I'm cofounder of a company that creates video playing kiosks.

For what projects/services did your company hire Golpik, and what were your goals?

We required custom web development to create portals for customers to curate their video collections and remotely play them on kiosks.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We posted an RFP and conducted interviews and ranked applicants against predefined criteria. Golpik was selected due to their experience, understanding of the project, and estimated timeline.

Scope of work included full development of the web portal, along with user and device management, as well as edge device 'casting' -operating on AWS. Scope of work along with key requirements were provided to Golpik for them to execute against.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We interfaced with approximately 4 members of the team, with positions primarily in technical and project management.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The final deliverables of the project met the requirements that we originally set out. System is still being tested by our team and no measurable outcomes at this time, though initial results are very good.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We had frequent meetings with the project management team over Microsoft Teams to ensure that project was progressing smoothly. Communication was frequent though I feel like they could have been more honest about timelines so we could work with them and be proactive (i.e. bank/statutory holidays shouldn't create surprise delays).

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Though it took some time to finally hit the mark on what we requested in our scope and requirements documentation, they were very diligent in ensuring that the final product met our needs and spent time addressing niggling issues and bugs.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Be upfront about delays and hiccups with development so we can be proactive rather than reactive in addressing them.
