and making our own mark on the community. The branding of Foundrspace took on a very relatable approach and understood that coming out of an unpresidented time with the pandemic and people easing back into the normalcy of work. Putting that specific touch on things and how things should operate made this transition very positive and welcoming to our members. We have simple designs that are easy to recognize and help when people research us and our brand. Its no easy task to have a website translate to the physical location and with Hueman that was seamless. Our webpage is welcoming, accessible, no hidden tricks or shady business underlines. When people think of a peaceful and productive workspace they think of us and that's exactly what we needed from Hueman and they delivered. This is only a few things our partnership has accomplished and there are many more with include marketing, events, design, just to name a few.

Was able to work with the entire team every step of the way, always readily available when called upon. The project manager was able to reassure that everything was on point and had communicated any issues that needed to be resolved. Marketing and web development was key in the beginning and continues to support with current promotions and events, customer support is always available and courteous when I have small issues or things that need more of an understanding with. Overall the team can accommodate for any task presented to them.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We hosted a few events already and all have been a success. We had people show up, while not knowing what to expect exactly and being greatly satisfied with the outcome and enjoying the visit while attending the events. We've networked through these events and have created invaluable relationships which helped our business grow.

Project management is key when launching a new venture, being able to call, email, message, or even text is very important and critical at times when development is happening and being able to adjust on the fly in real time is more than what is asked of.

I wish I would have known of them sooner.
