Our Story

Urh and Jan Meža have been working together since 2015 and started Freshlab in Velenje in 2019. Over the years we watched good projects go wrong at the same point: the handover. A designer passes files to a developer, the site goes to a marketer, and each one inherits decisions they never made. So we keep design, development and marketing with one team, and the founders stay close to the work. 100+ projects later, 97% of our clients have stayed.

The people who design your website also build it, and the same team runs the campaigns that send visitors to it. Nobody picks up your project halfway through. When a number moves, one team can trace it back through the ads, the site and the tracking.

Founders on every project

Urh leads strategy, marketing and client direction. Jan leads development and systems. You talk to the people making the decisions, and there are no juniors learning on your project. We are still around after launch, because that is when the useful data starts.

Before we start, we agree what the work should change, then we check whether it did. For Pedicare that number was free consultations, and they grew 452%. Clients tend to stay once they see it: Sontro is four years in, and 97% of our clients have stayed since 2019.

The size of the job changes the process, but the start is always the same. We agree what the work should change, in numbers where we can, such as more enquiries or fewer admin steps. Then we scope it. Small, focused jobs go through Fast Track. That is one improvement for a fixed €1,750, delivered in 3 business days, with implementation, testing and one round of refinements included. Half is paid upfront and half on delivery. Larger builds are scoped as Custom projects, and the scope is agreed before the price is set. Ongoing Partner clients work with us month to month, from €3,500, and we plan that work in 90-day cycles. Design, development and marketing all sit in one team, so there is no handover between suppliers in the middle. The people who sketch the first version are the ones who launch it, and they are still there when we look at what it did.

Closely, and with the founders in the room. Urh runs strategy, marketing and client direction, Jan runs development and systems, and you deal with them directly instead of an account manager passing messages along. We show work early and say what we think about it. You can tell us we are wrong. It is cheaper to argue about a decision before it is built than after. We work in English and Slovenian. Many clients start with one project and stay. Sontro is four years in: we rebuilt its website, we run its social channels, email and paid ads, and we have built internal tools for its team, including a digital note-taking tool for customer home visits. When a project ends, you get the logins and the notes, so you can change things without us on the phone.

Freshlab is a Slovenian company, registered and operating in the EU, so GDPR applies to our work and we follow it. On client projects that touches the practical parts of a website: cookie consent for tracking and advertising tags, contact and booking forms that collect personal data, and who can access that data. A fair share of our clients are in healthcare, such as Medgen and Pedicare, so patient-facing forms and booking flows are familiar ground. HIPAA is a US healthcare law. It does not apply to our EU clients, and we do not claim HIPAA compliance. We also do not claim any formal security certification. If your project has specific legal requirements, tell us at the start and we will work through them with you and your legal adviser.

We don't publish an average ROI. Our projects measure different things, so one blended number would mean very little. These are real results from our case studies: Sanusdent: appointments up 500%, organic traffic up 220%, and 15.93x return on search ad spend. Medgen: first consultations up 378%, organic traffic up 87%, and the ads return 6.37x on ad spend. Pedicare: free consultations up 452%, organic traffic up 118%, and 10.77x return on ad spend. Modri zob: cost per enquiry from Google Ads cut by more than 50%. Tuplex: 10x more monthly enquiries after entering the Slovenian market. Labring: 12.5x more monthly product sales in Slovenia within a year. CPU: 280+ static registration pages replaced by two dynamic forms. Across all of our work, 97% of clients have stayed.
