I’m the VP of marketing in a growing startup that has just raised $25 million in series A round led by Accel. We currently have 25 people but we’re expanding to have 60 employees in the next six months.

What challenge were you trying to address with P2H Inc?
We’re highly built on digital marketing. Our digital presence is very important for our go-to-market dynamic, so we hired P2H for their development and design services.

What was the scope of their involvement?
P2H takes care of all of our development and design needs, whether it be for a website, microsite, app, or any other digital media. They perform backend updates, overall website performance improvements, web page creation, and UX enhancements. They set up the hosting and build resource libraries for us as well. We also turn to the team to create tools for our campaign work as well as customized management consoles. Right now, they are developing an online game for our company.
For every major development or design need, we provide the team with a technical brief that details our functional and design requirements. We sometimes also provide them with a mockup that they could build off of. We’ve been working together for a very long time, so we have a good understanding of each other’s processes. P2H adjusts as needed to our timelines and complex workflows.

We are working with a project manager, several front- and backend developers, a QA team, and a design team.
How did you come to work with P2H Inc?
I worked with P2H in my previous organization. I used to manage the digital marketing and growth teams there, and when we were looking to expand our internal web dev team, I debated hiring additional developers or hiring P2H. They were highly commended by that previous company’s CTO, so I decided to use them. That way, we could have a flexible, scalable arrangement.
They delivered everything quickly and according to our expectations. There were no issues. I decided to bring them in once more when I started working for this new company.

This engagement started in June 2018 and is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
P2H’s development work has helped us bring in 10 million users and tens of millions of dollars to our pipeline, annually. They’ve become essential to the main generation channels of our multibillion-dollar company. As our external development resource, they’ve continuously and consistently delivered everything we’ve asked for in terms of timeliness and quality.
How did P2H Inc perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve had this partnership across two companies now, which speaks a lot about their performance as a development team. Their project manager, in particular, is very understanding and works to accelerate processes in order to get things to us more quickly and efficiently. We use Jira with a Jenkins integration to manage the different projects.
What did you find most impressive about them?
P2H’s ability to operate and deliver any type of digital project really stands out. Web development houses usually only specialize in one type of platform, but this team is very diversely skilled. They are versatile and flexible, able to support us on any type of platform, and capable of providing experts in QA, development, and design. Everything is under one roof.

Be very clear about what you want or invest time in leveraging resources to come up with a detailed brief. You will need this before you engage in actual development with P2H. Make sure to outline what you want them to build for you and how you would like to manage the production process. Don’t leave a lot of room for interpretation; be as specific as possible.

We needed P2H to provide us with both front end development as well as custom wordpress backend development for a project we've been working on for a client. We have been supplying the design to the team as sketch files. Some of the custom development requirements revolved around randomisation of content, custom post types, facebook feeds functionality etc.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The project was completed on time and on budget. The website was tested properly, which means we did not have to spend extra time on rigorous testing and feedback cycle. The client is very happy with the outcome. We are now rebuilding their audience (still early days).

Project management is of the highest standards. Deadline and timeline was always met, communication is outstanding, and very friendly. There is a big time difference between myself and the dev team/PM however, as they've done their job so well, this was barely noticeable. All my questions were always answered in full with extra attention to details and explanations where required. Super easy to work with!

The collaboration between developers, businesses, and project managers is essential. Having that intermediary who can bring everything together is crucial and ensures smooth coordination and alignment among all stakeholders.

Anna has been easy to coordinate and plan with. However, when you're in the loop and actively involved in development, it could be beneficial to have access to a calender to see when a developer will be available again, especially if the work or development is intermittent.

We had some issues with our credit card integrations, customer onboarding, and functionality within the platform. We have been able to coordinate and solve the issues systematically over the past 8 months or so.

My credit cards processing is working.
My customer and volunteer onboarding is working as expected.
There are several admin features, including report functionality, that have been corrected and are working as expected.

They were responsive and communicative. They were juggling other projects, so there were some times that we went offline while they working on something else, but for the most part they worked consistently and effectively on my project. I am not sure they knew how much needed to be tackled on my project, but we are finally getting down to fine details.

P2H were tasked to fix a number of bugs that were left on our website, in addition to providing additional web functionalities. They ended up successfully fixing additional issues within the FTP and script from our previous web developers.

Serhii and team worked tirelessly to fix our script and FTP on top of the additional work they were asked to complete. Serhii was very communicative and focused on fixing our issues with the site. Every day we received multiple updates on progress and they even worked late into the evening / during weekends to try to resolve the issues. I would strongly recommend working with P2H due to their excellent work ethic.
